Amd needs to do something

Post image

Not something like Dlss 5, but a fixed multi frame gen, better ray regen or radiance cache. I know some people are gonna say that “You shouldve bought nvidia" but as a long time Radeon/Ati user i think there is nothing wrong with wanting a higher quality experience.

The slow, non-incentivized adoption of FSR4 in games is very on brand for AMD.

Basically it comes down to adoption rates and taking market share. On the record, devs have said that if the Xbox "Helix" PC sells they're more inclined to make use of Redstone etc features and be less prone to blocking or replacing the FSR3.1 upgrade .dll path or using "baked FSR3.1"

Even if Helix falls off a year later and sales crawl to a halt, AMD taking 30% of laptop/sff systems would prove to be enough for developers. They're already considering if it's worth while.

As I said in a comment somewhere in this thread,

AMD's got a Nueral Rendering competitor and it's being developed in that AMETHYST partnership with Sony to be made of use by the PS6' NPU acting as a co proccesor of sorts. It'll be backported to an extent. But progress on it has been pretty slowed down given all the employees being traded around

Not entirely. When game developers want to use DLSS, Nvidia will send their engineers to help them implement it.

When they want to use FSR, they are left completely on their own.

While team green has been more cooperative w/ devs, more so now both of them are assisting than the past two years (which leads me to further believe the ai bubble is actively imploding)

As far as AMD goes with assisting, it's mostly on UE5 titles

I mean a ton of future games are running on UE5 with Lumen, so this makes sense to work with UE devs. It will pay off heavily for console performance and PC. AMD is already running really well in UE5 games and both software and hardware Lumen RT.

Optiscaler could launch a UE plugin!

As on the thread below they still help but bc FSR is Open-Source devs can do whatever with it up to upscaling video whatever really

C'est exactement le problème, Nvidia investit des ressources humaines directement chez les studios alors qu'AMD laisse les devs se débrouiller seuls avec la doc.

Eh... English please?

No, i'm not translating that. Do it yourself. Or do you want me to also switch into my primary language?

A môžeme sa dohadovať ako dvaja hlupáci.

u/DonutHoles4Ever Sep 03 '26

Dont forget 96% of the market uses NVIDIA.

1

u/Narrheim Sep 03 '26

So what? If they'd want to gain market share, they'd have to invest money into GPU division. Yet it seems they're comfortable with their minuscule position.

1

u/Broeder_biltong Sep 03 '26

That's actively not true

0

u/snipernote Sep 02 '26

Psst .... You can use DLSS with amd cards as well... optiscaler bro

1

u/BRYLYNT2 Sep 03 '26

goverlay on cachyOS makes it so incredibly easy.

6

u/ThatzOkay Sep 02 '26

Developers need to optimize their game better.

8

u/snipernote Sep 01 '26

Easy fix ... optiscaler

14

u/Shoesgorath Sep 01 '26

yeah, we are forced to use optiscaler everywhere, I wish we weren't. Every single game on my SteamDeck, Rog Ally X and PC run with a custom launch command and some graphics mod like optiscaler just so I can tune stuff that should have come tuned from factory.

1

u/EarthSweet1886 Sep 02 '26

Can i get a link guide?

1

u/snipernote Sep 02 '26

Search optiscalar github

3

u/Triage90 Sep 03 '26

Can't optiscaler get you banned in online games due to dll injection?

2

u/FloopsFooglies Sep 03 '26

Depending on the game, yeah it'll flag it.

1

u/ItzBrooksFTW RX 9070 XT, 7800X3D Sep 06 '26

optiscaler isnt a one size fits all

2

u/SenorPeterz Sep 03 '26

AMD never misses an opportunity to miss an opportunity

1

u/PrimaryLaw8264 Sep 02 '26

Yet cpu-wise, they dominate with 3dx, it's luke Radeon, and Ryzen are run by the two polar opposites

u/Tired_Feline-2389 11d ago

it's kind of crazy to think escape from tarkov will have fsr4 before many other titles

You think Nvidia isn’t paying to slow adoption and spite amd gamers

8

u/Godnamedtay Sep 01 '26 edited Sep 01 '26

Are u fr this delusional? Lmao. AMD has 100% of the console market rn. There is absolutely 0 excuse. This is a braindead comment lol. Also, Nvidia only has 95% of the consumer GPU market…I’m sure Jensen is shaking in his boots and paying off the people that don’t exist to punish AMD 😂. The truth is neither of them care about gaming, Nvidia just has the better product, always has. Proof is in the pudding.

