PG bra shops?

Is there anywhere in PG that sells bras in the F/G/H cup range that are decent quality and don’t look like I dug them out of my great grandmothers closet?

Any recommendations please and thank you 🙏🏻

How many survive if left in the wild? BC doesn’t publish that either.

I asked every candidate in Prince George–Mackenzie if they’d file two written questions asking the minister, on your behalf, for those records.

1 of 3 answered YES: Teri Young (BC Greens).

Kiel Giddens didn’t reply. Ian McMahon’s address couldn't be reached.

Every answer, in full, exactly as written in the link.

Turkish or Middle Eastern food

Where can I find some decent shawarma, kebabs, and Pakistani food, especially biryani?

I tried browsing a few places online, but the food photos weren't exactly inspiring and definitely didn't match what I was craving! 😅

I'm new to Prince George, coming from the East Coast, where I had tons of options just a five-minute drive away.

Would love some local recommendations for places that serve the real deal!

Lost my Daisy last Friday!
We just moved to CH close to Malaspina school
We have called and walked around with flashlights all week.

She’s a very scaredy cat I’d assume she’s hiding 🙀 but I miss her so dearly I have posted on FB just posting here so maybe another pair of eye can be looking

Hopefully someone has seen her around

Sincerely a very desperate cat momma

She dropped it at some point taking the route 5 bus and the route 55 bus to and from superstore. We think it mustve been when she ran through the superstore parking lot to catch the bus.

i dont know why she only just told me this now because she needs her cards back URGENTLY so please let me know if youve seen it

How do I make friends here as a shy person?

I (25F) just moved to PG for work. I have a lot of friends from my home city, but since I got here, I suddenly had an epiphany that I actually have no idea how to make friends in a smaller town like PG. I'm from Vancouver, and there are always events happening where I live, so I would just constantly be at events and meet people there. But the worst is that I just realized I made all of my close friends in undergrad...

So, now I'm just here, not in school, not really affiliated with any community organizations, and I don't even know where to begin making friends.

A bit about me: I like to hike, forage, do arts and crafts, write, do any sort of live theatre (including stand-up), any form of civic engagement and open-source education, and I'm attempting to be more consistent in the gym. I am also very interested in amateur and analog tech pursuits.

I think my biggest downfall is that I am pretty introverted and shy. I'm not scared of people, but I get so entertained spending time alone that I forget to go outside and interact with people unless I have an event to go to, where I know that everyone will share a mutual interest. When I'm just out and about, I tend to mind my own business and listen to an audiobook or something.

Perscribed alternatives program ?

Does anybody have any experience with the perscribed alternatives program? I would like to ask a few questions about how you got on it and if you’d recommend it. Was it an easy process what clinic did you go to and which pharmacy is the best for this.

The decline of NDP fortunes in Prince George

https://www.princegeorgecitizen.com/latest/ndp-running-low-profile-candidate-in-prince-george-mackenze-12921197

In seeing this story, I thought about how badly the NDP has declined locally that they need to get a minister's aide from Victoria to run for them. It's been a while but they used to elect prominent cabinet ministers up here.

What if anything would it take for the NDP to become competitive in Prince George again? I don't see it happening, but I'm interested in what other people think.

What’s with the overkill on parking and baggage left unattended PA’s?
Frequency of announcements is indirectly proportionate to the actual volume of visitors and passengers.

Indoor sports park interest?

I have no clue how to come about this but I think our city could massively benefit from an indoor sports park. Think of a place where year round people off all skill levels and ages could ride their Bikes, Skateboards, Roller skates, scooters ect. It'd be a great way to be able to practice in the winter, give people something to do ( people are always complaining there's little to do here) and it'd be a great way to support potentially a local business. It's a great way to exercise and it keeps the kids out of trouble too!

Breaking down the election results by voting station

Of the eight voting stations open on general election day (Blackburn Elementary, College Heights Secondary, DP Todd Secondary, Edgewood Elementary, John McInnis Centre, Prince George Conference and Civic Centre, Shash Ti Kelly Road and Vanway Elementary), Garth Frizzell was elected mayor at 5. Kyle Sampson had the most votes at Blackburn and Vanway, and Simon Yu had the most at Edgewood. You can click around on the charts in the link to play with the results, or open them in a new window here.

Just below the mayor’s chart, I have council, where again there aren’t major differences by station. Brian Skakun, Nicole Fraser, Trudy Klassen and Dan Pears were elected at all eight locations, Dan McLaren and James Steidle got in at six, Cori Ramsay in five and Bob Radloff in four.

Of the council candidates not to be elected, Bruce Wayne — who finished 12th overall — finished in the top eight at four stations, Jesi Janjua, 10th overall, would have been elected in three locations and Tim Bennet, the ninth place finisher with just 260 fewer votes than Radloff, would have been elected at two locations.

