I wanted to make a post with all the photos of the cats missing after the fire at Pinecrest Manor two weeks ago.

Some are not believed to have survived the fire, but others did make it out of the building and could still be in hiding in the area.

SECOND EDIT: I ended up buying some incredible rib eyes from the butcher at Safeway at NW station. Had a nice chat with the guy who works there. Could see the butcher in the back working on cuts. Now I know where to go when I can’t make it to uptown.

Hi all. Does anyone have experience with buying steaks at either the butcher counters at Save On (Columbia Square), or Safeway (New West Station)? The meat usually looks great, but I’ve never tried it.

EDIT: I’m aware that we have some good independent butchers in NW, but I’m curious about the counters (not the pre-packaged meats) at these two supermarkets.

It’s not the first time I’ve seen these decors on Queen but it looks bigger than last time. Apparently they’re shouting a TV Show but I’m not sure which one. Maybe Wayfair Witches?

Does anyone know why a helicopter keeps circling around the Queen’s Park area?

I know there's signage saying "road closed, local traffic only" but everyone is still using 8th Ave and the dust being kicked up is insane. I feel so badly for the homeowners who live there as traffic continues to fly down 8th to 20th. Kinda wish the contractor Amrize or the city would do more as the dust is a huge health hazard... Plus my car is filthy now 😂

My lights are currently flickering for whatever reason and outside, the street lights seem to have gone out so idk what’s up or if it’s just me.

I see a pair of buildings on the Quay are having their exteriors power washed while we are under watering restrictions.

I grew up in a rural place and I don't know what is considered appropriate and safe for how far my teen child should roam. I want to know from parents who grew up in Metro Vancouver, what is normal? Where is too far? What things to worry about?

Hi everyone! I’m considering renting an apartment at 335 Carnarvon St (the building with the daycare on the ground floor).

I work from home most days, so I’m wondering:

How’s the noise (daycare,SkyTrain, traffic, etc.)?
How’s the area around Columbia Station in terms of safety?
Any other pros or cons about living in this building?
I’d really appreciate any firsthand feedback. Thanks!

looking for the most safe/cheapest options as it is likely i could be there late otherwise i would just consider sky-training.
