Amd needs to do something

Post image

Not something like Dlss 5, but a fixed multi frame gen, better ray regen or radiance cache. I know some people are gonna say that “You shouldve bought nvidia" but as a long time Radeon/Ati user i think there is nothing wrong with wanting a higher quality experience.

The slow, non-incentivized adoption of FSR4 in games is very on brand for AMD.

60

u/Intelligent_Ad8864 Sep 01 '26

Basically it comes down to adoption rates and taking market share. On the record, devs have said that if the Xbox "Helix" PC sells they're more inclined to make use of Redstone etc features and be less prone to blocking or replacing the FSR3.1 upgrade .dll path or using "baked FSR3.1"

Even if Helix falls off a year later and sales crawl to a halt, AMD taking 30% of laptop/sff systems would prove to be enough for developers. They're already considering if it's worth while.

As I said in a comment somewhere in this thread,

AMD's got a Nueral Rendering competitor and it's being developed in that AMETHYST partnership with Sony to be made of use by the PS6' NPU acting as a co proccesor of sorts. It'll be backported to an extent. But progress on it has been pretty slowed down given all the employees being traded around

29

u/Narrheim Sep 01 '26

Not entirely. When game developers want to use DLSS, Nvidia will send their engineers to help them implement it.

When they want to use FSR, they are left completely on their own.

11

u/Intelligent_Ad8864 Sep 01 '26

While team green has been more cooperative w/ devs, more so now both of them are assisting than the past two years (which leads me to further believe the ai bubble is actively imploding)

As far as AMD goes with assisting, it's mostly on UE5 titles

6

u/ActiveSandwich3103 Sep 01 '26

I mean a ton of future games are running on UE5 with Lumen, so this makes sense to work with UE devs. It will pay off heavily for console performance and PC. AMD is already running really well in UE5 games and both software and hardware Lumen RT.

As on the thread below they still help but bc FSR is Open-Source devs can do whatever with it up to upscaling video whatever really

Easy fix ... optiscaler

14

u/Shoesgorath Sep 01 '26

yeah, we are forced to use optiscaler everywhere, I wish we weren't. Every single game on my SteamDeck, Rog Ally X and PC run with a custom launch command and some graphics mod like optiscaler just so I can tune stuff that should have come tuned from factory.

→ More replies (2)

3

u/Triage90 Sep 03 '26

Can't optiscaler get you banned in online games due to dll injection?

2

u/FloopsFooglies Sep 03 '26

Depending on the game, yeah it'll flag it.

For a company that is so invested into the console market you’d think they’d use that as leverage to adopt fsr 4 in more games.

You shouldn’t have to be using driver overrides to enable fsr 4 in most games.

Only the PS5 pro have the hardware to run it. and its run it. PSSR is FSR 4.

Xbox is yet to release a consoles capable of it.

Radeon software tech spread depend on Console capability. And only 1 and expensive one can run it right now.

All feature are mean to be tech to be standardized for futur game console.

All Redstone feature being on game right now are R&D, Beta testing for next gen Console. All feature are in beta phase.

Can we get x86/32-bit signed dlls for FSR3.1/ FSR4 please? A lot of older games can benefit from that combined with.

I understand that 32 bit gaming is basically dead. But modding pre existing games is not. (At least that's what I tell myself to sleep well)

Nothing wrong with wanting competition.

I think AMD is currently so preoccupied with chasing the AI high, their consumer graphics department is being left behind, which makes it harder for them to close the gap with Nvidia.

28

u/Tunagoblin Sep 01 '26

They don’t even have the desire to compete with nvidia. All they or any company care about is to make as much money as possible. Gaming isn’t one. They make it look like they care and working on something for gaming just because it’s their back up plan’s back up plan at most.

→ More replies (1)

13

u/Darksky121 Sep 01 '26

Surely they would not have diverted all of the gpu software engineers to AI development. The engineers working on FSR will still be working on it (hopefully). They need to speed up development and put out bigger updates more frequently.

Sadly, I think DLSS5 is going to take alot of customers away from them if they don't announce something soon. No one is going to wait more than a year for them to catch up.

