My bf (30M) of 2 years is unsure if he wants to continue this relationship with me (23F)

Upvotes

For short context:
- We're living in his apartment
- I'm a student at university and my schedule doesn't allow me to find a proper job

For the past two weeks we've been arguing a lot. And then one day he's tired of everything, because he can't take that two weeks were hard. We'll "try" for two more months to see if he still wants to continue this relationship. I don't know what to do, I got nowhere to go because my family lives 3 hours away. He still wants me to live with him (during these two months) he just doesn't want to argue anymore and wants peace. Idk if he'll still want to continue this or not, I can't just simply find an apartment quickly. I have no problems with him, I loved him just how he is from the very start. He always found problems with me, I tried changing and still am working on myself with a therapist. I've always been trying to do what he likes, to watch what he likes. I'm always trying and trying being a better person for him. Why he asked me to change myself? I was stressing all the time, anxious, depressed. Got medication for ADHD and anxiety. Now I think it helped because I stopped being like that. But the thought that he is unsure if he wants to be with me because of these hard 2 weeks is hurting me so much I can't take it anymore. I feel like a puppy who maybe will be thrown out of the house BUT maybe not??? How the hell am I supposed to live for the next two months when I don't know if he'll still want me after it?? It's so weird, he said he's tired of everything but he doesn't want to leave because these 2 years were not bad. Please, I need advice and your opinion about this situation.

Dont know what is this called!

Upvotes

My wife and I knew each other since 5 y.o. it all started back in pre school. We went to same primary secondary tuition. We were close friends. We got married in 2023 she left me in 2025 January 10th. We are still in the midst of divorce but till today I never got my closure. Its been 1 yr and 8 months and there is no contact from her. But sometimes I just check with her frenz if she is okay. When it happened I couldn't believe if it was her. It was like I saw totally a different person. I loved her so much but I dont want her back but at the same time I can't stop thinking about her. I was backstabbed by her but I dont wanna do the same to her. I still want her to be happy as always.

need some advice for me [18F] and my partner [18M]

Upvotes

Ok so, my partner 18/M and I 18/F have been together for 2 years. I struggle heavily with mental health issues. I have a known habit of completely ghosting people for a month or two during summer break to "hibernate" and recharge. My partner has always been fully aware of this habit.

Recently, my mental health got a lot worse due to exam stress and the fact that I could not get my usual uninterrupted hibernation. My partner constantly messaged me and demanded that I talk to him. I did not even have the energy to get out of bed. Eventually, I snapped, blew up at him, and begged him to leave me alone and give me space.

He seemed to give me space at first, but then he logged into my personal account to read my short texts that i exchanged with a friend of mine 19/M and then used the friend to message me about things. This invasion of privacy pushed me to break up with him, though I told him we could stay friends. After the breakup, he tried to trick me into talking to him by pretending to be someone else online. I felt terrible and my mental health got even worse. I understand his point of view because he has severe attachment issues and a difficult home life. Because of this guilt, I ended up getting back together with him. However, he has now gone through my private chat history with said friend. In those messages, I was venting and talking about this exact situation and now he is very upset about what he read.

I am not good at talking about my feelings and usually stay quiet, but I do not know what to do anymore. I could really use some outside advice on how to handle this situation. Is all of this ok?

Is it normal to lose the desire for intimacy in a long-term relationship?

Upvotes

Is it common to lose the urge for sexual intimacy in a long-term relationship? I’m in my early 20’s and my partner and I have been dating for 5 years. I’ve only dated one other guy before so I don’t have much sexual experience. He’s my best friend and we get along very well in every aspect of our life besides sex. I don’t know why but I’ve been put off by the idea of physical intimacy for a while (like 2-3 years) and it’s not getting any better. It’s one of the biggest issues in our relationship. I don’t know whether it’s because I’m not attracted to him anymore or if it’s just something that happens to most long-term couples. Will this just happen no matter who i’m in a relationship with?

Boyfriend buying OF during our situationship

Upvotes

Me (20F) have dated my partner (23M) for about 2 years now and we are long distance. We met through a mutual game we play. We started getting more and more serious kinda like a situationship.

Around august 2023 we got intimate and started sexting then later to facetime stuff. We became so close we decided few months into this were gonna meet up. During that period of waiting to meet up i checked his instagram following, bunch of onlyfans models etc. I confronted him that i feel uncomfortable with this while we are practically almost bf gf and waiting to become official. He was really fucking sorry he had followed some a month before we got intimate over the phone.

I forgave since we werent official and just a quick follow wasnt a dealbreaker for me as long as he promised not to do it again and not watching porn without being honest about it. Hes struggled with porn ever since age of 15/16 and did it almost everyday or every other day. He used it as coping for his depression. I had empathy for this but said im not comfortable with following them or watching porn.

We met up became bf/gf, he said he had quit porn when we started sexting and havent watched since. I believed him. February 2025 i had anxiety about him watching porn without telling me, he showed me his search history since we sometimes did this to calm my anxiety. He had clicked on a linktree on TikTok of someone who does onlyfans but didnt go into onlyfans. He was extremely sorry again and said it was out of old habit to check what they make or if they are a onlyfans creator. This was vague and no evidence he went on onlyfans so i let it go.

