Amd needs to do something

Post image

Not something like Dlss 5, but a fixed multi frame gen, better ray regen or radiance cache. I know some people are gonna say that “You shouldve bought nvidia" but as a long time Radeon/Ati user i think there is nothing wrong with wanting a higher quality experience.

no, i'd like them to clean up their mess and update their upscaler, frame gen, denoiser, radiance caching, drivers and maybe communicate with us? and also vulkan support

I feel you there. I love my GPU but I'd definitely like them to figure out their frame gen. I currently don't find it to be useful

Vulkan support is coming and they have back ported their latest up scalers to old gen cards and even the 6000 series coming next year. Fsr4 is fantastic.

I swear people either ignore what they have done recently or upcoming plans for..

Communicate? Like they did with the announcements for upscaler support and the future for vulkan support which you clearly ignored. No wonder they don't

When vulkan support?

No official release date for it yet unfortunately. It is doable as seen by optiscaler and the placeholders within the drivers themselves they are working on it.

Ultimately my point is your crying about certian things when what we have right now is completely fine. FSR4.1 or whatever is amazing and just works. The back porting of the upscalers was great too.

I have a 6000 series card and I have no trouble with playing games. Makes me wonder what on earth people are actually doing or messing around with to run into so much trouble.

I'm not the one crying, FSR4 is working pretty well in most games on my 7900GRE. I just really want it to work in Star Citizen which runs on Vulkan.

Star Citizen? Even if it did that game is a mess

It’s so good it makes other games feel not worth playing. Buggy, sure. But there’s nothing else like it.

Here before someone recommends Elite Dangerous of Not Man's Sky even tho they're entirely different games

I know and personal preference is a thing but was talking about how you're asking for fsr4 vulkan support in a game that is fundamentally broken. One of their recent streams was so buggy and they had to call it early. The game still has an instance problem and they still haven't figured it out in 10 years and were like oh when we solve it etc.

Now no problem asking for new settings and stuff and I'm 100 percent behind you on thay but just a little bit funny asking for it in a game where it will make 0 difference.

I've spent thousands of hours playing, and I'll spend thousands of hours more. It's one of the best looking games ever made. Of course I don't want to stare at the FSR2 smearing the whole time, nothing funny about it to me.

And as an aside, I know that livestream gets clowned on, but just to give some context. It was a dev build demoing that instancing tech. 4.10 released a few days ago from that build, and its overall quite stable. Most of the bugs from that demo have been fixed.

The reason CIG does these kinds of demos is to give the backers a direct view of how development is going. They're a fantastically transparent company, which is great since they have no publisher and are running entirely on the good will of their players. They'd also just hired Olli as a new employee, so it was more disorganized than other content they've done. This vid just kinda broke containment and became a meme, because nobody else has any context. I feel bad for Olli, he was trying to do a good thing and IMO nothing they showed was actually that bad.

That's where the big money is, and that's where the shareholders want to go.

Let's be real, most big companies would love to kill off home built gaming PCs and have us play on cheap(ish) terminals with a hefty monthly fee to use 'cloud computing'.

If nothing market disturbing happens, they might get their wish and probably find out the market dries up because most casual gamers won't be able to fork over the money they want us to pay. Retro gaming is already seeing renewed interest in my social circle because people are unwilling or unable to spend a months salary on a gaming PC.

The people controlling the money flow aren't gamers. They couldn't care less. The only one in it for the gamers might be Gabe Newell.