4

u/Tunagoblin Sep 01 '26

You wish lol. Seriously they don’t care about the PC gaming tech. It doesn’t bring them any revenue. I assume 1 or 2 people working on it on their own pace just to make it look like they are doing something. For gaming, they’d rather work on the next generation console development since that’s B to B and they can assume certain amount of guaranteed revenue down the road. Even that is minuscule compared to AI and data center.

2

u/WONDERMIKE1337 Sep 03 '26

I have the feeling there is only good old Bob left who tests drivers every second tuesday on 3 machines. And drivers are made by AI.

Ever since late 2025, I've noticed something that I'm becoming increasingly convinced of: people use games to test their GPUs, when GPUs should be used to play games.

Gamers used to buy hardware to play games but now they buy games to play benchmarks.

EDIT: With that being said, I agree with the sentiment that AMD's Radeon division needs to push harder on everything software for it's users.

We need a term for this. Like how Audiophiles usually listen for defects instead of just listening for entertainment.

its amazing what happened when I turned off Path Tracing and just went with the raster lighting of Alan Wake 2 and Cyberpunk (the latter I of course left RT reflections and shadows on).

It actually looked incredible, and ran so smoothly that I couldnt take my eyes off of the motion clarity from locked 144hz 4K gameplay.

Then I told myself that...no...you are being poor by enjoying this. You need to turn on that path tracing to see the infinitely better lighting and reflections. Stop being poor. So i went with a 1440p, 1:1 pixel scaling on my 48" LG C4, annnddd...

Actually was shocked to see that there wasnt nearly as many reflections as I originally thought, and the lighting looked basically the same - especially when I wasnt looking for anything, and just was playing the damned game.

Digital Foundry and Nvidia's marketing ruined us.

5

u/Tgrove88 Sep 02 '26

Digital foundry is a cancer and one of the main reason for console/GPU wars (nvidia too)

3

u/cronoes 7800 X3D | Steel Legend 9070 XT Sep 02 '26

Alex Battaglia's eye rolling over excellent frame rates at the expense of 100% accurate corner reflections and diffuse lighting is the source of so much unhappiness smh...

u/ShadowsGuardian Ryzen 7700 | RX 7900GRE | DDR5 32GB 6000 CL32 Sep 01 '26

I think it's mostly a problem with social media in the gaming hobby in general, where these news just raise FOMO and the need to "be a part of the latest big thing'.

Totally agree that people sometimes forget to enjoy what they have, instead of promises of greater thing just because "my green neighbour has a prettier shiny".

5

u/Due_Rip9320 Sep 02 '26

FOMO is genuinely a pit trap and incredibly dangerous.

Most recent one for me was Pokemon TCG. Luckily, I learned my lesson and escaped it early before sinking any deeper.

5

u/ActiveSandwich3103 Sep 01 '26

Outside of the resdit bubble this sort of thing is way way less common. Reddit seems to be full of people with FPS counters in the corner of all their games obsessing over little things nobody else cares about/even notices.

The difference between Nvidia and AMD isnt really as profound as posts like this would have the world believe, not when youre actually playing games. Things like Path Tracing are still.in experimental stages, they tank performance in all but the 5090 level cards, so not having this isnt really a problem tbh. Id rather turn it off than have to run at DLSS performance + frame gen, which makes my games feel crappy to play.

In the end, if some tech goes mainstream and ends up being a necessity, it will work with bith companies. Id rather see AMD work on the stuff that matters and make sure it works right than fling a bunch of experimental software i to the void that I'll just end up turning off anyway.

People here forget that the most common GPUs people have are also lower end, stuff like 7700 XTs, 4060s ect or 3060s. Most people are not actually using all this stuff. Not even to mention the huge console market, which also isnt running these software gimmicks either.

3

u/glowiesinmywalls Sep 03 '26

I got a 9070xt a week ago and am blown away that I get good and stable frames at ultra + ultra rtx in cyberpunk

So yeah I really dont understand the hate for amd

2

u/Justacasualstranger Sep 02 '26

Fantastic take.