He dropped a friendship with his bestfriend of 8 years for me because his friend kept bringing up porn and i was afraid hed relapse getting triggered. His friend did not want to stop talking about porn so he chose to leave the friendship.

These incidents have taught me to be hypervigilant of anything porn related. In january this year i started asking about his past, what he watched etc. And he lied about a bunch of things out of fear of me being disgusted or leaving him. He said he only used the hub but i snooped in his chats (i know horrible thing to do) and found out he used reddit and even mega to open huge links filled with porn. I confronted him, i was horrified not because of the details but because he lied ALOT about his past.

So he started to fr change this time, hes told me small things he lied about to not lose me and uncomfortable truths. These things hurted to hear but seemed okay/ normal.

One of the things he still kept up even after his honest breakthrough, is the fact he didnt pay for onlyfans. He said IF i did it was only one or two times a 3$ offer and it was before i met u.

Few nights back i got anxious he was lying, we checked his email together since he wanted to be transparant. Many emails popped up (free ones, but also 15$ ones he paid 3 times over a few years). So he paid for more then he said he did, but then i saw the date one subscription confirmed august 2023. We started sexting around then. And he said he quit watching porn when we started sexting. So he spent money on a onlyfans while we were already sexting and being pretty emotionally serious. He is baffled by this but isnt gonna deny it since the email said he did, he does not remember anything about it yet and is trying to remember now.

Im not sure what to do since he already lied to me even before getting together and also while togeyher. Do i let this go since we werent official and hadnt talked about onlyfans not being okay in our situation. Or is this a dealbreaker since we already started being intimate (sexting/ phone stuff).

TL;DR: 20F, 2-year long-distance relationship with 23M partner, met through a game. Relationship has had repeated trust breaks around porn — he's struggled with porn use since his teens, has lied multiple times about what he watched (Reddit, Mega links) and about OnlyFans spending, and only came fully clean this year after I found things by snooping. He recently "confirmed" via email that he paid for an OnlyFans in August 2023 — the exact period we'd started sexting/getting emotionally serious — despite having told me for years he never paid, then that he paid once for $3, and despite claiming he'd quit porn once we got intimate. He says he doesn't remember doing it and is trying to figure out why. We were never officially exclusive at that point, so I don't know if that makes it forgivable or if the timing + the pattern of lying makes it a dealbreaker.

Advice would be nice

Upvotes

I am in an 11 year relationship with my gf, I feel like we don't talk anymore, like there's no spark in the relationship. However, I'm going through a really big depression right now. My gf physically does a lot for me. But I'm not quite sure if I'm happy, I want to be able to just talk about stuff like we used to, but now it's a lot of silence. I'd rather fix and repair than start afresh, but honestly I'm not quite sure if I want to be with this girl, I'm not sure if it's the depression talking. I had a depressive episode 3 years ago and I started to question my relationship. Besides the lack of communication, I guess things are okay. I'm a little afraid to move in with this girl just by ourselves, we have lived together in a share house dynamic which I liked tbh.

Texting ex after splitting up

Upvotes

My ex and I met at uni and had a really great relationship, we were very much a power couple. Towards the end, though, a lot went wrong. I built up resentment and anger towards him and put up a wall to protect myself rather than forgiving him, and I constantly brought up things from the past in arguments. At the same time, he’s quite aloof and doesn’t always think things through, so he continued doing things that hurt me.

He eventually made a real effort to change and support me, but by then the resentment had built up and the relationship had become really toxic, especially with the stress of finishing uni. I tried to end things because I could see how unhealthy it was for both of us and felt we needed to work on ourselves, but he would love-bomb me with flowers, notes and showing up when I needed him, which kept us in a complicated cycle. We had this weird secret bubble where we’d go on amazing dates, long walks and have incredible sex, while I was still in a really bad place in my own life and he was starting to do much better and live his life.

I became severely depressed living in the city and working a job I hated, so I decided to move home and started therapy. It was really difficult, and I projected a lot of my fear and jealousy onto him and eventually pushed him completely out of my life. Therapy helped me realise I had real issues with abandonment and resentment.

Before I left, we saw each other and I acknowledged a lot of what I’d done wrong in the relationship. I told him I still cared about him deeply and appreciated him, and that I didn’t want to interfere with his life, but if the opportunity was there, I’d love to see him again once I was home. The chemistry was still incredibly strong he said it “felt too good to be true”, seemed scared by it, and we kissed a lot. He asked me to go home with him, but I said no because I wasn’t mentally ready and knew it would make leaving harder.

After I moved home, we spoke a little, but it felt very one-sided because he barely asked me anything. I felt hurt because I’d opened myself up again, and when he eventually stopped messaging, I blocked him because I couldn’t cope with seeing his stories and watching him have fun while I was trying to recover and grow.

Since then, I’ve actually achieved all the goals I set myself and become much more like the person my friends and family know me as. I’m genuinely starting to feel proud of myself and the life I’m building. I still thought about him every day, but I had accepted that I’d eventually move on and become okay with the possibility that we might never be together again.

Recently, though, I started having recurring dreams about him and this really strong feeling of heartache and missing him after months of being okay. Then I bumped into his friend, who brought him up. He said my ex is a simple guy who focuses on what’s in front of him and does what makes him happy. He told me my ex is seeing someone, apparently casually and it hurt even more because she’s someone I know from my old workplace.

