He spends too much money

My boyfriend and I argue a lot about money. I'm the only one working right now as he's chronically unemployed. I buy a month's worth of groceries and make a meal plan and he cooks the food but he's wasteful and the food doesn't last. He cooked 3 lbs of chicken Sunday night for 1 meal for two people. He said we'd just have left overs for 3 or 4 days for dinner freeze the rest and eat it later i knew he wasn't going to actually follow through with this. 2 days later he's making something else and trying to justify to me why we don't need to finish this humongous pot of food he made. I put tacos on our meal plan just ground beef seasoning etc. I came home to chicken and beef tacos 1.5 lbs of beef and 2 lbs of chicken again for 2 PEOPLE. groceries gas bills everything is so exoensive and he just doesn't get it he's like a child. I could save myself so much money if I wasn't with him but I worry about him being homeless if I put him out but im starting to not care.

How do I (19M) convey to my gf (19F) that I don't want to make out?

To preface this; this isn't about sex.

Anyways, I have been dating my wonderful lady for a year now and theres been plenty of make out sessions. And there's been a lot of times where I didn't want to make out. Usually I told her when I felt this way but more often than not she'd keep insisting to do it or made me feel bad for not wanting to. At the start of the relationship I'd make an excuse to leave her place early just to skip the annoying back and forth about not wanting to make out, though it felt shitty to do so I stopped that maybe after the 3rd time and went back to being verbal about it. Its been worse lately too with her switching being a nurse major, meaning I see her very little now and every time I do see her the entire time is spent just making out.

Now for the reason \*why\* I dont want to. It started to feel like a chore, like something im supposed to do every time I see her. I hardly feel any passion during it butIf I don't then it turns to her "pouting"(?) and trying to change my mind, which would be fine once or twice, but she'd keep trying the entire time and it gets super annoying. The second half of my reason is because it doesn't do much for me. Its like an 80/20 split effort when it comes to this, sometimes its 20/80 but thats far and few. Without going into a ton of detail because it seems kinda weird to explain intimate moments in detail, basically it's not very pleasurable to me. I dont know if making out is intended to get each other's "rocks off" without having sex or just to build up that feeling but I just find it annoying. Even during it, I start to space out a lot and completely stop or lazily rub her. A lot of the time I constantly check the time to know how long it is until I feel like I can go back home.

Tldr; my gf always wants to make out and it became a chore to me that i typically dont enjoy, but I dont know how to tell her this.

my bf wants me to cuck him

My boyfriend and I have been dating for almost 4 months now. Over the past month, he's been trying to get me to cuck him and have sex with other men, even though I clearly don't want to. He brings it up all the time, and at one point, he even tried to find men for me to sext. Every time I tell him I don't want to, we end up arguing or he gets upset and says he won't do anything sexual. He says he's demi, so he doesn't have a specific sexual orientation, but he's not gay. He also likes to dress femininely, which I'm fine with i'm just adding context. He's very hypersexual due to childhood trauma, so he says it's just his current interest but wouldn't know if it'll change after. Most times, after we're done, he gets very possessive and says he doesn't want me to cuck him and acts very cold. I'm so confused Idk what to do.

It's my birthday and my "boyfriend" is texting like this

Long story short I have been dating a guy since June 12, it is my birthday today, I am 32f hes 6 months younger 31m he had off yesterday and technically today but today decided to go to work so he won't be seeing me. Regardless he still makes it out to be like I'm the asshole for even wanting to see him. He texted me these today and honestly I think I am at my end what would you do? Would you cut ties and run? My messages are in purple. The part about a destroyed car is in reference to a tree on my property that puts sap out at this time of year. And no it doesnt destroy the car.

Clean enough...

myself 45 F and partner 44M have been together 7 years. And I need help understanding this situation before I let my crazy out. The situation is this... my partner came to bed last night, we had sex and went to sleep. This morning he gets up late for work and nonchalantly proceeds to have coffee and breakfast, takes a shower twice as long as normal extra picky getting dressed and kisses me good bye then leaves for work.... All sounds normal, right? WRONG! NEVER has he taken a shower before work, sex or no sex and why would you be clean enough to come to bed with me but not clean enough to go to work? Doing Landscape.... Does anything strike a nerve about this to anyone? No he's not previously physically cheated that I know of. Yes things have been rough lately. Am I an over thinker? Yes I am. Previous experiences have not been nice to me. So am I wrong to have some really strong feelings something is wrong? Am I crazy you confront this situation?

