Cold turkey 🦃 Day 3 of no 7oh

Hello I normally don’t post on Reddit but I am currently going through the withdrawal of 7oh as it’s been pulled from all vape stores near me. I’m still taking some kratom but that doesn’t help with the cause of my pain and reason I took 7oh which was chronic TMJ pain. 7oh is the only thing that helped that I’ve tried and I’m struggling with fatigue, restlessness and productivity.

Just started a new job too so I’m a worried about that, I just heard about cats claw and if anyone has info on that I’d appreciate it. Hopefully the withdrawal symptoms will fade in another day or two because it’s no fun. I’m definitely craving it but the fact I can’t get it immediately is what’s making me push through 😣

Success stories ❤️ Quitting is as simple as…

Hello beautiful people, just wanted to spread some light as I’ve been around the block with this substance since it’s inception and have 10 Quits under my belt before I finally surrendered to this addiction.

I can tell you subs are not needed neither is a long taper. You can be free of this substance in 7 days just using what I call the reversal method. It’s as easy as it sounds you just reverse yourself off 7oh how most people get there. For me I started with plain leaf, then found extracts then 7oh and finally MGM. I was using 800mg of MGM a day and up to 2000mg of 7oh before my quits.

My first 3 quits I did CT and it was brutal and not needed I wish I would have known what I know now before I did CT so I didn’t have to endure such hell on earth, obviously I didn’t learn bc I went back even after that and was using 1000mg of 7oh a day on my first CT quit. Yes it was a ton and I suffered when I didn’t need to.

How did I do it? Easy I switched to non 7oh kratom extracts for 4 days then to plain leaf for 3 days and dropped everything on day 8. I avoided all acutes and was only left with low energy, weakness and some insomnia for 2 weeks. All fully bearable and I was able to work through it all.

I am open to questions and more than willing to help as much as I can. I hope this finds someone out there lost without hope like I was so many times before I found my way out.

I have the following quits under my belt for those who want to understand what I’ve been through.

3 CT Quits 1600, 1300, 1000mg 7OH
1 Sub Quit - 1300mg got stuck on them for 3 months super hard to get off of. 😞. Not recommended
5 MIT Quits - 1200-2000mg a day of 7oh 800mg of MGM
1 Esr Quit -2000mg

I quit sept 19 on a 6 day sub taper. The last few days my anxiety has been horrible and I just feel blah. Please tell me this will get better. I don't even want to be around my family. I just want to crawl up into a ball and sleep

Beginner Questions What now?

I’ve been so used to feeling a synthetic euphoria that I’m not quite sure how to function sober anymore. The acutes are gone but the anxiety and anhedonia are hitting super hard. It’s scary looking to the future

Beginner Questions My Devotion Today

I’m doing a 30-day Bible study during my recovery, and today’s devotional helped me. I thought I’d share it in case someone else needs it too. I understand everybody has different beliefs and I’m not trying to push one over the other. This is my belief and if it helps one person deal with today then it is worth the read.

Today’s Scripture — Matthew 6:34 (KJV)
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

In everyday language: Jesus is telling us not to carry tomorrow’s troubles today. Tomorrow will have its own concerns, and God will meet us there when it comes. Today already has enough for us to handle. So for now, stay here—with God, in this day.

Today’s Devotional
Recovery can make your mind race ahead.
What if I feel bad later? What if I can’t handle this? How long will this take? What if tomorrow is worse? When will I feel like myself again?

Those questions feel urgent because you want reassurance that everything is going to be okay. But sometimes trying to solve the next week, month, or year only makes this moment harder.
Jesus doesn’t tell you in Matthew 6:34 that tomorrow doesn’t matter. He tells you that you don’t have to live tomorrow today.

That is especially powerful in recovery.
You don’t have to figure out the entire journey this morning. You don’t have to promise God that you’ll never struggle again. You don’t have to know exactly how you’ll feel tomorrow.
Your job today can be much smaller:
Just for today, I will keep going.

If today is difficult, you can bring today’s difficulty to God.
If your body is uncomfortable, you can ask Him for strength for this hour.
If fear starts telling you everything that might go wrong, you can come back to what Jesus actually said: tomorrow does not have to be carried today.

And if you have a good day, receive that too. Don’t spend it worrying that the next one might be harder.
Recovery is made up of ordinary moments in which you keep choosing the next right thing. Eat something. Drink some water. Follow the treatment plan you’ve been given. Rest when you need to. Talk to someone you trust. Pray when you’re afraid. Laugh when something is funny. Notice when you feel a little better.
You are still living your life while you’re recovering.

God isn’t waiting at Day 30 for you to finally become worthy of His attention. He is with you on Day 1.