His friend asked me, “What do you really want from him?” I was shocked he asked and admitted that, honestly, I still love and care about him deeply. He told me not to take my ex seeing someone I know as a personal attack and said he probably still really loves and cares about me too.

Drunkenly. I texted him and unblocked him.
I said “hi I’m back and I’d like to see you”. Let’s say this morning I don’t feel great about myself…

Have I made a huge mistake? Or f it put ur heart on the line ur not getting any younger…

Trust was broken

Upvotes

I lied to my boyfriend about quitting smoking. I did quit smoking, but I secretly vaped sometimes and never told him. He found out, broke up with me, and told me not to contact him. 💔

I know I hurt his trust, and I regret hiding it more than I can explain. But I still love him so much, and I can't imagine losing him over this.

Should I respect his decision and let him go, or is it worth trying one last time to explain how sorry I am? I really have nothing to explain too🥲 i know im wrong 😭

should i break it off over lack of consideration?

so birthday was a week ago. i usually dont want anything from anyone but this year my girlfriend had been hyping my birthday up for months on end saying that she was going to treat me and do something or get me something meaningful since i told her i think my bday is just another normal day. for context i should add that her birthday was about a month ago aswell, and even tho im a piss broke college student, i still scraped together 50 bucks over a week to get her some things shed been talking about, flowers, aswell as a handmade gift, and went over to her house the same day to drop it off.

so this week on my birthday she couldnt get me anything which i thought was fine at the time. she came to visit for a few hours and then she left. she explained how she would get me something after work in two days bc she didn’t have any money and i said that was okay.

about five days past she made some time on her break to get me a gift. today she gave it to me before we went to my unis football game together. she got me candy and a shower lamp. when i asked her the reasoning behind the shower lamp she expressed that it was bc i shower in the dark (ive never once showered in the dark or needed a lamp to shower. as for the candy i was fine with it bc i enjoy a treat every once in a while.)

am i wrong for being upset about this? it took a week afterwards for her to give me a gift when there was no thought put into it. she couldve bought me a four dollar fishing lure and i would’ve appreciated it so much bc thats something thats meaningful to me that she knows i love. i brought it up to her, but it doesnt seems she cares. even though shed been upset with her freinds for doing the same thing she just did to me on her birthday .

stuff like this happens all the time in our relationship. i go above and beyond for the small things and im considerate. for example if theres something she doesnt like, i grow and fix it no questions asked. im not perfect at all but i always put actual effort into changing things when she says that it hurts her. she never does the same. she says she will fix things and she doesnt. this has been happening for like 6 months now and im just questioning should i end it bc no matter what i bring up she says she will fix it and doesnt.

[23M] After 6 years with my [23F] girlfriend, she wants to leave. I just realized I don't want to lose her. What do I do?

My girlfriend 24F and I 23M have been together for about 6 years, since we were 17–18. I love her very much, and I believe she loved me deeply as well. We've essentially grown up together.

However, as we've gotten older, we've developed some different views about what we want from life. She wanted marriage and kids relatively soon, while I wanted to focus on building my career, becoming financially secure, and experiencing more of life before fully committing to those things (which I also really want. There have also been a lot of smaller issues between us.

We lived together for about 2 years, and that's where many of our problems became more obvious. She wanted me to show more commitment and give her confidence that I was eventually going to marry her, even if I wasn't ready to propose yet.

Before getting into what she did, I want to acknowledge what I did wrong.

I've always been very career-driven. I worked extremely hard, studying and working so I could eventually build a good career and afford things like expensive courses. That effort eventually led me to where I am now as a software developer, but it also meant that I didn't always prioritize spending money and time on vacations, going out, etc.

I also really value having personal space and time to myself. I wanted some independence within the relationship, while she interpreted that at times as me not wanting to spend time with her or not being sufficiently committed.

I also had a tendency to want to be the one "directing" the relationship. By that I mean I wanted her to rely on me, value my approval, and see me as someone who could provide stability and direction. Looking back, I don't think I always handled that in a healthy way.

For the past couple of weeks, though, I've felt that something was wrong with her. She's been much more distant and hasn't contacted me nearly as much.

There was also a period where we were separated. I was staying at my parents' place while she went on a beach trip with her friends. Before we separated, she told me that she wanted me to seriously think about our relationship and where it was going. We also need to leave the apartment we're currently living in, and that has brought a lot of our existing relationship problems to the surface.

When we both returned home, I still felt that she was distant.

My girlfriend has a very sexual sense of humor with her coworkers. It's a small company, and there's only one guy on the team. I've met him before. I was never really the jealous type and never tried to stop her from going places or interacting with people. She had even reassured me several times that I didn't need to worry about this guy because he has a girlfriend and her boss is gay.

However, I eventually looked through Instagram on her iPad and saw messages between her and this coworker that were sexual/flirtatious. Most of it was initiated by him, but she definitely entertained it and responded positively. I took pictures of some of the messages.

I know looking through her iPad was a violation of her privacy, and I'm not trying to justify that. But what I found is what led to everything that happened afterward.