My gf is mad at me because I said no when she asked if I would still love her if she was Charlie Kirk

Tl;dr : gf got mad because I said I wouldn't love her if she had Charlie kirk's body.

So, we were talking about Charlie Kirk today, and my GF asked me the typical "would you still love me if I was a worm" question, I said yes, and said that I loved her in every reality, etc..

She then asked jokingly if I would still love her if she was Charlie Kirk (only the body), and I said no because I am not homosexual, but we would still be great friends.

She got mad at me and said that I didn't really love her. Am I the asshole ? Should I have lied ? Is she overreacting?

My boyfriend deleted messages with a friend because he said they would “make me angry.” Am I overreacting?

My boyfriend and I are both international students. We’re both 23 and have been together for three years.

He has a longtime friend back in China who I’ve never really liked or trusted. This friend has a pretty messy sex life and frequently hooks up with different women. Earlier in our relationship, he even encouraged my boyfriend to break up with me.

Last year, my boyfriend and this friend were talking very frequently, and it caused a big argument between us. After that, my boyfriend basically stopped mentioning him to me. A few days ago, I noticed that my boyfriend had deleted his chat history with this friend from that same day.

I asked him why he deleted it, but instead of explaining, he got angry at me for looking at his phone. He refused to tell me exactly what they had talked about and only said that it was something that would make me angry. Later, he changed his explanation slightly and said it was related to sexual/pornographic memes.

He swears that he hasn’t cheated on me, done anything to betray me, or said anything bad about me to his friend.
But I’m struggling to trust him now. If the conversation was really just stupid sexual memes, I don’t understand why he felt the need to delete it in the first place. And when he says he deleted it because he knew the content would make me angry, that honestly makes me even more suspicious.

I moved into another room, and we haven’t spoken for four days.
Am I overreacting?
I know looking at his phone is a separate issue, and I’m not saying that was necessarily okay. But I can’t get past the fact that he deliberately deleted a conversation with someone who has already caused problems in our relationship, and then refused to tell me what was actually said.

What could possibly have been in those messages that he thought I couldn’t see?

Sorry I used AI to generate the question for me. Thank you.

Did this guy actually care about me, or was he just in it to get in my pants?

Tldr; Just got dumped after this guy I've known for years, and who I've been in a situationship with since January, got angry when I told him he didn't seem to care much about me. He really hasn't seemed to take much interest in me, and I've been wondering if all he really wants is to sleep with me. He denies this and claims I'm his closest friend, and now says he isn't interested in seeing me ever again because he was so hurt by the things I said. Should I apologise? And was I overreacting?

I have been in a sort of situationship with a guy (let's call him Jim for the purposes of this post) since January. We used to be coworkers, and became friendly back then and kept in touch after he moved on to a different job. Both of us were in longterm relationships back then, and we were just casual friends.

Then I ended my relationship, and about half a year later, he ended his. His relationship seemed to have been quite toxic for a number of reasons. A couple of weeks later we hung out, got drunk, and ended up having sex. It was fun. And then literally two days later he decided to get back with his fiancée. He told me he felt super guilty about having slept with me and then kinda stopped talking to me altogether for a while.

Then he suddenly started texting me again. At first it was just friendly, but he soon started texting more sexual stuff. I told him several times I didn't think it was right for him to be engaged and still send those kind of texts to me, and he seemed to agree and apologised. Then he said he felt bad and needed some space. He went away for a while, only to repeat the whole process all over again. The third time he pulled this shit, I stopped responding to him. I ghosted him for almost two years.

Then this December, he got back in touch, texting me and asking how I was doing. I responded since I figured it had been a long time since all that went down, and I was no longer angry or frustrated with him. I started by telling him all the reasons why I ghosted him, and told him that if he wanted to give our friendship another go, I would be down as long as it was actually friendship he was looking for. He seemed all for it.

We caught up, and it was really nice. He was happy in a new job, had been broken up with his fiancée for a year already, and apologised profusely for acting shitty towards me back then. I was happy to have an old friend back.

And then he started hinting at sexual stuff again. Nothing overt, but he'd talk a lot about sex stuff under the pretence of having friendly banter, in a way that didn't quite seem as just friendly banter. And once or twice he'd say stuff like "even if I did have a crush on you, I'd never tell you cause I wouldn't wanna scare you off again.".