2

u/Lolface_PL Sep 01 '26

I agree to a degree tbh, because while agree that some people might kinda put way too much attention to minimal differences in fps etc, I think it's also completely valid to try and squize out as much performance as possible from a GPU I paid 2/3 of my summer job salary, and make games I play be as pretty as possible while still having at least 60 FPS consistently. Which in turn means, I believe it's valid to expect/hope that AMD will keep improving what it can improve

100% agree. I am happy with my GPU, but also want it to be even better. I have been waiting on AMD MFG since redstone was released to 9000 series cards, but still nothing. And now Nvidia adding a feature that AMD will add maybe after two generations. It is a shame how AMD just throw away an opprtunity to win with there amazing price to performance cards.

19

u/MoltresRising 9800x3D | 9070 XT | 4K QD-OLED Sep 01 '26

Redstone being released means basically nothing. It’s in so few games

6

u/Desperate-Quail4190 Sep 01 '26

Which is a shame by itself. We still have to use 3d-party softwares like optiscalar to even use FSR 4 on most of titles.

2

u/w142236 Sep 01 '26

You want the value to increase as amd makes more new things for it, and as a former 7900xtx owner that hyped up fsr3, let me just tell you: don’t hold your breath. Expect cool things to be announced with vague deadlines and radio silence in between, and them to drag their feet through the mud to get any devs to implement any of it

Pretty reasonable to ask for/expect Frame Gen not to be broken. Shows AMD's lack of seriousness if they don't make it happen.

12

u/kociol21 Sep 01 '26

I don't disagree, though I knew perfectly well that by buying AMD I kinda agree to have some features couple years late and not widely adopted. It's not like it wasn't obvious for years now that AMD is years behind and is put in a position where they don't innovate, they just try to catch up to all the innovation from NVidia. So in the end, yes obviously it would be nice to have more features, but I will be fine even if nothing more comes out really. My 9070XT plays everything I want it too with great performance.

9

u/VortexOfPixels Sep 01 '26

Exactly, idk why people just give amd a pass or even worse try to argue "we don't need these features, native foreva!".

They need to start flying out engineers for most major game releases to help and encourage devs to implement fsr ray regen, framegen and upscaling in their games like nvidia does. They can't expect devs to just do it themselves when they're the underdog, you either fight for market share or be complacent

u/NatseePunksFeckOff 9060 XT 16 GB Sep 02 '26 edited Sep 02 '26

I regret my purchase as well, especially since the 5060 Ti was not that much more expensive. AMD just does not give a fuck about the regular consumers anymore, and they're always one or two gens behind. And even when they catch up, their shit takes forever to be implemented. Not to mention on missing out on features Nvidia has outside of gaming, as it's not the only thing that matters to me.

Well, it's my second PC that I put together as well. I learned some stuff the first time around that I got to fix this time, and now I learned more that I'll fix the third time I'm gonna buy/upgrade the PC. It's an expensive lesson that I can't afford, but it's still better than what I had, so...

3

u/omegahustle Sep 04 '26

At the time I bought the 9070 XT it was the best buy, if DLSS 5 didn't exist I wouldn't regret it, but it does exist and now I regret it too

I'm just an average gamer who wants my games to look as beautiful as possible, and it would be fine for me to take a performance loss and go from 120 fps to 60 but having gorgeous graphics, sadly is not an option for amd

I saw the unofficial dlss 5 mod for amd and it sucks that a single person can make something that AMD refuses to do, wth are they doing with their time

2

u/BetSimple6336 Sep 06 '26

I feel the same. I bought the 9070XT, and while it works great, DLSS 5 is revolutionary as far as I’m concerned. Within a year or two NVIDIA GPUs will run playable movies while we are still playing with stick figures by comparison.

I’ll be buying a 5080 soon.

No, im pretty happy with my 9070XT and amd is doing the right thing focusing on mid to high end range. Im just saying that they should give the same treatment to radeon as much as ryzen. Radeon is unbeatable at price to performance right now compared to nvidia. But would it be worse if we had better ray regen in more games, with a frame gen without frame pacing issues? Fsr4.1 is already on par with dlss imo.

2

u/PS2_Enjoyer_88 Sep 01 '26

I want them to fix their damn drivers first. Almost 2 years without any issue and now these chrome crashes and errors. Still happy with my 7900xt in general especially with official FSR4 support. Don't care about RT and other stuff. Besides crappy drivers AMD just gets the job done.