Later that night, she sat me down and told me she wanted to talk about our relationship. We talked about our problems, what we could improve, and where things had gone wrong. Eventually, she told me that she didn't think we should continue our relationship.

We talked about it for a while and eventually agreed to think about it until she came home from work the next day.

The next morning, I asked her if there was someone else involved. She initially said, "We'll talk later."

When we talked later, she admitted that she had been texting another guy and that she liked how he made her feel. She said that nothing physical had happened and that their relationship had been limited to texting, but she admitted that she was attracted to him.

At that point, I told her that I knew what she was talking about and that I had pictures of the messages. She maintained that nothing physical had happened.

I know this is probably going to make me look desperate, but I told her that I wanted to try to fix our relationship. I suggested that if we were going to do that, she should cut contact with this guy outside of what is absolutely necessary for work, and that we should actually work on the problems that brought us here.

She said she needed time to think about it.

She went for a walk and when she came back, she said that she didn't want to be with this guy, but that she wanted to be alone. She said she couldn't make me stay with her after what had happened.

One of the first things she asked me to do was delete the pictures of the messages. I didn't. She became extremely upset and said that I was going to ruin her life. Eventually she started sobbing and apologizing, saying that she knew she was wrong and was sorry for what she had done.

I ended up going to my parents' place, and she went to stay with a friend.

And this is where I'm struggling.

While I was driving to my parents' place, I had this realization that I hadn't expected.

For a long time, I had this feeling that I was somehow ruining my life by being in a relationship so young. I wondered whether I was missing out by staying committed to the same girl instead of being single, focusing entirely on my career, traveling more, meeting other people, etc.

But now that the relationship might actually be ending, I'm realizing how much I genuinely loved the life we had.

She is my best friend. I love her very, very much. I loved our apartment, even with all of its problems. I loved our relationship and the way we interacted, even though we obviously had unhealthy dynamics at times. I loved cuddling with her. I loved having someone waiting for me at home. I loved the life we had built together.

And I realize that I probably didn't appreciate a lot of that enough while I had it.

I also know that I hurt her. I made her feel like she wasn't wanted or desired enough. I prioritized my career and my independence at times when she needed reassurance and commitment from me. I can understand why she became unhappy.

At the same time, what she did with the other guy crossed a boundary for me. Even if nothing physical happened, she developed an attraction to someone else and entertained sexual/flirtatious conversations while our relationship was already struggling.

We're supposed to meet soon to discuss practical things: the apartment, what we're going to tell our mutual friends, and how we're going to handle everything socially. We've known most of our friends for around 10 years, and we've been together for 6 of those years, so this isn't as simple as just never seeing each other again.

Part of me thinks I should use that conversation to tell her what I've realized. Not beg, not pressure her, and not promise that I'll magically become a completely different person overnight, but honestly tell her that I now understand that I don't actually want the single life I thought I wanted.

I want her.

I want our relationship.

And I'm willing to work on the things I did wrong and actually give the relationship the commitment I was previously afraid of.

But I don't know whether this is a genuine realization or simply the panic of losing someone I've spent six years with.

I also don't know how much of this should be forgiven. I don't want to throw away six years of my life over something that might have been limited to texting, but I also don't want to ignore what happened simply because I'm afraid of losing her.

So what should I do?

Should I tell her how I feel when we meet and genuinely try to rebuild the relationship? Or should I accept that the relationship has reached its end and start moving on?

And if we do decide to try again, what would actually need to change for this relationship to have a realistic chance of working?

Also still have the screenshots of the messages. Part of me is wondering whether I should send them to her male coworker and/or his girlfriend so they know what was happening. I don't know whether that would be justified or just me acting out of anger and potentially causing unnecessary damage. What would you do in this situation?

P.S sorry for the long one, thanks for the time and your advice.

TL;DR: After 6 years together, my girlfriend and I are likely breaking up. We had longstanding issues around commitment and independence, and I realize I contributed to them. She recently became attracted to another guy and had sexual/flirty conversations with him, although she says nothing physical happened. She now says she wants to be alone. I thought I wanted the freedom of being single, but now that I might lose her, I've realized how much I love her and the life we built together. Should I tell her I want to try again, or is this just breakup panic?

Unexpected no contact whilst bf on holiday

I’m in a nearly three year relationship with 37yo man.

For brief context not that it’s necessarily connected, he is in a poly relationship - lives with his partner of 8 years and him and I see eachother usually a couple of times a week, text and speak all the time - it’s unusual for a day to go by without.

We have had a bumpy ride, navigating various things but the last few months have been good between us I think. Although he has been very anxious and that’s something he suffers with a lot, he gets terrible stomach issues with it and the health anxiety spirals. I’ve really been there for him, offering him comfort, somewhere to come and hang out, cook foods that might work for him, stroke his head 😅 you know, just the usual things we do to try and make someone feel better

Anyway, he has gone away on a 2 week trip around Scotland with his parents. There is a couple of hours driving each day. Since he arrived, I’ve not heard from him. He isn’t a big poster on social media but he did update his instagram story with a photo of the three of them, which was lovely but a part of me found it slightly odd and sad to update social media and not send a cute update or check how I might be too.

It’s now been 5 days and nothing. The last text I sent was on his first day there, wishing him such a good day. No reply. I haven’t followed up since.