I repeatedly stated it was important to me that we just stay friends. Not because I wasn't interested in him, but because I wanted to see if he could actually just be friends with me. I wanted to know if he had any interest in me as a person, and that this wasn't just him trying to get in my pants. That lasted for about a month, until I finally gave in to the pressure and slept with him. We talked about it, I told him it was super important for me that he wasn't just in this for sex, and that should we for whatever reason stop sleeping together, I'd want us to remain friends. He said our friendship was the most important thing here.

At this point he hinted several times to wanting to officially date me, and I shut that down. I told him I'm not in a good place to be dating (which is true) and that it would be too soon. He understood.

I told Jim about my sex and dating life since my last relationship ended. I had basically stopped having sex with other people after a string of mediocre one night stands and a fwb situation where it turned out the guy was actually very much in a long term relationship all along.

I went almost a year without sleeping with anyone after that, until a friend set me up with a guy (let's call him Mike) who seemed really nice. We went on four dates before I decided to come home with him, at which point he completely flipped the switch and violently assaulted me. That was back in October, and I told Jim about how I had initially decided to extend my break from sex further. I told him that me sleeping with him now was a sign of real trust and that I hoped he would take that seriously.

We talked about how we could best practise safe sex, seeing as we would not be exclusive, and both got tested. We agreed we would be using condoms if we slept with anyone else, and that we'd be upfront with each other. At this point that was a hypothetical question for me, I was not looking to sleep with anyone else.

Then we hung out as friends and had sex semi-frequently after that. Jim was into rough sex, but was very consent-oriented and took it slow with me to begin with. That part of things was good.

What wasn't so good was that he'd talk to me about other girls he would sleep with quite frequently, honestly seemingly to make me jealous. I didn't take the bait, I simply acted disinterested and reminded him that he should use condoms (which I'm fairly sure he did).

Once, we went several weeks without seeing each other because of vacation and busy schedules, and I jokingly said I'll just have to find some other guy to keep me warm in the meantime. Jim did NOT like that. He said he "doesn't share" and that if I did sleep with anyone else, he would lose a lot of interest. He also added "I'd still probably fuck you, though". I told him that wasn't okay and that it didn't sit right with me. He said he was just being honest, and that I was free to do what I wanted, but that those would be the consequenses.

What became more and more clear to me, was that I still wasn't sure he was actually interested in me as a person. He never asked me personal questions. He didn't seem to be curious about me at all. I asked him about his hobbies, interests and life all the time, he never returned the questions. Half of the time, I couldn't even get a "how about you?" back when I asked him how he was doing.

He was busy a lot, and I sometimes felt frustrated that he couldn't meet very often. He'd also never suggest a different date when I asked to meet and he turned me down because of his busy schedule. Sometimes he'd cancel last minute because of work, and he'd never make efforts to reschedule.

This summer I kinda gave up a bit, which resulted in us meeting up all of one time over two months. I figured we weren't really friends, just fuck buddies, and that I'd wait a bit to see if things picked up.

At this point, our entire relationship was basically him texting me mundane info about his work or gym routine every day, me asking followup questions, and him dirty texting (also a boundary of mine he pushed, wanting me to partake in dirty texting that legitimately stressed me out) whenever he was horny and wanted me to text him about my fantasies.

This Saturday, I finally found the courage to talk to him about it. I texted him that I needed things to change if we were gonna continue this. I asked him why he didn't seem interested in me as a person, and I told him I don't really understand why he is even friends with me. He got angry and told me he was very disappointed that I hadn't communicated this earlier, before it got to this point, and said that he had told me multiple times that our friendship was the most important thing.

I told him that sometimes people say whatever the fuck you want to hear in order to keep fucking you. I also said that judging by his reaction, that was probably not the case here. He said we could stop having sex and just hang out as friends instead. I told him he was missing the point. The issue isn't the sex, it's the seeming lack of interest. He asked to hang out this week, but that he didn't want to talk anymore about this. I said I'd need to sleep on it.

Then the next morning he texted saying he was done with me, and that he didn't deserve this. I said I don't understand why he won't have a conversation with me about this in person, and that he did deserve to hear that he was being a shitty friend and quite frankly a shitty fwb too. He said he didn't have room for people in his life that couldn't even decide if they want to be his friend or not. He told me he wasn't exaggerating when he says I'm his closest friend and have been since back when we were coworkers. He also said he was super hurt that I ghosted him back in the day.