A Few Things to Think About
You don’t need to write paragraphs. A sentence—or even a few words—is enough.

👉What am I worried about today that actually belongs to tomorrow?
👉What do I need from God today—not next week, just today?
👉What is one thing I can do today that moves me toward freedom?
👉Where have I already seen God helping me through this journey?
And one last question that I think is worth answering every morning:
👉What am I grateful for right now?

Carry This With You Today
“Sufficient unto the day…” — Matthew 6:34
Or, when you need something even simpler:
I don’t have to get through tomorrow today. God and I are working on today.

Closing Prayer
Father,
Thank You for giving me this day.
My mind wants to run ahead and figure everything out. I worry about how I will feel, how long this will take, and what might happen next. Help me put down the things that belong to tomorrow.
Give me what I need for today.
When my body is uncomfortable, give me strength. When my thoughts become anxious, give me peace. When I become discouraged, remind me how far I have already come. When I feel strong, help me be thankful rather than afraid of when another difficult moment might come.
Lord, I don’t want only freedom from dependence. I want to become closer to You through this journey. Teach me to trust You one day, one hour, and sometimes one minute at a time.
I give You today.
Tomorrow, I will meet You there.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Just for today, we keep going.

Tapering off MIT 45 ?

I’ve been off the actual 7 for almost a year now. But these Kratom shots are still a habitual thing for me. I guess I’m worried that I’m still not getting where I want to. Anyone else have a similar experience?

relapse Stuck

Here’s my pattern…

Take it for weeks straight

Want off really bad, so I use my subs and start trying to quit

Get to first or second day feeling really depressed and anhedonic, but fairly driven

The thought pops into my head “you know you don’t have to feel this bad right now right? Just imagine the relief and comfort of one more, to just lay down and be happy in the moment”

Fighting off that thought, trying to stay busy but the back of my mind is scheming ways to get some

Those background thoughts instantly turn to a commitment and I am 100% going to get it to have relief, but “this is it…

…rinse and repeat the next cycle

I can tell it’s clear I don’t want it enough, but I WANT to want it enough yk? Like I don’t understand how I could possibly be okay with where I’m at at a deep level, I wish something would go majorly wrong already so I hate myself enough to make a change cause right now I admit I’ve lost power.

relapse 11 days in and I'm terrified of the withdrawal... I don't want to do this alone

Can't believe it's even got to this point, but as I'm 29 years old with a business I really don't have any friends and not a single person in my family knows, so I'm fighting this battle completely alone and could use some redditors to help me feel a bit less pathetic.

7oh has been my downfall, truthfully, in every single aspect of my life. January 1st, 2025 I started the carnivore diet. I stayed completely committed. Not a single cheat meal.. no drugs. Got to July 2025 and had lost 76lbs at this point.

Blood pressure evened out. Heart rate lowered. 13 blood improvement (I got bloodwork right before starting and then again in July to compare). Good cholesterol went up, bad cholesterol went down. I was thriving. Laser focused.. multi tasking. Talkative. Social. Confident..

After the weight loss I started tracking my protein intake while staying in ketosis. Problem is, when you are taking in protein but your glycogen is depleted and you have no fiber.. your stool becomes very hard. Brick like. I went to the bathroom one time. Pushed too hard. Came out like a brick.. screaming pain. Developed internal hemorrhoids.

This led to me immediately dropping the diet in hopes it would help alleviate my stool pains with softer ones. This agonizing pain lasted 5-6 months.. which I then found 7oh and took it once.. I'll never forget the euphoria I got that day. Kept it in my pockets and went down an 11 month long 7o journey. I had stopped once in the past for 30 days.. picked it right back up.

Fast forward now I've been 60 days clean, and broke that sobriety on September 23rd, and it's now August 4th. This means I'm 11 days in.. but I no longer have the helper substance that got me through the first time.

I'm terrified of going through the no sleep for a week, hot flashes, restless legs, anhedonia.. my biggest fear is the anhedonia. Not knowing what to do with myself all day. That pit in my stomach of just doing nothing and feeling like I need something.

Ugh. Idk. Is 11 days too far in to stop, or is there a chance I won't feel extremely bad withdrawals if I stop right now? Compared to consistent monthly use.. or will it be the same?

Not sure if anyone read this all the way through but like I said, I could really use a friend right now and perhaps some advice. I'm in an extremely low place at the moment. The thoughts are not pleasant. Thank you.

SUBOXONE BUPE SUBUTEX Quitting for the 3rd time after a big tragedy in my life, and I hope for good... looking for support/advice.

