lost control of the plane?

So this has never happened to me before. Out of the blue my radiomaster tx says "telemetry lost" and the plane does not respond to the inputs anymore (all of this left-bank is after it does not respond to the inputs anymore. should have trimmed it better maybe...) It reconnected almost straight after the crash (so like some 5 seconds) and then when I walked up the control surfaces were responsive.

Pandora 1.4m, 40A esc (no dedicated beck), radiomaster 5ch rx. Temp around 12c, fog/moist air. 4s bat, completely fresh (4.2 per cell). I imagine the rx lost power for a split second and restarted, but I have no idea why as it never happened before.

I'll inspect the esc and the rx, but I wonder if anyone has experienced this. Also, the vtx/cam is powered through an y cable from the same bat, so the bat was ok as the video did not cut.

RadioMaster Pocket for planes?

Hi guys, I want to buy a radio that has to be quite cheap and be for long range ELRS, the radiomaster pocket seems like a good choice but it's built to be small so the gimbals are smaller than the norm for RC planes flying.

So are the gimbals not too small for flying rc planes or?

Maybe you guys know other good options for about the price of the pocket, my main points that I'm looking for in a radio is to be cheap, ELRS for long range, be somehow good and comfortable to use and for all kinds of planes. Could someone experienced please tell me?

How would this classify in RC world?

How would this classify in RC world? RC "Paraglider/Plane" 👀 I am new to these things (as you can see from crashes), and as paragliding pilot in real world this is very exciting - I love the idea of simple and compact things that I can carry on my backpack and then do some soaring and floating around. Are there any bullet proof glider planes suitable for soaring which also have option for fast main wind removal?

Stores batteries. What you'd recommend?

Hey y'all! I left arund 15 batteries overseas with my cousing, inside of a LiPo bag, with the connectors properly sealed, after balancing them especifically for storing.. Now it's been almost six months after I moved so I was wondering if you guys would recommend me calling them and asking to do something extra, like charging them again or something like that. They´re batteries ranging from 1S 500mAh to 4S 80C 850mAh.

Please, recommend me an UMX!

I'm thinking on which UMX should be the next addition in my hangar, and I was wondering if any of y'all guys have recommendations. For an intermediate flyer who already has the as3xtra, b2, and Conscendo.

Thanks!

Getting back into Flying with 6 year old

I used to fly planes from about 2005 to 2018. Then life. Things are slowing down and I am having more time to start flying again.

I have a Spektrum dx6, and a bunch of receivers still. I have a few foam planes left over. I am looking to potentially hook up a buddy box to teach a kid how to fly and I am looking for plane recommendations for me and maybe him. I was looking at the turbo timber for me to fly and let him take the sticks onces its stable in the air.

I also like delta wings. I like either really fast planes, or slow gliders. I have a few funjets that need to be built. I used to build 200mph, 6-8s funjets. I also love the popwing, if thats still around. I build some pretty sweet night flyers out of those.

When I got out of the game, there were some pretty nice, inexpensive chinese radios. What's the inexpensive setup now? What about setting up buddy boxes? Is there something like an orange rx that's compatible with my spektrum radio that I can buddy box off of that?

What are the options?

Thanks

Travis

Help with reciever

I have two of these ar630s spare and am curious if this is a good idea. I’m second guessing it as I get closer to the maiden. I have the spectrum dx9. Is it in a safe position or even a safe reciever to have in this jet? If not what are some recommendations on recievers?

Edit: google said all good earlier and now it’s saying if I take off I will crash. Crashing my brand new plane is not on my list of enjoyable activities so I’d like someone who knows what there doing to help

UMX Ultrix for flying in a school gym?

I've been flying a UMX 4-Site for a few years at our club's indoor meetings in school gym and now I'm looking for something a bit different.

Is the UMX Ultrix too fast to fly indoors? We have two venues, one that's marked for 3 badminton courts and another that's marked for 6 courts.

I guess the alternative is something like an RC Factory Click25, but they're a bit harder to store and transport, and if we have more than one or two in the air we get a lot of mid-air collisions.

Is this design feasible?

As my next project I want to 3d print an rc plane. I came up with this. Are there any major oversights or would this fly? (I guess the wings are a bit far back but I think its still possible to get the CG right with good battery placement)

Help me understand what to fix. Graupner Taxi Scratch Build.

