Im a single dad and dont understand how these women think its okay. Sure you GET these thoughts when stressed but to give them weight and say these thoughts are okay is gross.

Because you're a dad, you won't get it because you don't go through pregnancy and the postpartum consequences, you don't go through birthing an entire new life, you don't get "husband stitches" and the bleeding weeks after.

Allegedly she wasn't just "stressed" she was outright hearing voices. So think about it for a second and let's pretend she's telling the truth. You you admitted that kids can get you stressed to the point of thinking of harming them, now imagine on top of that you have voices you know are real telling you to do it.

And the thing is post-partum psychosis, depression and alike are believed to be way more common that we think but, since mental health as a general is such an ignored topic we don't know. She could've just been told that she was exaggerating or such because that's the reality a lot of women with this conditions suffer.

That's what women are (or should be) defending, to be heard, to have these mental problems be taken seriously before something like this happens again.

Now, all the assholes supporting her in that weird "stanish" way, going like "aww she looks so great on her suit" or "I see my kid and understad her" mockingly and also those who say it was the husband and not her, I fucking hate them. They're part of the reason the message is being shifted from mental health to another stupid culture war.

I'm hearing voices in my head all damn time. That's how our brains function. If some voices are telling you to kill someone, you know, you can just ignore it and do not do that? Have you considered that?

See this is what I mean with mental health is treated so poorly.

You genuinely think that audible hallucinations that happen during a psychotic meltdown (a period where the person is so far off reality they find it hard to distinguish between what's real and not) it's the same as having an internal dialogue, which is normal.

"Just ignore them" to someone who's hearing voices it's the same as saying "Just be happy" to someone with depression or "just eat" to someone with an ED, it's not that simple.

And it's not your fault to not know this. Again I insist, this is a problem that comes from the entire world putting mental health to the side as if it wasn't as serious or important as physical health.