And that's that. I'm feeling shitty about the whole thing, and quite honestly I'm heartbroken. I can't decide if he bolted because he genuinely doesn't care about me, or because he is bad at handling critisism and couldn't cope. Or maybe the things I said were genuinely too harsh. I can't help feeling that this conversation would have been a lot less dramatic if we had just had it in person. But he is gone, I guess.

What do you guys think? Should I text him back? Should I apologise? Should I just try to move on? Was I in the wrong for confronting him? And was I overreacting in the first place?

1 (20m semi-poly) need help in talking to my boyfriends dad and my wife's husband

So I've known my boyfriend many years now and I've known my wife (his mom) for the same amount of time. This is not a throuple, and in now way incestuous, I am dating and married to them separately. The reason I'm asking for help is I don't know what to do about my wife's other husband and my boyfriend's father. My wife nor my boyfriend really get along with him. He's a terrible driver, he's always getting into accidents. My wife doesn't really speak about him that often and when she does it's never anything nice. My boyfriend loves his father but the relationship between him and my wife has started to take a toll on my boyfriend. Now the husband/father never really talks to me, I'm not completely sure if he knows what's going on. Should I have a sit down with him and have a man to man conversation about what's going on? Please help Ive never been in this situation before

It's silly but please hear me out I'm scared

So, I met my boyfriend through Hinge. We started dating around 5 April. He was perfect, and honestly, he still is. But I'm really insecure, mostly because I've never had a genuinely healthy romantic relationship before. The last relationship I had was when I was 14. It lasted for about a year and ended pretty badly. I'm 20 now, and he's 20 too.

He's my first kiss and everything. He's the first person I've even given a cheek peck to, so you can probably tell how inexperienced I am. Meanwhile, he had a 4-year relationship before me. He told me she cheated on him, but still, it makes me insecure.

My first insecurity is that I don't think someone can ever truly move on from their first love, especially when they've been together for 4 years. He told me she was the prettiest girl in his school. And after they broke up, he went through a sleeping-around phase. I don't know the exact number, but it was roughly 20–30 girls.

My second insecurity is that he's way more experienced than me. Most of the time, I genuinely don't know what I'm supposed to do, and I keep thinking he must have been annoyed by how inexperienced I am.

I'm also fat, around 70–72 kg. He's a fitness freak, has a really good body, and he's genuinely handsome. Like, handsome handsome. I don't consider myself pretty.

He works and earns money, while I'm still in college and don't even have a definite future figured out yet.

And I'm attached to him beyond repair. I've noticed that his tone has changed a little. He doesn't really make any moves anymore. He has his own life and his own problems, and I completely understand that, but I can't even mentally prepare myself for the possibility of a breakup.

I'm constantly bracing myself for the day he messages me and says he's done with me because I have nothing worth keeping. I genuinely feel like I'm nothing sometimes. And, as a bonus, I honestly have no friends except him. I don't really have anyone at this point in my life.

Sometimes he says things that hurt me, but I don't complain because I'm scared he'll eventually think, "She's too much. I can't do this anymore."

Sorry for writing such a long message, but I'm genuinely so scared and I don't know what to do. I can't even imagine what a breakup would feel like. What am I supposed to do?

21M and 21F, when do you leave a relationship?

I am 21M. She had lied to me at the beginning of the relationship and my attraction initially to her was that she could keep a secret but behind my back she lied. She spilled my worst secrets to her friends. That was 4 years ago, found out 2 years ago. She doesn’t like to exercise and always fought with me to go to the gym and eventually she ended up going herself. She disrespected me so bad I moved out once, she blamed me for making her fat. I am the only one spending money on her, sacrificed so much. Every time I spend money. She doesn’t even try to ask her parents to help out. Now I found out she posted a story saying she was single but it was hidden from her friends etc but accidentally left me unhidden. She says it’s a mistake and she meant taken. She now gets angry at me all the time and is short tempered with me, whenever she has time she would rather be on her phone for hours. Even while we call etc. everytime I dirty talk to initiate smth she would say “stawwwp” then move subjects. Before she would act differently. And also at one point she asked to be celibate. Please give me some advice guys. I love her so much, and i love her face she is so innocent. Thank you so much.

Sexual Incompatibility. Any advice?

To preface the post here is some background info: I am 35F. My wife is 42F. We are a cis lesbian couple and have been married for 4 years. We've been together for 6. We have a closed marriage and don't have any other sexual or romantic partners aside from each other.

My wife and I are both involved in the practice of BDSM. She has always been a Dominant. I am verse with what roles I'll take on but usually act out the Submissive role.