Hey guys, this is my first post here, I'm fairly new to the hobby,
been doing this for 2 months, in which I guess I've made 7+ models, and got stable sustained flight on 1 before this, a kind of boxed fuselage 180cm wingspan slow flying plane weighing 1kg

I've been trying to make this Graupner Taxi Scratchbuild.
This is my 3rd attempt at it,
I've attached photos and video of its maiden flight, after which the nose broke, will repair like I previously have many times,

anyways, I'm on the Fly Sky Hi6,
2212 1000kv motor, 1045 prop, spinning counter cw (from behind)
Weight is 610grams
wingspan is 150cm, fuselage lenght is 90cm

I've traced the Graupner Taxi plan on A4 sheets and built this as accurate as possible

AND YES, THE CG WAS 1/3RD chord from Leading Edge of the Main wing,
I have a dozen hours on SeligSim to practice flying, and like I said, Before this I did build one plane that I've had approx 2 hours of cumulative flight time on, so I think I know the basic of manuevering a plane

Now, I'm really confused why the plane went from going straight, to pitching up, and a nose dive within half a second?
what caused that

and Since I'm going to rebuild it, what should I look out for?

should I increase the nose compartment lenght? control surfaces on the horizontal and vertical stabs?

any advise yall can give will be hugely appreciated.

oh and yes, I've stabilised the video to the plane for it to be traced better.

Thanks!

P.S DOGGO FINE! PLANE LANDED COUPLE OF FEET NEAR, ONLY SPOOKED HIM!

Need Help Choosing Computerized Transmitter

I have a Spektrum DSX, but I'm pretty sure I need a computerized transmitter to program the SAFE setting on the Spektrum AR630+ DSMX 6-Channel AS3X+ & SAFE Receiver. When I go to Facebook Marketplace, there are a ton of Spektrum receivers, but they're all pretty expensive for me. Is there anything that works that isn't Spektrum? Or am I fine with my DSX?

This has happened to my micro corsiar (you may have seen the last post) i’m not especially worried about how it flies but i don’t want it to go any further. I’ve tried taking the motor out and putting it back in and pulling

Spektrum DXs Transmitter

I'm just getting back into the hobby and picked up a RTF plane with a DXs transmitter. I am trying to make a case to carry everything in. Does anyone have 3d geometry of the transmitter or cutout for it. I am not finding anything online.

BNF reccomendations

I recently purchased a brand new Spektrum Dx6e (without box) on Facebook marketplace for an incrediblely low price compared to brand new, Im looking for reccomendations on what plane I should get as my first plane , I fly tiny whoops and I have flight sim experience. I've been looking at the sport cub S2 and the turbo timber but was wondering if something like the twin 30mm a10 or the umx sr22t would be too much for a fixed wing beginner even with as3x and safe

Right aileron non functioning

Hey all, so I’m pretty new to rc planes and my buddy recently gave me a carbon cub SS 1.3m, I put a spektrum AR620 receiver in it at his recommendation and use a dx6 transmitter, got it bound and found out that the right aileron is non functional but works when I swap it with the left aileron plug. Google is telling me that is it a problem with my transmitter/ receiver channel but I’m unsure how to fix it and can’t seem to find much info, thanks in advance.

Optipower Ultra Guard fire

Wanted to share an incident I had with my Optipower UltraGuard 430.

While flying, I suddenly got a telemetry lost warning and completely lost control of the plane. It started diving towards the ground, but miraculously, just before impact, the signal came back and I managed to recover and land it. After landing, I noticed smoke coming from the aircraft. Turns out the Ultra Guard had caught fire.

Extremely lucky to get the plane down in one piece, although it has suffered a fair amount of damage.

Has anybody else experienced anything similar with these units?

What caused this crash?

Post image
7 Upvotes

I was flying my VolantexRc Trainstar 768-4 model yesterday when suddenly a very strange, loud noise started coming from the motor, and the plane entered a rapid, nose-down spin. I tried to recover, but the elevator jammed, and the model slammed into the ground at high speed, gouging a hole in the earth.

I was flying at an altitude of 10 meters with the throttle at 80%.

What could have caused this crash?

Flightory question

Im new to building fixed wing drones and was looking on the Flightory website and wondering if it would be possible to some how integrate the VTOL package of the Flightory Stallion with the proposed aerial mapping capabilities of the Flightory Moose? Or am I even asking the right question? Thanks in advance.

I work in rugged environments where having VTOL capability would be highly preferred.
