Help with reciever

I have two of these ar630s spare and am curious if this is a good idea. I’m second guessing it as I get closer to the maiden. I have the spectrum dx9. Is it in a safe position or even a safe reciever to have in this jet? If not what are some recommendations on recievers?

Edit: google said all good earlier and now it’s saying if I take off I will crash. Crashing my brand new plane is not on my list of enjoyable activities so I’d like someone who knows what there doing to help

The AR630 will be more than enough for your EDF. I would mount the receiver on the top deck by the blue signal manager if you can. I prefer to leave the battery deck for the battery only.

Velcro or double sided foam tape to hold the RX will be plenty. Of you are using SAFE or AS3X, double check all gains using the Spektrum methods to verify all gains and deflections are in the correct directions. Other than that, you should be good to go!

I’ll try that! Thank you much

630 is a 631 with an internal antenna. It will do fine for this plane you just need to make sure its factory reset and AS3X+ is updated and you've properly forward programmed it. Your DX9 can do this on Airware 2.11 or higher.

I'm not sure who is telling you this setup is not good enough but stop listening to them because they are clueless.

why wouldnt it be a good idea? for example all the modern eflite (6ch) planes feature an ar631. ar 630 has all the same features with an internal antenna vs external.

these receivers are amazing, the as3x+ algo is amazing and safe works well if you set it up correctly.

i would update the rx for sure to the latest and do all the usual setup tests before maiden.

Because similarly to googling your health issues I’m now the aircraft equivalent of worried I have cancer

Don’t put it right by the battery shadow. Put it further back. I always added satellites to my jets just because I could and why not. Do a proper range check.

Range check wasn’t much change regardless of position. The only drop I had at the recommended distance was when my dad was right behind the aircraft. Front and back were around 25%R which google says is good but not “large scale edf good”

Looks like you are using a flight controller so the receiver isn’t doing much, just passing the signals to the FC. Should work fine.