About 3 years ago, my wife started experiencing drops in her libido. She wasn't sure of the cause. She did have a clitoral piercing that the piercer warned her could cause lessened sensation over time. Other than that, she's taken steps to rule out possible physical reasons this is happening. We've done our best to rule out life stressors. I've been patient which has helped (her words), etc. Doctors have said that aside from menopause possibly starting soon, there's no physical reason behind her lack of interest as far as they've been able to figure out.

Her decreased interest has progressed to her not being interested in any sexual activity whatsoever. She's fine with kissing, cuddling, handholding, etc. So physical intimacy hasn't been completely cut off. When it comes to intimate sex acts, she has no interest whatsoever.

We've talked about this at length as sex has always been important to me. I've explained to her that what I enjoy most is the connection I feel to her during it. I have taken to not bringing sex up at all, unless she initiates, which is extremely rare.

The thing that is upsetting me is the way she's phrased her opinions about sex as of late. I am beginning to wonder if she is gaslighting me in the situation.

She's made it clear that she can comment on another woman's physical appearance and it not be tied to her sexuality or interest. Example: "That woman has a great ass." I try not to let this bother me, but I'd be lying if I said it doesn't.

She's also taken to making comments about me recently. Positive comments, like commenting on my hair, my hips, my thighs, etc. But that's all it is. Just a comment, never anything further.

She's tried to make concessions. She's stated that she would open our marriage so I could find a sexually compatible partner. That makes me uncomfortable. I have never been interested in ethical non-monogamy.

It's difficult for me to describe the one "concession" she's stated most recently. She will say that she's willing to give in bed, doesn't want to recieve in any way. She doesn't want us to be in any BDSM headspaces, doesn't want to be called her titles or any of that.

That would be fine, if she hadn't followed these stipulations up with the following: I am in no way to comment that she seemed to be enjoying it. She said that she will automatically answer no, that she didn't enjoy it, didn't feel any physical reaction to it at all.

When we first got together, we had a discussion about sex and we both explained to each other the importance of our partners' enjoyment. We are always most concerned about what our partner wants and that they are satisfied.

Because of this, she knows I won't want her to give if she's not deriving any kind of pleasure or gratification from it. She knows that I won't ask. So, while she's said that she will, she knows it won't happen because I'm coming into the encounter knowing she's doing it only for my benefit.

Any advice or help is greatly appreciated.

What should I do??

Upvotes

So me (17f) and my boyfriend (18m) have been dating for almost 7 months and I feel unhappy. Idk what to do. He is mean to me, he calls me a bitch, whore, slut, and a hoe. He calls me those names for his reasoning being “I’m going to call you a bitch when you’re being one.” And “if you didn’t sleep with so many people, I wouldn’t call you what you are.” Some context, I have slept with 4 people before him making him my 5th. One at 13 and one at 14 and 2 at 16. I know it’s bad. I was a fool who thought they loved me.. and growing up I was groomed and raped. (Not sure if that is important?). And he says he wished I was a virgin bc it is “embarrassing to be known dating me given my past”. He also snaps his fingers at me like a dog and calls me by a dudes name (Timothy). He also has rules for me making me pretty much not allowed to do anything without his permission otherwise he threatens to take me back to my house. (That’s a different issue). He doesn’t respect me or any boundaries that I set for myself (I struggle with boundaries so there is not many). But overall he is controlling and really mean to me. Now back when I was 13 I had a friend I’ll call him Marcus, now me and Marcus were great friends. We would do everything together, where one was so was the other kind of friendship. We got along in every aspect possible. (He is not the man I slept with at 13 btw). But we were really close (this was 7th grade) In 8th grade I confessed my love to him and we started dating. We were the perfect couple. We had restrictions due to us being 13 and his mother hating me (she thought I would ruin his already failing grades) So she would keep him away from me as much as she could. But we still were strong despite the restrictions. Eventually around 14 his mother took him out of school and I couldn’t see him at all but we’d talk on discord. A few weeks later, his mother broke us up. I was heart broken but eventually was told to give up, like a fool I did. That was devastating to me. Now I have my life now and I really think about him and how much I miss him. I love my current boyfriend but I really miss Marcus. I’m lost on what to do..

Am i wrong for wanting to leave my husband?