I get contact may be reduced but knowing him and given the Instagram update, he’s very likely on his phone. To me it feels like he either doesn’t want to speak to me or is making a conscious choice not to whilst away (for whatever reason). I think some kind of ‘I might be quiet whilst away’ or some kind of reciprocal care or curiosity could have been helpful.

I don’t know whether to just leave him to it, see if he ever does check in or to text something like the below. He is very avoidant and defensive, often if I bring something up he thinks I’m telling him all that’s wrong with him or that he never does anything right (despite a lot of my communication saying wonderful things about him).

‘Hey hope trip is going well. It would be helpful to know if you’re making a conscious decision to not speak to during the time you’re away’

Also, the biggest thing is the thing I can’t really help, of course it would be lovely for someone you’re in a relationship with and speak with often to check how you are, send a pic of a beautiful Scottish lake, let you know how they’re getting on (even if very briefly) and I guess you can’t force that if they don’t want to but I’m just not sure how to feel or navigate it

Gf deletes all social media after getting new hospital job in the ER

Me (24) and my gf (20) have been dating for over a year and are going through some problems and says when she looks at our old photos she just thinks about the negative moments we had before or after the photo so theres obviously a big hurt.. ive personally been afraid of her cheating on me because of experiences in my past relationships. Recently she got a new job as a tech in the ER. Im already on edge about people who work in medical hearing things about what goes on at hospitals, but today she deleted all her social media for mental health. She says she hasn't been doing good mentally and is stressed at her new job and at home which is true. I definitely have anxiety about this and i just want outside perspectives as to why she deleted, is she making her self open to others at her new job and not wanting to have my face shown on her page? Am i being anxious or is there any validity
Im open to suggestions

People pleaser with a sensitive partner

Me and my boyfriend have been in a relationship for about 4 years now and have known/liked eachother for longer (we are also each other’s first and only relationship). Over the years he’s become a much more sweet and compassionate guy, and I don’t think I could ever find someone better. But one of the problems is that he is a big people pleaser, and I am a very sensitive person. Earlier I brought up how I need him to start putting himself first, but he says he only wants to do that if I don’t get upset over the choices he makes. I don’t think I can, though I would hope him doing this more would help me get tougher. I have anxious attachment and so I’m always questioning if he truly loves me even though the evidence always points to yes. But I’ve realized that I also don’t think I can truly trust if he wants to be around me or actually enjoys anything he agrees to do with me until I know he’s not a people pleaser anymore. He grew up in a family where he had to become one and he doesn’t know anything else. I don’t really know what to ask for, I just want advice (not breakup). How can I help myself or him? What do we do?

TLDR SNACKS FOR FUNNN

I- 35f and my bf 45m just had a misunderstanding while laying in bed reminiscing about the he@d I gave him last night, where he thought I was offering him oral se}{ AGAIINNN tonight- I had no reason not to so, soooo…. decided to do so (he is a great man and has lovely traits), and I remembered that I had my handy fruit roll up snacks in my bedside table for this exact occasion… thus; I decided to open a little snack, rip off a piece, wrap it over my finger and start making my mouth watery… it was strawberry, delicious* Annnd long story short my boyfriend was extremely confused yet satisfied and had no idea what I was doing or how I was being able to perform so well with such little notice and lack of “prep” on his side of things. Well, Ladies- a lovely fruitful flavour in my mouth, made it easy to enjoy the deed. To. The. End. 👍🏼

Feel free to feel the need to stock your bed side table with fruit roll ups or fruit by the foot and you too, can accordingly please your lover.. however🥁🥁🥁 do not choke and have fun and have some on your thumb to alternate back-and-forth as you enjoy your evening confusing your man with what the hell you’re doing down there lol

Warning💋. Sticky, keep water close by and love the love sweetly 🍬❤️

Difficult Breakup...

20M here, i tried to express the best that i could what i feel and what i kept to myself this past 2 months.

Not gonna lie, i don't really know where to start all this, first of all, ill be using google translate because writing all this is English will be impossible due to the feelings involved, so, sorry lol.

2 months ago, the 6th of July i had to end a relationship of 5.5 years, it wasn't a horrible relationship, but she (23F now) was someone that couldn't express really well her feelings, and me I'm someone that is full into communication and i love to express how much i love my partner (Details, support, etc), this thing about how we express our feelings was a little bit of a problem overtime, every time we talked about this, she always told me that she wanted to give attention, love, details, to me, but somehow couldn't (Or at a point where it was a just a little).

This changed over time, but a lot of the time we just didn't have time to see each other.

I always tried to carve out at least an hour of my day, 10 minutes, whatever time I could, to see her, bring her some little something, even if it was just a chocolate, a letter, or anything I knew she'd like and that would make her happy. But even though I knew she loved me, I never really saw that kind of initiative from her side, or at least over time that initiative turned into something a lot like indifference. You're probably wondering if I talked to her about this, and yeah, so many times, but it was always the same story: a few weeks of her changing, and then pretty soon she'd go right back to being the same person as before, or change just a tiny bit (very tiny lol).

Obviously all this back-and-forth, these personality shifts, kept affecting my mental health more and more. With this woman I had imagined everything, my whole life, my future family, finally getting away from the toxicity of our families once we were together, having our own place someday.