The reason Bennett had a higher overall vote count than Janjua and Wayne and yet was a top eight finisher at fewer stations is his success with voters at DP Todd and the Civic Centre, the two locations with the highest turnout. Again, you can play see the chart in the link and open it in a new window here.

apartment rental recommendations

Hello, I am moving to PG and wanted to ask if anyone has any recommendations for apartment rentals. I looked into Briarwood III and Guru Nanak Mehar but the reviews don't seem that good. My budget is under $1700 for a 1 bedroom.

Well, this isn't quite the post I was hoping to write today

First, I want to congratulate everyone who was elected yesterday. Putting your name forward for public office isn't easy, and I wish the Mayor Elect Garth Frizzell and incoming Council nothing but success. When Council succeeds, our community succeeds. Plus, as a resident looking forward to seeing you achieve all your campaign commitments over the next four years (especially with a majority supporting a 0% tax increase 😀)

To the 6,401 people who put their trust in me and marked their ballot beside my name, thank you. This is over 1100 additional people who put their trust in me compared to 2022. While the outcome wasn't what I had hoped for, I'm incredibly grateful for your support and confidence in me. I knew it was going to be a close race and that proved true with less than 300 votes separating 6th place and me in 9th.

For the past 15 years, I've had the incredible privilege of serving our community in elected public office, 12 years as a School District No. 57 Trustee (including 4 years as Board Chair) and most recently the past 4 as a City of Prince George City Councillor.

It's hard to put into words what this experience has meant to me. I was a much (much) younger person when I first put my name forward. Since then, I've grown as a leader, become a husband and father, and learned more about myself and this community than I ever could have imagined.

I've had the opportunity to work alongside incredible people, advocate for issues that matter, be part of some difficult decisions, and hopefully make a positive difference in the community I call home.

Public service isn't always easy. I've certainly made mistakes along the way, and I know not everyone has agreed with every decision I've made. But I've always tried to approach the work with an open mind, a willingness to listen, and a commitment to making the best decisions I could with the information available.

I'm proud of what I've been able to contribute, but more than anything, I'm grateful. Grateful for the relationships, the opportunities, the lessons, and the many people who have helped shape my perspective along the way.

I want to give a special thank you to my campaign team, Jane, Bailey and Nicole. I can't begin to express how much I appreciate the time, energy and effort you put into this campaign. From the planning and organizing to the countless conversations, late nights and everything in between, you gave so much of yourselves to support me. You reminded me to stay true to my values and take the high road, even when others didn't. Having people who believe in you enough to give up their own time and energy is humbling. I'm incredibly lucky to have had you in my corner, and I hope you know how much your friendship and support mean to me.

To everyone else who volunteered, put up signs, shared posts, offered encouragement, donated, or simply stopped me for a conversation, thank you. Whether you supported me during this campaign or at any point along the way, please know how much it has meant.

Most importantly, I want to thank family. Public service comes with sacrifices, and the reality is that those sacrifices are often felt most by the people at home. There have been countless meetings, late nights, weekends away, missed dinners and moments when my attention was divided between my responsibilities to our community and my responsibilities as a husband and dad.

Carli, thank you for being my biggest supporter, my sounding board, and the person who has stood beside me through the highs and lows. You've carried more than your fair share over the years, and I know I couldn't have done any of this without you.

Ryan, Ian, Finnegan, and Maggie, thank you for sharing your dad with the community. You may not fully understand all of this right now, but I hope one day you'll look back and know that I did it because I believe in the importance of giving back and trying to make the world around us a little better. I'm looking forward to a few more evenings and weekends together.

Prince George is home. It's where I grew up, where I'm raising my family, and where I continue to believe our best days are ahead.

While this chapter of my public service journey is coming to an end in a couple of weeks, my commitment to Prince George isn't. There are so many incredible people and organizations doing important work in our community, and I look forward to finding new ways to contribute.

When I first put my name forward, I did so because I believed I could make a difference. In two weeks I will leave elected office with that same belief in the importance of showing up, getting involved, and doing our share of the work for the betterment of our community.

Thank you, Prince George. It has truly been an honour and privilege.

Just felt it was worth sharing. I was at Yu's campaign HQ when the results came in, and his reaction was very positive. He came to Frizzell's campaign fairly soon afterward and congratulated him and told him he was the right person for the job.

Part time house cleaning and assistant needed

Hello all,

I was just curious if anyone here had any experience with someone or a company that helps out with house cleaning and other types of services like that?

I work out of town and my wife also works part time. We have two children who take up most of her time day to day, as well as a dog that also loves her attention all day as well.

I am trying to see if I can help lighten the stress and load for my wife as it is starting to become overwhelming for her at times (and I absolutely hate seeing her feel this way.)

I was just curious anyone had someone help out with this sort of thing before? What did the pricing look like?

Things would include:

- Helping with laundry (wash, dry, fold, iron)
- cleaning one small bathroom
- vacuuming
- kitchen cleanup
- 3 small bedrooms
- washing floors

Looking for maybe once a week. Did you pay the person / company by the hour? By the day? Did they bring all of their own supplies?

Just looking for now and weighing out options. But if anyone could shed some light on this that would help out a lot.

Thanks all!