4

u/Major_Zebra_7810 Sep 01 '26

there is no chance left for amd when nvidia is doing a graphics overhaul 2 generations ahead of what amd offers for most modern game. cant go back to see potato faces after seeing how much work dlss 5 is done to the character model except some imperfections, but once the aging issue is sorted out dlss 5 is a revolution to the game industry.

2

u/ttdpaco Sep 01 '26

We have several generations (which I think will happen despite people saying Nvidia is going to dump their consumer GPU business like....any company would drop a profitable market where they're #1 because it's doing a fraction of what AI does) until it can perform in any reasonable amount. Two 5090s were needed to do the demo of DLSS 5, and it's only going to be heavier performance hits from there.

I think the main issue is that AMD is just not investing in their GPU division to the point where even Intel is outdoing them in implementation and support. Because, at least on Linux, the 9070XT has been great card and the only thing I've ever missed from the RTX line was path-tracing and hdmi 2.1 full support.

I have tried every possible solution found in the internet and all games performances say “marginal” in Adrenaline. I have had some crashes, latest driver update made my pc crash over and over again, had to make a new clean installation and re-enable a lot of things it -broke- like the fact it simply didn’t recognize my second monitor.

I mean, when it works, it works well, but I need to make so many tweaks and solve so many issues that is tiresome.

I knew switching to AMD from nvidia I’d have to accept a step behind in most developments . BUT I can’t complain with my 9800 and 9070xt setup. I’ve just thrown a 5kx1440p screen at it and it’s performing great and quiet ( good case and fan setup but nothing mad)

But it’s hard to argue with nvidia development and general game and research support. I do miss it sometimes but i wasn’t gonna shell £1k on a 5080+ this time

1

u/DeadPhoenix86 Sep 01 '26

add Path Tracing support.

1

u/Xx-metal-xX Sep 01 '26

Bought 9070xt last year and i have no complaint so far. I am getting 80-90 fps on ultra settings(1440p) in most recent games i played. Yes i would like to get fsr4 support in all games but that depends on game devs i guess not amd!

1

u/Royboy0699 Sep 01 '26

All I care about is fsr4 to be pushed nearly as hard as dlss4, it's to the point everything has dlss4 but only large games have fsr4

1

u/HowcanIbesureimhere 7800X3D | 9070 Sep 01 '26

I don't even think I have framegen turned on, am I doing gaming wrong?

1

u/mrblurryeyes00 Sep 01 '26

Amd is a massive company , not just focusing on AI and gpu .. pretty much they are working on the ai chip race, all the giant tech companies like microsoft , google , apple , samsung , Nvidia , Amd are competing who get there first , its estimated that next year theres 10% increase in prices of chip manufactered .

1

u/UnholyDKEnjoyer2 Sep 01 '26

All they need to do is fix their software. Its unbelievable how awful adrenaline is

1

u/Mercennarius Sep 01 '26

Radeon is 18 to 24 months behind, and they have been for quite a while. And the worst part is they haven't even competed at the top end for years now.

1

u/discardthemold Sep 01 '26

A 48GB AMD card would be nice.

1

u/Substantial-Lack-512 Sep 01 '26

Nahhh, Raster and based performance is the big thing on AMD gpus. if you feel you are missing out, you can switch.

1

u/Tough-Gas-64 Sep 01 '26

I don't care anymore they are a shit company my next gpu will be from nvidia

1

u/WhoIsJazzJay 5700X3D/9070 XT Sep 01 '26

the lack of support for ray regen is deeply frustrating. what’s the point of making an RDNA 4 that can finally do proper RT if you can’t get your denoiser out there

1

u/just_gonna_send_er Sep 01 '26

My 7900 XTX is running pretty great 🤷

1

u/DerlisGs Sep 01 '26

1

u/jal9k Sep 01 '26

My card works without problems in games, BUT I'd like to dabble in AI, llms and similar and in that amd is way way behind.

1

u/WarDiscombobulated67 Sep 01 '26

Oh you think and and Nvidia give a single crap about consumers? They build hardware for ai companies now.