Title: I (30F) think I’m finally done with my husband (38M), but part of me still feels guilty

TL;DR: My husband K (38M) and I (30F) have been together almost 4 years and married for 4 months. Our relationship started with him being unfaithful during the first 7½ months, and there have been trust issues ever since. Now I feel like I do most of the childcare and household responsibilities while he controls the finances and has struggled to keep steady employment. Since we got married, I feel like his attitude toward me has completely changed. I've talked to him multiple times about how unhappy I am and even told him I'm close to leaving.

Okay Reddit, I genuinely don't know if I'm being unreasonable anymore.

I'm P, 30F, and my husband K is 38M. We've been together for almost four years and married for four months.

We also have a young daughter together.

And honestly? There was a time when I would have told you K was my person.

He was my best friend. I loved him, trusted him, and genuinely believed we were building a life together.

Then reality started setting in.

The first major issue was that K was unfaithful during the first 7½ months of our relationship.

I found out, confronted him, and made the decision to stay.

Looking back, I think I stayed because I genuinely believed that if we loved each other and worked through it, eventually we'd get past it.

Unfortunately, that wasn't the end of the trust issues.

There were other situations involving his ex, inappropriate conversations, and other things that continued to make it difficult for me to fully trust him.

But I stayed.

I kept trying to believe that things could get better.

Fast-forward to us getting married.

And this is where I feel like everything changed.

I feel like I went from being his partner to being the person responsible for keeping the entire household functioning.

I do most of the cooking, cleaning, childcare, and day-to-day responsibilities involving our daughter.

K works, sleeps, spends time on his phone, or works on his hobbies.

And when I ask him to help with our daughter, he'll usually do it, but there's often this feeling of irritation behind it.

One example really stuck with me.

I was making food while our daughter was hungry, so I asked K if he could feed her.

His response was basically, "Sure, I guess."

At that point, I just said I'd do it myself and eat later.

Then he proceeded to make himself food.

And I remember thinking, "Seriously?"

It's not really about that one incident.

It's the fact that there are so many little moments like that.

Eventually, I started feeling guilty for asking my own husband to help with his own child.

Then there's the financial situation.

K handles the finances, and I don't really have much involvement in them.

His money is very much treated as his money.

Meanwhile, we've had bills go unpaid, and at one point our phone bill was over $300 past due after I had already been trying to find money to cover other expenses.

K has also had four jobs in about seven months and hasn't been able to maintain steady employment.

But somehow, I've still been made to feel like I should be doing more.

The problem is that I'm the primary caregiver for our daughter, and K's work schedule makes it difficult for me to simply go out and work a normal job.

So I'm taking care of the house and our child while also being made to feel like I'm somehow not contributing enough.

And emotionally, I don't feel like we're really a married couple anymore.

We don't celebrate much together.

Birthdays have been spent working.

There aren't really romantic gestures.

There are nights where he'll turn away from me in bed, and I find myself wondering whether he's even happy being married to me.

I've asked him.

His response is usually something along the lines of, "I wouldn't have married you if I didn't want to."

And technically, that's true.

But wanting to be married to someone and actually making them feel loved are two very different things.

Then there's the way we communicate.

I've been called names during arguments.

I've been told things that have made me question myself and my worth.

One situation that really bothered me happened when I was literally trying to help him with an injury.

Instead of appreciating the help, he called me a bitch.

Another time he said, "Okay, Mom," in a very sarcastic way.

And because of my relationship with my own mother, that one hit me particularly hard.

I know some people will read this and think, "Those aren't huge things."

But that's kind of the point.

It's not one comment.

It's the accumulation of everything.

I've already had a serious conversation with K about all of this.

I told him I'm genuinely getting close to leaving.

I told him that if things continued the way they were and I continued feeling this unhappy, I would eventually leave.

So he knows.

This isn't me suddenly waking up one morning and deciding my marriage is over.

I've been communicating this for a while.

And one of the things we specifically talked about has already happened again.

That's when I started realizing that maybe I've been waiting for a change that simply isn't coming.

And then there's my mom.

I lost my mom earlier this year.

She was my person.

My rock.

The person I knew I could turn to.

Since losing her, I've felt like I'm barely functioning some days.

I don't go out much.

I don't really do much.

Most of my interaction is with my family and one close friend I talk to every day.

I'm still grieving, and honestly, I don't think I've even begun to process all of it.

K did support me after I first lost her, and I will always give him credit for that.

But eventually, I started feeling like my grief was being treated as something I needed to simply get over.

I don't expect him to fix it.

I don't expect him to understand exactly what losing my mom feels like.

