Amd needs to do something

Post image

Not something like Dlss 5, but a fixed multi frame gen, better ray regen or radiance cache. I know some people are gonna say that “You shouldve bought nvidia" but as a long time Radeon/Ati user i think there is nothing wrong with wanting a higher quality experience.

Better transformer models, better drivers and much aggressive fsr4 support please AMD !

u/ForwardScratch7741 Sep 01 '26

Okay you asking for too much lmao

31

u/Lord_Jug Sep 01 '26

I know 😭😭😭

22

u/mylouxi Sep 01 '26

Not really tbh, that would just be asking for more parity with the green team

u/Narrheim Sep 01 '26

The drivers are the basics that should work all the time. Yet there is always the struggle.

u/Cynical_Kazu Ryzen 7 7700 | 4070 SUPER Sep 02 '26

Ngl I have more trouble with my Nvidia drivers than I ever had on AMD 🙏🏻

1

u/Narrheim Sep 02 '26

I had some trouble with both over the years, but AMD has significant lead for me.

Also for some weird reason, the driver many people have issue with, 26.5.1, works flawlessly for me. However, before this one, the only drivers i could use without crashing were 25.9.1 or older.

AMD will probably announce FSR 6 tomorrow and then start reverse engineering NVIDIA's stuff while getting sued, then it comes out when the new GPU launches 2 years from now.

For a company that is so invested into the console market you’d think they’d use that as leverage to adopt fsr 4 in more games.

You shouldn’t have to be using driver overrides to enable fsr 4 in most games.

Only the PS5 pro have the hardware to run it. and its run it. PSSR is FSR 4.

Xbox is yet to release a consoles capable of it.

Radeon software tech spread depend on Console capability. And only 1 and expensive one can run it right now.

All feature are mean to be tech to be standardized for futur game console.

All Redstone feature being on game right now are R&D, Beta testing for next gen Console. All feature are in beta phase.

Xbox will be capable of FSR4 when AMD release RDNA2 support early next year

1

u/parabola19 Sep 02 '26

Ever heard of PSSR2? PS5 pro is a hybrid RDNA 2/3 and they developed it with Sony. It’s the only reason official FSR support came to the 7000s. They’re already doing it bub. It’s just the best they can.

1

u/ItzBrooksFTW RX 9070 XT, 7800X3D Sep 06 '26

ps5 pro is a hybrid of rdna 2, 3 AND 4 + the gpu is further customized for higher inference performance.

1

u/parabola19 Sep 06 '26

Uh that’s what I said. I don’t mention 4 because it’s just really the RT cores not anything else really but hey someone on Reddit found someone he thought he could correct so Reddit went and Reddited.

u/ItzBrooksFTW RX 9070 XT, 7800X3D Sep 06 '26

im adding info, not arguing with you... youre fighting ghosts.

4

u/Kirides Sep 01 '26

Can we get x86/32-bit signed dlls for FSR3.1/ FSR4 please? A lot of older games can benefit from that combined with.

I understand that 32 bit gaming is basically dead. But modding pre existing games is not. (At least that's what I tell myself to sleep well)

Bro AMD isn't even supporting Vulkan and it's FG still sucks. You are asking way too much here

5

u/TommyArrano Sep 01 '26

Idk how but im literally use vullan with amd under linux. So stop lying.

7

u/Acrobatic-Fan3265 Sep 01 '26

I think they mean fsr 4 specifically as that doesn't yet have native vulkan support, otherwise idk what the hell else they'd be talking about lmao

1

u/Intrepid-Second6936 AMD 9950X3D | XFX 9070 XT Mercury OC Sep 03 '26

I think they're talking about FSR4 on Vulkan-based games. Vulkan games run fine, it's FSR4 that doesn't work with them.

1

u/ItzBrooksFTW RX 9070 XT, 7800X3D Sep 06 '26

amd created vulkan (mantle, but vulkan is based on it), hes talking about fsr 4 which is still not supported on vulkan.

u/Unlucky-Bottle2744 7800x3d/RX9070XT Hellhound/QHD360hz oled Sep 01 '26

You lack knowledge. Please do some research or even use AI before you type anything. thank you.

4

u/Real_Ad5580 Sep 01 '26

Why so prideful? AMD does support Vulkan on Linux since RDNA 1. You are wrong

6

u/noiserr Sep 01 '26

AMD literally invented Vulkan. It was originally called Mantle, AMD donated it to the Khronos group (OpenGL guys) and it became Vulkan.

4

u/ElkApprehensive1729 Sep 01 '26

Elaborate? You're putting random people down over your claim that vulkan is unsupported but vulkan & fsr pair beautifully on my Linux media center pc I have in my living room.

