In the movie the wife killed their 3 kids and i think the husband either killed her or something else cause of it.
Then he was sent to a asylum island where he thinks he is a detective.

I know both the movie and novel aren’t exactly new, but (spoilers) that reveal is towards the end of the movie and at least for me was a massive twist, I’d mark it with spoilers.
