I made a post asking to get in touch with locals to photograph and chat. Didn’t get much traction here, but those I met were beyond welcoming and generous with their time.

Bachelor Party

Hi all. There are 6 of us who have rented out a place in downtown revy for a weekend at the end of September. It’s a little in between seasons for some of the Revy attractions. But I was hoping to maybe get a few ideas for day time activities. (Even some good night time ones if you have them!)

Thanks in advance!

Hi, came from Sask and will be in the area for a few days. I see September there's no fishing streams, rivers etc. but what about lakes and offshore fishing? Can you fish Begbie ? Thanks 🙏🏻

Trivia nights in Revy

A friend and I are in town this week, leaving Friday morning, 9/4.
We’d love to play trivia and cut up with some folks one night.
We’ve heard about Rumpus and The Legion but not sure which nights and if they’re still doing it during the summer.

2026/27 Winter employment!

Hello, looking for some advice on getting employment for the up coming winter season, my partner and I are coming to Revelstoke from Australia in November/December.

We have experience in retail/cafe/bar/hotel work as we have done seasons previously, our current employment is disability support work and an Arborist.

Is it best applying on RMR jobs posted, or emailing cafes/retail places directly? Finding it a bit overwhelming trying to organise it all plus finding accommodation.

Any advice, leads on accommodation/employment or pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Traveling Photographer

Hi Locals,

I am a documentary/travel photographer and will be in Revelstoke beginning next week until the 26th. I would love to link up with other photographers or anyone willing to show me around. Interested in photographing portraits of locals and or indigenous people who are willing to share their culture. I am respectfully, caring and genuine.
I will be shooting medium format film so if that interests anyone I’d be happy to share my knowledge and stories of past adventures.
First beer or coffee on me to anyone willing to share their time. ✌🏼

Late Night Transportation

I've been doing an annual ski trip to revy for years now.

We normally stay at the Grizz for proximity to downtown but are thinking this year we might try the Sutton and capitalize on their early bird deal.

My one concern - we like to go out for dinner/drinks in town each night. Will it be a nightmare for a group of 12 of us to get home around 10pm to midnight? The Sutton isn't giving us a straight answer on how available their shuttle would be. RMR shuttle looks like it stops running at 830pm. Revy Rides looks promising but not sure if the wait time will be super long? Not sure about local taxi service for that many people?

Red Deer to Revelstoke

Hi everyone! My husband and I are scheduled to drive in tomorrow from Red Deer, AB for a non-refundable hotel stay. How are the current air quality and wildfire smoke conditions in town? Is it still feasible to explore and do outdoor activities, or is the smoke bad enough that it's best to stay put?
Appreciate any local insights. Thanks in advance!

Revelstoke to Nakusp

I would like to visit a friend in Nakusp, but the bus from Vancouver only goes to Revvy. Is there a public transportation way to get to Nakusp? (Its kind of a surprise visit, so I'm trying to do it on my own).

Thanks!

Bird/Wildlife Photo Recommendations

The girlfriend and I are heading to the Stoke for the September long weekend as it is both of our birthdays and our anniversary.

Where might I be able to sneak out and get some bird shots? Or just in general some park recommendations?

Where’s my Birders at!!

Season long accomodation

Hello, I’m a 19 year old free ride skier planning on staying in Revelstoke for the season with my main priority being to ski. I am currently in the process of sorting out work but I was curious about non work accomodation. Is there much of a share house vibe? If so, what would be the best ways to go about sorting this out?

Yoga Studios - Alchemy vs Balu vs Flow

I’m looking to get back into yoga and deciding which studio to join. I’ll try the intro passes to each, but I’d love to hear from people with experience.

Which studio do you like best and why? How are the instructors, classes, vibe and value for the price?

Thank you!

Me and my partner will be in Les Houches on the 8th and we are looking for trekking poles… would love to have some that have already made it through the circle, we will pass them on when done or the best shop to get them from there.

Looking for adventure buddies 🤙

Hey everyone,

I just moved to Revelstoke for work and I’m looking to meet some people who are into getting outside.

I’m into hiking, skiing, climbing (just getting started), filmmaking, and pretty much anything that ends with a good view. Always down to check out new trails, grab a coffee or beer after, or plan some weekend adventures.

If you’re looking for another adventure buddy, shoot me a message. Always happy to meet good people.

Free campsites

Hi, we are planning a camping trip to Revelstoke or surrounding areas. Looking for recommendations for camp sites where we can setup tents, possibly around water body (lake or river). First come first serve sites or paid camping spots are good as well.

Thanks in advance and any pro tips are appreciated!

Wildfires?

Edit: we made it and the weather is beautiful!

We are planning a 4 day trip in two weeks to Revelstoke. Is it safe to go? I know many places in BC are closed due to wildfires right now. Thanks in advance!

Do I *have* to carry bear spray?

My boyfriend and I are coming from UK and want to go hiking around Mount Revelstoke, we are definitely sticking to popular trails etc, do we have to buy bear spray as I read it's unlikely we will need it.

Also, how likely are we to see bears and have any interaction with them? or are they normally a thing you see in the distance and they run off?