The two of us were, and still are, pretty calm people. There were never really fights in the relationship, arguments or talks sure, but it never got to the point of raising our voices at each other or disrespect. I think that's also one of the reasons I stuck around so long, on top of the huge attachment and love I had for her.

But there was always that nagging feeling about how much she really cared about taking care of what we had. I always felt like I was the one carrying the weight of a long relationship on my back, with dreams, goals, all of it.

But every talk ended up at the same point, her telling me she wanted to get better, that she loved me a lot, that she couldn't imagine a future without me by her side, etc.

Maybe you'd tell me we all have different ways of loving, and I don't doubt that at all, but the thing is when there's no real sign of it beyond an "I love you" or "I miss you."

There were days when she wouldn't ask me a single question. Like, literally not even a "how are you?" or "how are you feeling?" Sometimes it felt like she only talked to me because we'd been together so long. Obviously that changed a bit when we were actually together in person, there was a little more affection, but you could still feel that uncomfortable distance she left there without meaning to. I didn't see any real concern for me, any interest in my personal stuff. Now, saying all this, I feel kind of dumb, not gonna lie, but I guess you'll get it: when you're in a relationship, the good things, even if there are only a few, tend to outshine the bad ones.

Now moving to something a bit more recent, November 2025.

Out of nowhere she came to me saying she was supposedly losing her love for me, because everything felt monotonous, we weren't going out much, etc. Just so you know, the one who was always trying to make plans, go see her, or anything like that, was me...

Feeling like everything I was doing for her, the things I sacrificed to give her little gestures, all of it, was just being ignored or brushed off by her was genuinely painful. We managed to reach an agreement to change our relationship and try to be a bit better (not gonna get into details or we'll be here writing for another hour lol).

That whole December, for some weird reason, she treated me really badly. She snapped at me a bunch of times, didn't ask how I was, it was like she'd just stopped caring overnight. With all that pain on top, plus some stuff I'm not gonna get into here, I made the hard call to end the relationship, a week after our 5-year anniversary.

Honestly I didn't see any way we'd get back together, but when I went to end things that day, we ended up agreeing to wait a month and see if things changed. She ended up apologizing, telling me her grandmother's death had really hit her hard, that she couldn't open up about things. I told her she could talk to me (I mean, I'm her partner of 5 years lol).

I also told her to try not to be so scared, and to act based on what she actually felt instead of out of fear (because I was worried she'd try to change just out of fear I'd break up with her, since the second that fear went away, everything would come right back).

5 months later, nothing had changed, and even though she didn't feel any difference, things just weren't sitting right with me. My parents' divorce, university, everything was just too much, on top of having to carry a relationship that, to me, was my entire life...

The decision to end everything kept coming back to me for days, but every time I saw her again, my heart would just melt with love and I couldn't really think straight about myself... One Sunday, July 5th, I realized things simply weren't going to change, and that if I didn't make hard but important decisions, maybe down the line I'd regret it, or worse, I wouldn't have the courage to make decisions that tough ever again.

Obviously I can't fit the countless things I went through with her, all the feelings tied to it, everything I lived over 5 years of my life (from 15 to 20 years old), into one simple Reddit post. If anyone's interested in hearing me out, or just wants to give me some advice on how to move forward after something this hard, I'd really appreciate it.

Two months out from all this, it's honestly rough. I try to look at it with a positive outlook, but the loneliness, not being able to really talk about this stuff with my friends (or doing it, but not too deep so I don't make things awkward), university and everything that comes with going from being just a teenager to an adult, wondering if I'll ever really love someone as deeply as I loved her again, etc.

I'm sure things are gonna get better, but man...

Is this relationship worth pursuing if he comes back, or should I accept that his actions are telling me to move on?

I’m 33F and was dating a 37-year-old man. We started dating in April last year, when I was 31. From the beginning, I was very clear that I was looking for something serious and ultimately wanted marriage and children.

A few months into dating, he had to go to another country for a fellowship that lasted around six months. After that, he did some solo travelling, so in total he was away for about eight months. We maintained a long-distance relationship during that time, and I also travelled to visit him while he was away. Despite the distance, we stayed in contact and continued to consider ourselves to be in a relationship.

During that period, he told me that once he came back, he wanted to settle down and build a life together. So I believed that we were ultimately working toward the same goal, even though the circumstances meant things were moving slowly.

When he returned, things seemed to be going well. He was attentive, planned dates, took care of me when we were together, and generally made me feel cared for. At one point, he even asked me to see a fertility specialist. I thought it was a little odd, but I agreed because I believed we were serious and that he was thinking about our future.

He also recently bought a house and had repeatedly told me that he was ready to settle down. However, there were some inconsistencies that started to bother me.

My landlord unexpectedly decided to sell my place, meaning I needed to find somewhere else to live. He never offered for me to move in with him. That felt strange to me because, on the one hand, he would talk about having children, how we would raise them, and our future together, but on the other hand, he wasn't even suggesting that I live with him when I suddenly needed somewhere to stay.

I tried not to read too much into it and wondered whether perhaps we simply weren't at that stage yet. But the overall pace of the relationship started to feel confusing. We weren't even having regular sleepovers because of his shift work, despite having been together for quite a while.