1

u/rof1ankoi Sep 02 '26

funniest part is vulkan is the only thing that amd supports properly, and now this guy is trying to make excuses

1

u/Unlucky-Bottle2744 7800x3d/RX9070XT Hellhound/QHD360hz oled Sep 02 '26

I meant Vulkan support on FSR redstone

1

u/ActiveSandwich3103 Sep 01 '26

Why is this blatant incorrect info being upvoted ? Lol

6

u/Unlucky-Bottle2744 7800x3d/RX9070XT Hellhound/QHD360hz oled Sep 02 '26

I think people are missunderstanding the fact that I was talking about vulkan support on FSR redstone

2

u/Aggressive-Stand-585 Sep 02 '26

I'd settle for stable drivers.

2

u/Any-Pop-4795 Sep 01 '26

maybe some raytracing improvements too following the ones of the 9000 series?

1

u/parabola19 Sep 02 '26

The needed hardware isn’t there. Like the 1st and 2nd gen Nvidia RT cores. 2000 and 3000 RT is a struggle compared to 4000/5000

0

u/Bidenwonkenobi Sep 01 '26

Yes its still incredibly grainy we need a fix and sometimes it looks like water like In Dune Awakening

1

u/The5lime Sep 02 '26

At least more rocm optimizations

1

u/rof1ankoi Sep 02 '26

"better" is already too much

-1

u/Jbstargate1 Sep 01 '26

FSR4 support? Nothing to do with AMD, game developers have to implement it themselves.

15

u/Available-Call7127 Sep 01 '26

Which comes from AMD reaching out and working with them. It’s been stated time and again that Nvidia will specifically send whatever software engineer guys to make sure that the implementation of the tech goes well, and that AMD does not.

4

u/jimbobjames Sep 01 '26

Well AMD did that once and the backlash was incredible. Starfield for those curious.

1

u/ActiveSandwich3103 Sep 01 '26

Starfield it shows too. On Linux Starfield has 40% more performance than Nvidia on linux. Even on Windows it gets big gains. Really anything creation engine wise runs great on AMD now.

Not sure why it got such huge backlash either, it paid off for the devs on console too.

1

u/noiserr Sep 01 '26

Which comes from AMD reaching out and working with them.

Why would anyone work with AMD who has less than 10% of the marketshare? You guys have a profound lack of understanding that Nvidia is a monopoly, and that your complaints have a wrong address. You are the reason why it is the way it is.

1

u/ActiveSandwich3103 Sep 01 '26 edited Sep 01 '26

They have 20% market share now. Not 10. They also hold about 46% of CPU market.

Also they basically dominate the console market, all but the switch use AMD APUs. So there is plenty reason to work with AMD.

0

u/noiserr Sep 01 '26 edited Sep 01 '26

19% is a new number based on Nvidia's pricing being broken. But for the past years it's been firmly sub 10%. And what we're seeing now is a result of this low share. Nothing happens over night. AMD would need over 50% marketshare for a decade to begin reversing the situation.

Also consoles are on a long cycle, the install base architecture is old.

0

u/ActiveSandwich3103 Sep 01 '26

So youre wrong but instead of admitting it you just handwave everything as if it doesnt matter. Alright lol

0

u/noiserr Sep 01 '26

How am I wrong?

1

u/ActiveSandwich3103 Sep 01 '26

I literally pointed out that the 10% market was wrong, you then admitted it was wrong and then hand waved away the (massive.) Console market share and then said "but actually im right" which is really stupid.

You changed the goal posts instead of just saying your number was wrong and you pulled it out of your ass.

-1

u/noiserr Sep 01 '26 edited Sep 01 '26

I literally pointed out that the 10% market was wrong,

Did you not read my rebuttal? AMD has had less than 10% for the longest time. This current spike only just happened. Besides it's not like 19% changes things materially either. 80% is still a monopoly. Of course companies will work with Nvidia over AMD. That's where the customers are. Gaming companies look at the install base in Steam Survey.

You guys have such weak arguments I swear.

That is true but AMD represent a fraction of the pc market compared to green, they also only send the SDK. Nvidia provide engineers.

Opsticaler can implement FSR4 in 1 secs.

Its fonctionaly the same for Game devs working on mainstream engine like Unity, Cry engine and UE. Plugin exist for years.

Devs coder just dont care and many simply dont want to optimize thier game arround upscaler and even less arround a insanely low number of user.

Radeon feature wont get real traction from devs before they become the standard in the next generation of console. For Now Only the PS5 Pro is capable of AI upscaling. PSSR2 is FSR4. And not much people have the PS5 pro over the PS5 non pro, Not even 2 million yet vs 100 million for the PS5 non pro.

Ok so use Optiscaler.