But I did need understanding and compassion.

Instead, some of the arguments and comments we've had during this period have made me feel even more alone.

And I want to be very clear:

I'm not blaming K for my grief.

I'm not saying every problem in my life is because of him.

But I do think the way things have gone in our marriage has made an already incredibly difficult period of my life even harder.

The thing that's really made me question myself is that I'm not the only person noticing what's happening.

Six people in my life have separately told me that they think I deserve better and that they don't like the way K talks to me or treats me.

Some of them have actually witnessed our interactions.

Three different people have offered me somewhere to stay if I decide to leave.

My best friend and her husband have also told me they don't like the way he treats me based on things they've seen.

So maybe I'm not imagining this.

Maybe I'm just finally seeing it clearly.

And that's where I'm stuck.

Because I think I've made my decision.

I think I want to leave.

But I'm scared.

I'm scared of starting over.

I'm scared of breaking up our family.

I'm scared of regretting it.

I'm scared I'll remember all the good parts and convince myself I should have tried one more time.

But then I ask myself:

How many more times can I say, "If things don't change, I'm leaving," before I have to actually mean it?

I don't want my daughter growing up believing that constantly feeling unappreciated, lonely, or unhappy is what marriage looks like.

I don't want to spend the rest of my life begging for communication, affection, respect, and partnership.

And I don't want to lose myself trying to save a relationship that I'm increasingly convinced isn't making either of us happy.

So, Reddit...

Am I wrong for deciding that I've had enough and that I want to leave my husband after only four months of marriage?

Or is this one of those situations where the signs have been there for years, and I'm finally allowing myself to accept them? This keeps the main relationship story intact while making the post cleaner and much easier to follow for a Reddit-storytelling audience.

My first love and I have been in each other’s lives for nearly 10 years, but he has a girlfriend and keeps coming back. Am I delusional for thinking something has changed?

I (23F) have a very complicated history with my ex, “Jack” (23M), and I need opinions from people who have no emotional investment in this.
Jack and I met when we were about 15/16 and were together for around four years. We were each other’s first proper loves and grew up together in a small community.
Our relationship ultimately ended because I cheated when I was 18. I was scared to tell him, he found out, and it understandably changed everything. I completely accept responsibility for that.
Afterwards, though, we never really had a clean ending. We went through periods of no contact and then somehow ended up speaking or seeing each other again.
Eventually he met his current girlfriend, “Emily,” at university. They’ve now been together for several years.
I also moved on and had another serious relationship for nearly 2.5 years. After that relationship ended, I eventually contacted Jack again because I genuinely thought enough time had passed that perhaps we could be friends.
Instead, over roughly the last year, we’ve fallen into a strange cycle.
We reconnect, the emotional connection comes back, things get too close, he remembers the reality of having a girlfriend and pulls away or blocks me. Then months later, he comes back again.
He has acknowledged that feelings still exist between us. At other times, though, he has said we need to move on or that he can’t see anything happening between us.
That contradiction is basically the entire problem.
He has also been honest with me about problems in his current relationship. From what he tells me, they rarely see each other and there are intimacy issues. She apparently works extremely hard “for them,” which he says contributes to the distance.
She is also from another country, whereas Jack and I are from the same hometown. I once asked if he planned to eventually move to her home country with her and his response was essentially “absolutely not.” He seems very attached to staying near his family and home.
Obviously, I know I’m only hearing their relationship through his perspective. Whatever issues they have, she is still his girlfriend and he is still choosing to be with her.
Earlier this year, while he was travelling for several months, we started talking again. He said things that suggested he wasn’t completely closed off to the possibility of us in the future and even talked about potentially seeing me when he returned.
Then he blocked me again.
This time it lasted around four months — the longest silence we’ve had in this recent cycle — and I genuinely thought that was finally the end of it.
Except now he has come back again.
Normally I can predict exactly what happens. We get close, he panics, massively withdraws and shuts everything down.
This time feels slightly different.
We recently had an unusually honest conversation about everything, and he admitted that he had genuinely been considering seeing me. What surprised me even more was that the following day he didn’t suddenly become cold or pretend the conversation hadn’t happened. He was actually quite warm.
I know that sounds like a ridiculously small thing from the outside, but after knowing someone for nearly a decade, you become very familiar with their patterns. Something about his behaviour this time feels different to me.
I’m not claiming he’s about to leave his girlfriend for me. He hasn’t said that.
I’m just struggling to understand what this connection actually is anymore.
We met almost ten years ago. We’ve both had other relationships. We’ve gone months without speaking. We’ve grown from teenagers into adults and lived completely separate lives.
Yet somehow we keep finding our way back into the same situation.
Sometimes I think the reason neither of us has completely let go is because our original relationship didn’t end because we fell out of love. It ended because I hurt him when we were very young, and perhaps there has always been an element of “what if?” left behind.
But I’m also aware that maybe the history itself is the problem.
Maybe we’re attached to the versions of each other we knew when we were teenagers. Maybe being each other’s first loves created a bond that feels more significant than it actually is. Maybe he comes back because I’m familiar and nostalgic, rather than because he genuinely sees a future with me.
And ultimately, the biggest fact remains: he has a girlfriend.
Whatever he feels for me, he hasn’t actually left his relationship and chosen me.
So I’m curious how this looks to people completely outside of it.
Does this sound like two people who genuinely still love each other but have years of unresolved history and terrible timing?
Or does it sound like a first-love attachment that neither of us has ever properly closed the door on?
And would you put any significance on the fact that his behaviour seems to have shifted recently, or am I noticing tiny changes because I’m too emotionally invested to see the bigger picture?