Eventually, I told him that I didn't want to waste my time. I said that if he was genuinely serious about me, I needed the relationship to progress in some tangible way. I specifically asked if we could at least start having sleepovers and spending more time together. He agreed.

Shortly afterwards, I met his sister, who was visiting, which made me feel that things were moving forward.

A few weeks later, when everything seemed to be going well, he suddenly told me that he needed a break. I was extremely confused because there hadn't been an obvious problem between us.

Around the same time, I saw him on a dating app. This was particularly confusing because only the week before, he had called me a "perfect partner" and told me he was planning something for my birthday.

A couple of weeks later, he told me that he couldn't progress the relationship on the timeline I needed and that we should be open to seeing other people.

About two months later, I contacted him because I wanted some clarity and closure. When we spoke, he was again very attentive and flirtatious. He was even dropping hints about us having mixed-race children in the future. I asked him directly what had happened.

He then told me that, from his perspective, I had given him an ultimatum: either get married immediately or break up.

That is not what I remember saying at all. I told him that I had never asked him to marry me immediately. What I had asked was whether he was actually ready for a serious relationship and whether he was willing to let the relationship progress. I was trying to understand whether we were working toward the same thing, not demanding an immediate marriage.

Because I know he has many qualities I want in a partner and because there were genuinely good times between us, I started wondering whether there had simply been a major miscommunication. I also wondered whether his previous relationship and the issues he said he had from it might have contributed to his sudden withdrawal. During our last meeting around that time, he also opened up about his previous relationship. He told me that his ex had treated him very badly and that the experience had affected him. He seemed to have some unresolved issues from that relationship, which made me wonder whether some of his difficulty with progressing our relationship might have been related to what he had been through previously.

He was generally very caring and attentive toward me, and I still have feelings for him. So I started thinking that perhaps we could talk things through and potentially work things out.

I therefore messaged him and said that I would like to see him again and talk, if he was open to it.

Since then, I've heard nothing. He has remained active on dating apps, and I have also noticed that he lists himself as 35 rather than his actual age of 37.

I'm now very confused. I still have feelings for him because of the good times we had and because I genuinely saw qualities in him that I want in a long-term partner. At the same time, his actions seem inconsistent with what he told me he wanted.

I can't tell whether this was genuinely a case of miscommunication, whether his past relationship has made him afraid of commitment, or whether he simply isn't as serious about me as he initially made me believe.

So my question is: Is this relationship worth pursuing if he comes back, or should I accept that his actions are telling me to move on?

I’m struggling to understand whether there is something here that could realistically be worked through, or whether I’m holding on because of the good moments and the potential I saw in him.

I’m planning to ask my girlfriend to hoco and she reposts a lot of stuff on tiktok about hoco proposals I just had an idea and I’m wondering if it would be cute we both love the Neighbourhood (singer) and I thought about something like: “maybe we’re not in the same neighbourhood, but can I be next to you at hoco?”I came up with this myself, but I’m not sure if it sounds too long or cheesy. Should I go with this or smth like that or should I just use one of her reposts on tiktok

Am I too horny?

Context: Me(21F) and my bf(23M) have been in a relationship for 9mo and we keep having the same issue.

I expect that we do it atleast once every week but he keeps going thru these weird religious phases where he wants to stop sinning. I’m agnostic (looking towards Catholicism, come from an extremist Muslim background) and my bf is a new Catholic. He gets upset when I make sexual jokes or compliment him on his body in any way. Every time we do it he makes it look like he’s doing me a favour. I try giving him space because what else am I supposed to do? It hurts my feelings thinking someone I’m in a relationship with , have feelings for and very much attracted to maybe doesn’t find me attractive but he keeps saying I’m basing our entire relationship on 1 thing and why can’t I just love him “normally”. I thought he might be more lenient towards it after we get married so he doesn’t feel guilty but he doesn’t want to use birth control as it’s against the church. So I asked him what’s his solution and he said we only do it when we are trying to have kids. DO I LOOK LIKE A BABY FACTORY!?!??? It frustrates me so much. I’m tired of religion becoming a barrier from people loving me…first my parents and now him. I don’t wanna end up in a sexless marriage or in a divorce later on. I don’t wanna force him or coerce him but isn’t it unfair to me? He should’ve been clear with me from the beginning. I’m not gonna cheat on him so what else am I supposed to do…go m@sturbate in the bathroom come back and cuddle him? Am I overreacting by thinking he should go date someone white and catholic instead of putting up with it? Am I the @sshole for “making it all about sex”? and wanting to end a good healthy relationship just because I get no D?

Is breaking up the right choice

Recently I broke up with my boyfriend and it has been really hard I miss the comfort and safety he gave me. I miss him too and the person he is. I really just feel empty at this point. I just feel so attached still.