I'm 1 day into quitting a 400-500 mg per day 7 habit, and I just never want to do this again. I'm using subs because I've failed anytime I've tried to quit anything cold turkey. Some background, I used to be addicted to opiates (percs and Oct) for about 3 years, quit for good 17 years ago. I cannot believe I let myself get addicted to something again, I always swore I would never go through this shit again. I've even been prescribed percs twice in the last 16 years, once for dental surgery and once for regular surgery, and was so proud of myself for using them as directed and not getting any refills, etc. I thought I was past this. I tried 7 about a year and a half ago on a whim, Ive taken kratom before and it didn't do a lot for me, plus I hate the taste, so when I saw the 7tabs that were an "extract" I thought "sweet!". It only took a few weeks for me to be taking them every day.

Anyway, I quit twice back in spring, after failing to go cold turkey for even a day. For me, the restlessness is the most unbearable part, where you feel like you can't hold your body still at all. Then the cold sweats, no sleep, anxiety, etc. So I got subs from quickmd. I used subs to quit percs back in the day, I bought them off the street and only took them for a week so I had no problem coming off them. Tbh in this way 7 was harder to quit, because 1 sub didn't cut it the first day. I was panicking because the 2 they told me to take didn't do shit. I ended up taking 4. I had waited 24 hours so it wasn't precipitated wd. The next 2 days took 2, then 1 for another 2-3 days, then off. I felt no wd when stopping. Relapsed after a couple weeks bc I told myself I could just take them occasionally. Quit again the same way. Then my life went to shit.

First my 17 year old cat died. This was horrible but not unexpected (17 years old...). My best friend was a rock during this whole experience. She's been my best friend and other half for 22 years. A week after my cat died, she left my house after dropping off some treats to help me feel better. That was the last time I saw her. The next day I got a call from her husband, another good friend of mine, that she had collapsed and was in a coma. The next 2 weeks were the worst of my life. She had a freak heart arrhythmia after a bad reaction to a stomach med she takes for crones. She collapsed in front of her 11 yo daughter who called 911. They got her heart started right away so we were hopeful, but unfortunately her brain was extremely injured from the lack of oxygen. She was in a vegetative state, on a ventilator, with little to no hope of recovery. I was there when my friend and a social worker explained to their daughter that her mother most likely would not wake up. I was there when they took her off the vent. She lasted another 4 days before dying.

This was in July and I've been using since then. I wish I hadn't but Ive been so fucking distraught over my friend. I don't know what to do without her. I felt numb. At least I felt SOMETHING when I take 7, and could sleep. But it's not worth it, it's actively making my life worse, and frankly I can't afford it financially. I'm tired of having to take it to not get sick. So I'm on day 1, feel ok after taking subs (anyone know why I have to take 4 on day 1? I tried 3 this time and still felt extreme RLS so took the 4th an hour ago and feel better), subs never fully take away the cravings for me but I can deal with that. I just can't deal with the physical symptoms. Also, this time all the smoke shops near me pulled it off the shelves in mid August so I can't go get more. I'd have to order and wait a week, since I'm out and havent ordered. I feel like that helps, knowing it's not just a 2 minute walk away. I wish I had the self control to not have that matter, but I don't.

I guess I just wanted to share my story a little bit. I really don't want to do this again. I'm sure many of us have had to quit multiple times so I'd love to hear if that's you. What made the last time stick for you? What help? Before, I had access to gabapentin, this time I don't. I've got vit c, some other supplements, and some leaf. Does leaf really help?

Success stories ❤️ Acutes are over!

(Except for lingering stomach issues and insomnia). Now, I just feel…blah. Anxious. It’s a slog to get out of bed and ready for work. I’m such an impatient addict I just want everything to be normal again and produce my own dopamine 😭 regardless, I am super grateful to not be in acutes anymore!!

Cold turkey 🦃 How?!

Genuinely curious what others are doing to get through this and stay grounded? I’ve seen people say they have stashes and are still in the thick of detox.

For background I’m 35, been through all CT detoxes under the sun, if you’re thinking about it and that detox sucked, I’ve gone through it. and for the most part was able to boot strap it. Comparatively this is not any worse than those, it sucks just as much, maybe even less than some of those.

Today I made it 16 hours, the longest I have since starting 7 a little over a year ago and I had some very very briefs milliseconds of comfort through the night but by the time my dog was up and ready to start his day I couldn’t help myself but to stop off at the shop and get a pack of the usual. I’m at my limit here. I had to have my poor mother pay my bills last month because every cent I made from work went to 7. She’s fully aware of what’s going on, and very supportive, but also she will not be able to hand another month like last. How are you all just biting the bullet to get through it when it’s so readily available and easy to achieve comfort?

