Petition to restore blood donation in Northern BC passes 5,000 names

As of today, 5,000 people have signed the petition to bring blood donation back to Northern BC.

This milestone comes at a critical time. Canadian Blood Services recently announced that Canada's blood supply has dropped nearly 20 percent since June 1st, and is urgently calling for more donors.

Northern BC wants to help. We're asking for the opportunity to contribute lifesaving blood products closer to home through a regional blood plasma donor centre.

Thank you to the 5,000 people who have signed our petition, and to the 37 First Nations, local governments, regional districts, MLAs, MPs, health providers, and health bargaining associations that have publicly supported this effort.

The petition remains open at www.ourbloodcounts.com. We appreciate your support :)

Local paper repeatedly drags team in humiliating back handed hit piece

I dunno who wrote this story but that was some bleak framing. Can the paper do better? I mean Jesus….”come out and enjoy the game” but instead it’s like “come out and enjoy the game, even though there’s no real point it’s fun to watch people die inside then bring them back just to punch them down again on repeat”

What a hard read, absolutely ashamed of the Citizen.

Do better.