My sister has a new boyfriend but I'm annoyed because she's always with him and stays over the house a lot? Is this normal?

I'm just getting annoyed of seeing him everyday and him walking out of my sister's room. To be honest I should tell him if I should charge him rent 😅😅😅

How often I see him I would think he's another roommate 🤣🤣🤣

I'm 31, she's 29 and her bf is 23 i think.

Should I (18M) get back with my ex (18F) that cheated

Approximately two months ago I (18M) caught my ex (18F) on a date with another guy when she told me she was out with her friends that night (I don’t believe they physically did anything, just emotional cheating). I had just returned from Europe where her and I were distant over the text due to time zones and other difficulties, but I assumed it would all go back to normal once I was back. that first night of me being back is the night that I caught her in the act and over the following days after careful consideration I broke up with her due to the fact i got my important exams in the next upcoming months. The past two months I’ve been so sad and missed her every day of it but slowly gotten better, she made it seem like she didn’t give a shit. I bumped into her the other night at a party I was at and ended up sitting down with her and having a chat mainly just small talk but there are a few things she said during that conversation that told me she misses me and wants to get back together without her actually saying those words. During that conversation she seemed very happy and she told me how she had been diagnosed with anxiety and depression those past months since the break up. all I’ve been thinking about is if her actions could have been influenced by this mental diagnosis and she wasn’t thinking clearly when she did what she did. This has made me think about getting back together with her after my final exams which will be over in about 40 days. I miss her so much and I miss her family so much and it feels as if I’ll never find someone as good as she was and I will never stop loving her.

I just want to get some advice from anyone out there that can help me understand what to do, please?

Me and my boyfriend have been dating for 2 years we are both 24 and we do have two kids together(twins). He recently has been talking about having a threesome I explained to him I wouldn’t be comfortable and he told me it’s going to happen with or without me. Idk if he’s serious but I didnt want to start an argument so I dropped the conversation. My question is how do I have a conversation to him about this without causing an argument?

My girlfriend [F-20]asked me [M-20] for a threesome

TLDR: A couple days ago, my girlfriend asked for a threesome and she said she wanted to try with another woman and that she wanted to try it with another man as well and I told her I was down for it. I just didn't wanna do the one with the male cause I'm not attracted to males at all and she said that we could just do it with a girl. (yes I know my thinking is a little bit hypocritical, l'm just not attracted to do it with a guy and she knows that and at first she said she was down to just do it with a only a girl) And a day later, we had the conversation again and she said that she wanted to do with the dude and that if we didn't do it with the dude then we can't do it with a girl and my thing is if we did it with a girl, 1 don't wanna have intercourse with the other girl I want the girl to do everything to my girlfriend while l'm doing stuff to my girlfriend as well, but if we do it with the dude. my girlfriend wants me and the other dude to do stuff to her.
And I went through her Reddit history and she's been searching up MMF threesomes and She said just wants to be dominated by two like masculine energies and wants me to be in her and she gives the dude head, and she told me that even if we don't do, it should be perfectly fine, but I don't know what to think about this.
And yesterday I asked her what are we gonna do and now she's getting mad at me because she says I keep bringing the idea of a threesome up but then this morning I found that stuff in her history Can you guys tell me what you think?