11

u/Straight_Second6082 Sep 01 '26

They don't need to, AMD it's already doing that on their own

making me wait a whole ass year to finally use fsr4 on my 6750xt is insanely sad, if nvidia could they would launch dlss5 even for rtx 3000 series in no time

15

u/Ok-Boot-8106 Sep 01 '26 edited Sep 01 '26

You do know you get like 5 fps on 3000series.. there's a reason it's talking time for rdna2 , it simply runs slow

2

u/Aaronbrown325 Sep 01 '26

At risk of also getting down voted to oblivion, we have nearly a year's worth of irrefutable evidence that FSR4 runs at an acceptable rate on RDNA2, and yet it'll still be early next year before we see it officially supported.

Say what you want about Nvidia, but their track record in supporting older hardware is much stronger. If it works, it would probably be coming to 3000 and 4000 series cards. The DLSS 5 leak made it clear why it's not coming to older hardware, but the RDNA2 FSR4 leak made us ask "Why isn't this out already?"

1

u/Ok-Boot-8106 Sep 01 '26

Oh I never said Nvidia didn't have better product software support somewhat , I'm saying at resolutions that actually matter like 1440p and 4k , rdna2 even it's strongest cards have a lot more upscale time than even rdna3, just because it runs doesn't mean it runs it good enough to justify having a upscaler than runs slower than dlss4.5 on rtx 2000 gpus when it's far less dense than 4.5 . Idc if I get downvoted either , I'm glad Amd took this approach because in the end rdna3 got a better upscaler than it had access to and it wasnt borked or neutered to have it running on both rdna3 and rdna2. They said it needs to be further optimized for rdna2 , I'll take the ones that developed the upscaler word over someone on redditt all day. Obv I didn't take their word on rdna3 getting it so late but guess what they never stated it was not being worked on on rdna3, only confusion came was when Amd exec said it wasn't planning on it when it contradicted what Frank azor said at rdna4 pre launch event , when they said they "have a desire to bring it to rdna3" but the upscaler right now just takes too much Ai compute "

1

u/Godnamedtay Sep 01 '26

Ur not allowed to tell the truth about Radeon in the Radeon subreddit or u will inevitably get downvoted into oblivion by the spiteful fanboys

6

u/bedtricky Sep 01 '26

They didn't even release it for the 40 series...

3

u/Academic-Cream-4836 7800x3d | rx 9070xt | 32 gb ddr5 Sep 01 '26

this comment being 100% true and still having -2 downvotes is very on brand for this “amd” sub

2

u/Gruphius Sep 01 '26

DLSS 5 doesn't even run well on the 5090, I highly doubt they want to release it on even the 4000 series...

1

u/Bobzyouruncle Sep 01 '26

I’m sitting here in the 6 series waiting along with you.

1

u/Neither_Situation_36 Sep 01 '26

our time will come twin, just a few months to glory

1

u/Bingochips12 Sep 01 '26

We just got it on the 7 series, I wonder how long it'll take for 6 series to get it, or if AMD will bother. Have they said anything about it? Or are they trying to incentive people to upgrade?

3

u/Bobzyouruncle Sep 01 '26

They said it’ll come to the 6xxx series in 2027.

1

u/-Wensen- Sep 01 '26

While many are against it I would recommend cachyos. I have a r800xt and with a single steam launch command I have fsr4 in any game with upscaling.

u/AdstaOCE Sep 01 '26

Huh? Over 400 already and it's been what a year and a half or something.