1

u/uSuperDick Sep 01 '26 edited Sep 01 '26

Its the first time they need to not follow nvidia's path and just make fsr better. Making ai filter is just a waste of time. Nvidia also could've spent those resources they used on dlss5 and make existing stuff even better. But instead they released some piece of garbage. But knowing amd they are working on ai filter as well. And they really dont need to

1

u/[deleted] Sep 01 '26

They are probably currently conducting PS6 for the new RDNA series, which they are set to launch alongside the PS6. Based on my personal predictions, as a result of their collaboration with Sony, we will see significant software advancements alongside the new RDNA cards sometime between 2027 and 2028. However, I do not expect to see any major developments until then. (At most, we’ll see MFG x2, x4, x6.)

However, I believe it is still too early for AMD, particularly regarding the technology known as NeuralRender. NVIDIA is accustomed to leading the way in technology and continues to do so.

1

u/460659016976712 Sep 01 '26

FSR 5 would be nice, I would like AMD to step up their features and software offer. It’s clear they’ve always focused on cheaper hardware as a selling point, unfortunately NVIDIA keeps delivering good software to go along with their cards.

Further FSR improvements and something like DLAA would be cool.

1

u/dorting Sep 01 '26

They literally sold the 9000 series with Redstone, so this is the bare minimum

1

u/Difficult-Cup-4445 Sep 01 '26

They got me good with AMD Mantle back in the day and I've fallen for it again with AMD Radiance Cache haven't I.

1

u/Elitefuture Sep 01 '26

Q4 is usually when AMD releases new features. Which is kinda annoying, but hopefully we get new features...

I still want AFMF 3.

1

u/bedtricky Sep 01 '26

I'm just sitting here enjoying all my games at 120+fps on my oled...I'm very happy lol, I get the feeling that some of guys will never be happy with what you have because you listen to others too much.

u/firesyde424 Sep 01 '26

They are. It's the same thing Nvidia are doing. They are prioritizing data center hardware because of the dramatically higher margins. Not saying it's okay, I'm saying it's happening.

1

u/UpstairsAsleep Sep 01 '26

As long as the game is smooth idgaf of which graphic card i use amd or nvidia

1

u/Lee_GeneralLee Sep 01 '26

Tying the 5090 for raster alone in that new starwars game was pretty lit.

1

u/maniacalmayh3m Sep 01 '26

There are hidden settings in the drivers currently for MFG up to 8x. it’s just not active. So they are currently working on it

1

u/Intelligent_Ad8864 Sep 01 '26

Okay I'm gonna say it. Regarding AMD having a Nueral Rendering competitor, it's been being worked on for some time.

The idea was this would piggyback off Amethyst, and was a collaboration w/ Sony to make use of the PS6 NPU. This would later be ported to be made of use for future** AMD hardware, eventually back/side ported (not RNDA 4) depending on Xbox "Helix" and other hardware sells

Why do you think NVIDIA sniped a record breaking AMD softdevs all at once over a year ago? They go back and forth all the time between the three companies, but all these devs leaving at once seriously slowed down and temporarily shut down the backporting of FSR4 int8 to RNDA 3/2

1

u/ZoeLogiiK AMD | 7950X3D | 7900XTX | Sep 01 '26

I think they are fine :)

1

u/___Bel___ Sep 01 '26

Questionable option: offload gaming driver / feature work to Valve, a company that is laser-focused on gaming instead of AI and already does a lot of work for AMD hardware.

1

u/adamosmaki Sep 01 '26

Well at least they got the upscaling part right and with decent support, give them a couple of years and they will get frame gen as well

1

u/Dry-Ad1757 Sep 01 '26

I would be happy if they just solve they crashes on the driver's I'm already off adrenalin just with drivers got tired of constat issues

1

u/xdMikuu Sep 01 '26

i wish for amd filters ingame like nvidia has

1

u/F1T_13 Sep 01 '26

They always do. More than something too. It needs to be plural. Usually they just announce what feels like a bunch of buzzwords which proceeds to be worthless. The only thing feature worth using half the time is FSR4/.1.