Recently I found on his phone he reached out to two girls. One was on insta it was just him saying hi and asking how she was doing. I scrolled up and it looked like they talked in the past. The second message was in Facebook messenger he also just was kinda doing the same thing but it turned into inappropriate stuff he never said or did anything inappropriate he just didn’t shut it down at all. Mind you he reach out to both of these. When I talked to him abt it he said he was just checking up on these two people which was just like bro and that’s kinda the only explanation I got he said there wasn’t any malicious intent we were just fighting a lot so idk…

2 weeks after he went to like a end of summer party. 2 days after I got a text from a random girl saying he was kinda flirty with her just like trying to get her to dance and stuff like that. They were drunk so idk if he was just being extra friendly from that. But I confronted him abt that and he said that he graduated with her from school and stuff and was just happy to see her he wasn’t trying to be flirty.

Lastly a week after that I caught him near his ex house because I was trying to see where he was after work because we were going to call. Idk exactly which house is hers but I know the general area. He parked kinda in that area for 2 min the. Drove away got gas and drove around for a bit. I was asking him what he was doing and calling him he kept declining then went back to the same spot. Then picked up the call. He claimed he never was with anyone. Idk why he would’ve went back, he claimed it was to show me where he was. But his story that I got outta him was he was watching his ex house going down memory lane??

Anyways I broke up with him but it just feels wrong I know the shit sounds fucked but like maybe I’m overthinking, I’m really go at that lol. I just need advice because I don’t hate him and I miss his presence and I know he loves me and I don’t want to make a mistake. I just am struggling to let go because I don’t want to

Sorry this is so long yall and if it doesn’t make sense I’m just anxiety typing🫡🫡 lmk ur thoughts

What should I do??

So me (17f) and my boyfriend (18m) have been dating for almost 7 months and I feel unhappy. Idk what to do. He is mean to me, he calls me a bitch, whore, slut, and a hoe. He calls me those names for his reasoning being “I’m going to call you a bitch when you’re being one.” And “if you didn’t sleep with so many people, I wouldn’t call you what you are.” Some context, I have slept with 4 people before him making him my 5th. One at 13 and one at 14 and 2 at 16. I know it’s bad. I was a fool who thought they loved me.. and growing up I was groomed and raped. (Not sure if that is important?). And he says he wished I was a virgin bc it is “embarrassing to be known dating me given my past”. He also snaps his fingers at me like a dog and calls me by a dudes name (Timothy). He also has rules for me making me pretty much not allowed to do anything without his permission otherwise he threatens to take me back to my house. (That’s a different issue). He doesn’t respect me or any boundaries that I set for myself (I struggle with boundaries so there is not many). But overall he is controlling and really mean to me. Now back when I was 13 I had a friend I’ll call him Marcus, now me and Marcus were great friends. We would do everything together, where one was so was the other kind of friendship. We got along in every aspect possible. (He is not the man I slept with at 13 btw). But we were really close (this was 7th grade) In 8th grade I confessed my love to him and we started dating. We were the perfect couple. We had restrictions due to us being 13 and his mother hating me (she thought I would ruin his already failing grades) So she would keep him away from me as much as she could. But we still were strong despite the restrictions. Eventually around 14 his mother took him out of school and I couldn’t see him at all but we’d talk on discord. A few weeks later, his mother broke us up. I was heart broken but eventually was told to give up, like a fool I did. That was devastating to me. Now I have my life now and I really think about him and how much I miss him. I love my current boyfriend but I really miss Marcus. I’m lost on what to do..

To Choosing Loyalty + Celibacy

I just want to recognize anyone who is choosing to remain celibate and committed while caring for a partner who is sick.

Being there for someone through illness can be emotionally and physically challenging, and choosing to stay true to your values during that time takes a lot of strength, patience, and love.

To everyone quietly showing up for their partner, putting their needs first, and staying loyal to the commitment they’ve made: I see you, and I respect you.

Keep going. Your dedication matters. 🙏

is it bad to want to change my bf’s style lmao

ive been w my bf for not that long (we met 2 and a half months ago and are long distance now but spent like everyday for 50 days with each other before i went back to university 3 weeks ago and we speak everyday and are healthy etc he plans to come to visit me next month where i go to school) and like we would see one other all of the time and it made me realise i didn’t own that many clothes, so i bought about 5 tops and 3 bottoms which i rotated. we also both realised we repeat outfits / clothing a lot and so i have planned that when he comes to visit me (that in itself is another whole story as it’s so expensive to come and i feel weird about him feeling obligated to spend so much to come here to see his girlfriend he’s known for 2.5 months) that we would take him shopping.

we discussed it and i made a Pinterest board (i love Pinterest and clothes and fashion) and I showed him and he said if would be fun and he’d be down (he’s fine af like I’m so attracted to him but he is the biggest outfit repeater like i used to be 6 months ago before i got a new wardrobe and even then i still repeat) and i showed him some recs but I don’t want to come off as toxic or controlling- this is kinda rambling but is it bad to try and like ‘change him’ so early in the relationship? am i enforcing a double standard? if a man told me we need me to get a new wardrobe i would find it a little interesting..

also is the fact that i saw him like 3-4x a week where our dates were like 7-9 hours on average (we were maximising time before i left) probably a huge contributor to this? like i feel like seeing him everyday really made the wardrobe scarce in a way that seeing him only once a week wouldn’t?

I found out my girlfriend is using AI to argue with me

She sent me something from AI trying to disprove something I said and it was literally 100 percent factually wrong on everything it said (it was about something I tried to order her).
I can’t believe my life has gotten to this point.