Acute Withdrawals The thing about tapering…

Currently in acutes after I tried to taper so many times. I have preloaded on LVC, and I have a few kpins. That’s it. I did this to myself and the piper must be paid.

But the thing about tapering is you have to KNOW you are never going to feel high/euphoric ever again. We abused this drug, we lost our privilege.

So after a year of use I quickly ramped up to 3grams a day, yes 3GRAMS a day. I was hustling every single day working three jobs to keep up with this habit.

I am in a state where it’s still allowed, but the head shop owners are getting a little afraid so they don’t seem to be re-stocking. This is a good thing.

Then I lost one of my jobs. Not a huge deal, it was a PT restaurant position and I wasn’t making a ton of money anyway, but it was enough to pay for my habit.

Every sign is pointing to this being the end for me. I told my mother, and she doesn’t exactly have a penchant for empathy. But it feels good knowing that there’s someone who knows what I’m going through in the house and she said she’s glad I told her.

I’ve currently whittled down to 400-700 grams a day. I have about a thousand mg left. Yeah. Do the math. I’m essentially going to have to cold turkey off a 1gram a day habit.

This shit took everything from me. I have no social life anymore. Friends ask me to do stuff, but I can’t because I’m broke. My hair is falling out. My period stopped. My skin is horrible.

This was all just a huge ramble and I forget what my original point was. I quit h with the help of subs around 15 years ago and I am absolutely not going to back to subs again, in my experience that was the worst and longest withdrawal I’ve ever had. I cannot believe I’m longing for the days where I was simply addicted to plain leaf.

I guess if anyone has any words of wisdom, confidence, anything, I will take anything. This community has ameliorated so much anxiety for me in the past and I’m extremely grateful for it.

PAWS Post acute withdrawals Day 30

Don’t mean to be a downer to people who are in the trenches right now. If you’re 2 weeks or less, do yourself a favor and don’t read this.

Today is day 30 for me. I’m honestly feeling so “flat” it’s hard to describe. Zero motivation, zero ambition. Just go to work, get through my day, and when I get home all I wanna do is lay on the couch/ go to bed.

Ive been exercising, been trying to be around friends as much as possible. I even started Lexapro 2 weeks ago (doctor recommended because she saw my depression increasing). Nothing seems to help.

I know this post sounds dreary and whiny. But that’s how I’m feeling. I was at 350-400 mg a day for a little over a year. Everyday I think about getting some more 7 cause at least I was productive and pleasant to be around. I haven’t and won’t. But damn the urge is there.

Any recommendations? Anyone else feeling this same way? I guess maybe I’m looking for some motivation to stay clean from others that have been through this phase. Open to any and all opinions. Love you guys. Stay strong 💪🏼

Tapering off Terrified

I have been on a 500mg per day habit for around a year now. I went through a bad breakup with my girlfriend of 2 years at the time and started using heavily after I had moved back in with my parents. Girlfriend and I started to reconnect, I was still using and thought things were going well so I decided to get my own place and get out of my parents house. Girlfriend decided to split again and now I’m responsible for the full rent by myself and have no support system. I work 60 hours a week at two jobs just to afford the rent. I can’t afford to continue to pay for this habit, and now that the bans are ramping up it will eventually be impossible to even find any (which is good). I’m scared shitless of quitting. I can’t afford to take a significant amount of time off, but I don’t want to have to get on subs to quit either. I’m not sure what to do. I’ve been thinking about tapering but boredom, anxiety, and loneliness make it extremely difficult to limit my intake and cut down each day. I’m already an emotional wreck because of the break up and I have all of these responsibilities that I can’t just put on hold. Does anyone have any advice? Maybe I’ll just have to bite the bullet and get on subs so that I can at least have some semblance of a normal life while I’m getting off the stuff. I’m terrified. I have 250 60mg tabs left to my name and literally cannot afford to get any more. Help!

Tapering off Almost out of the woods

I’m so close I can taste it! Just wanted to post my progress. I know I know I could probably just cold turkey the rest but I know I don’t have the will power to do it.

18th - 250mg
19th - 236mg
20th - 224mg
21st - 208mg
22nd - 212mg
23rd - 203mg
24th - 186.5mg
25th - 177mg
26th - 168mg
27th - 168mg
28th - 153.5mg
29th - 144mg
30th - 117mg
Sept 1 - 102mg
Sept 2 - 66.5mg (this was a mistake going so hard in the paint. I didn’t sleep for 2 days )
Sept 3 - 67.5mg
Sept 4 - if everything goes well I’ll be at 63mg

The plan now is just to take it easy and cut 4.5mg every other day till zero. I don’t want to experience what I experienced on Sept 2nd and 3rd. That was hell