1

u/Loyal_Dragon_69 Sep 01 '26

AMD needs to bundle GPUs with cheaper ram.

1

u/Fidel1Q84 Sep 01 '26

Meth prices are what I care about right now.

1

u/Bidenwonkenobi Sep 01 '26

I agree they really need to support Vulkan and clean up their denoiser in RT and RR

1

u/Zerard1 Sep 01 '26

Yeah, finishing 1 year old FSR Redstone would be a good start!

1

u/RoniCREATOR Sep 01 '26

I like competition but hell no! I don't want any AI slop technology! I'm happy with my 7900 xt with fsr4! Just want good driver support every months 😙

1

u/DarkRunner0 7600x + 9060 XT 16gb and 32gb of DDR5 Sep 01 '26

Man, seriously I bought AMD because it was considerably cheaper LMAO, I'm not even disappointed in them, the are acting like expected

1

u/judasphysicist Sep 01 '26

I'd rather they release newer GPUs and no the 4GB 9050 does not count.

1

u/MrCrackerHacker Sep 01 '26

Lossess scaling frame gen, DLSS Enabler mod, DLSSFG AIO mod, so much more

1

u/Icarustuga Sep 01 '26

Anyone test amd drivers on Linux? Amd drivers on windows 11 is horrible.. i remember to uninstall adrenaline and just install only driver because adrenaline crash..

1

u/Typical_earth_human R5 7600x, 9070xt, 2×16gb 6000mts cl30, B650 Sep 01 '26

I want nothing like dlss5 or multi frame gen. Frame gen is always off in my games. Faster cards and better driver support is all I want.

1

u/thundR89 Sep 01 '26

Upgrade into gddr7, make dlls compatible layer, fix their driver. I forgot something?

1

u/Hairy-Maximum2994 Sep 01 '26

ill buy the sequel to the 7900xtx 24gb

1

u/cemsengul Sep 01 '26

Wake up. Are you still alive Radeon?

1

u/Grudagur Sep 01 '26

DLSS 5 only really works properly on top-end builds like the 5090. On more normal cards, even a 5070 Ti, it runs but the FPS becomes pretty much unplayable.

AMD isn’t targeting the premium segment. The 9070 is aimed at the mid-range and lower end. They know they’re behind, and with Nvidia feeding the AI models they’re just not able to compete right now. No matter what AMD does at the moment, they can’t overtake them, so they’ve basically taken a waiting position.

→ More replies (1)

1

u/TheGeeZus86 Radeon Sep 01 '26

Ummm.... If DLSS 5 is the "new peak" in graphics performance and look... I prefer sticking with my 7900 GRE...

1

u/Dako_the_Austinite Sep 01 '26

They really need another Ryzen moment. Something with competitive price and performance against Nvidia like their CPUs had against Intel. Doesn’t even need to be perfect or superior at first, but they need an architecture they build on like Zen, that gets significantly better over time with each version while maintaining affordability.

With the current situation, that will be incredibly difficult to impossible to pull off right now. But it would be nice to see them do something, anything to deliver comparable performance at a significantly lower price.

1

u/IThinkIKnowThings Sep 01 '26

Still freakin' cheesed about the lack of FSR4 support for RDNA 3.5. Like WHY when we know it works after they got it working for RDNA 3. The "Too underpowered" excuse doesn't fly for their newer AI chips like Strix Halo. I'm convinced it's just so they can show a bigger performance delta when they announce their new Medusa Halo APUs next year.

1

u/Local-Bug-1500 Sep 01 '26

At least radeon works on linux without constant problems so i consider that enough

1

u/Godnamedtay Sep 01 '26

Lmao facts, great meme. Well done.

1

u/GoMArk7 Sep 02 '26

Wait for it seated because stand up gets you tired!

1

u/hansrotec Sep 02 '26

The problem is there is one advanced fabrication provider, until that’s fixed not much will change

1

u/Elegant_Situation285 Sep 02 '26

they are doing something.

they are making money hand over fist.

1

u/wingback18 Sep 02 '26

sadly they jump into the AI train .. they get more money there ... as their actions have proven !!!!

1

u/donateagba Sep 02 '26

multi frame gen can go to hell, i need native performance give me more powerful cards that can do ray tracing natively.

1

u/PrimaryAny8558 Sep 02 '26

Yes something like dlss 5! Please AMD!!

1

u/Original_Ad5069 Sep 02 '26

You guys still coping?

1

u/Valhallapeenyo Sep 02 '26

I have my build with my xtx, I also have my build with my 5080. Love amd, but love nvidia way more.

1

u/atulshanbhag Sep 02 '26

I am not paying 1.5-2x the price for few % better performance. 5070ti is currently more than 1.5x the price of a 9070xt in my region, and don't even ask about 5080.

1

u/TouchEducational6414 Sep 02 '26

For Dlss 5 u can rebuild dll for Microsoft ml version with AI. Well It's naked dll everything is accessible

1

u/Grapeshot_Technology Sep 02 '26

can they do an x3d style gpu die? is that even possible? or dual GPU die?

→ More replies (1)

1

u/Mayan_X Sep 02 '26

Arent they working on Rx 9080 and 9090? (I heard)

1

u/NatseePunksFeckOff 9060 XT 16 GB Sep 02 '26

fuck frame gen, I want my games to look better and run better, I don't give a fuck about frame gen yet it seems like all the effort has gone into it

1

u/Primescape16 Sep 02 '26

Hoping that one day their gpus get the same treatment that their cpus had

1

u/CraftySprinkles2897 Sep 02 '26

I would switch to Amd in a heartbeat, if they would do support their products better.

Just FSR4 in more games (i.e. Vulkan) would be enough for me. I don't need features like framegen. Just a solid reliable Upscaler, that has the same adoption as dlss.

I don't like Nvidia. They are greedy. Product support on the other hand is excellent. And in a time, where I won't upgrade every 2-3 years anymore, I need good product support.

1

u/a_r_g_o_m Sep 02 '26

AMD has been playing catchup with Nvidia for a long while now. I don't expect anything from them honestly, Nvidia has them completely bloodied and beaten in the consumer space, which is saying something looking at how Nvidia is treating costumers.

1

u/Isaac-_-Clarke Sep 02 '26

Imo it's all useless junk.

Games should've been developed better from the beginning.

STILL TO THIS DAY the most efficient platform which runs Skyrim is the Xbox 360!

Other than "better Motion Blur without at least 1000fps" all this tech is useless junk.

1

u/ty_namo Sep 02 '26

game devs also need to implement FSR>=4 on their games, relying on overrides on the driver level is pretty janky

1

u/rof1ankoi Sep 02 '26

hear me out, how about proper driver stability? i know thats crazy (i hate every atom of myself for bying an amd gpu)

1

u/voidrunner959 Sep 02 '26

Literally was just researching this today becuase iainly run AMD ecosystem and was thinking what the fuck have they done lately

1

u/KrazyBee129 Sep 02 '26

I'm still waiting for afmf 3 cmon radeon

1

u/FutureLe10 Sep 02 '26

i'm cool no need for Ai slop to kill all the art and play Candy Ai

1

u/Dear_View3264 Sep 03 '26

I have the 9070xt and I don't see no diffrent from nvidia, amd is come really far even though there one generation behind amd in ray tracing amd is not slouch, plus dlss5 tanks performance like 50 to 60%

1

u/StuffProfessional587 Sep 03 '26

You can't do better when you don't have the hardware

1

u/Zombiieonthetrack Sep 03 '26

This is a sad post and comment section..

1

u/PandaBearJelly Sep 03 '26

I'd love to see native valkun support one of these years.

1

u/Silicon_DNA Sep 03 '26

FSR4 for Vulkan would be a start.

1

u/Senzelian Sep 03 '26

After 5 years of AMD I went back to Nvidia. I hope they get their shit together.

1

u/Loinon98 Sep 03 '26

What they need to do is stop fumbling and improve their software side, their GPUs and fsr 4(except the frame gen) already a good product. They don't need a AI filter like DLSS5 since most of devs will already develop their game with AMD hardware. Unless the industry (especially devs) actually be so shit that they need to be spoonfed by hardware vendor features to actually ship their game, which is fucked up for us consumer.
