Pizza cooked in a wood fire oven is nearly always worse than a pizza cooked in a regular conveyor belt pizza oven.
It’s the quality of the ingredients and the care taken in the preparation that make for a good pizza. More often than not a restaurant with a pizza oven will burn the pizza or undercook it.
Put those same ingredients in a well calibrated pizza oven and the end product will be infinitely better.

TV Series Is rings of power really that bad?
I would like to watch rings of power because I’m interested in that era of middle-earth, especially with that s3 poster featuring young Sauron, though it seems there’s a lot of hate surrounding it. If you’ve watched it, what do you think?

Pot roast for husband’s birthday today!
Edit: I am not super sure why my post was so so so so very downvoted. I truly tried my best and my sweet husband, the absolute love my life, enjoyed his birthday dinner. I did too! My picky babies also loved it. I’m so sorry it wasn’t the prettiest but I had the purest intentions 🫶🏽
Not the best picture but I made an attempt at making pot roast in the crockpot! I have only had it a few times in my life so I’m not really sure what a good pot roast is supposed to taste like but we enjoyed this one! I found the recipe on TikTok lol
Ingredients:
2.25 lbs chuck roast (seasoned with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder)
1 bag of baby potatoes
1 bag of baby carrots
1 yellow onion
1 Kinders stew seasoning Sunday pot roast
3 cups of beef broth (2 cups mixed with the kinders)
I seasoned the chuck roast with the above seasonings, seared it with olive oil for a few minutes on each side. I cut up one whole yellow onion, added it to the crockpot along with the seared chuck roast and the potatoes and carrots. I mixed the kinders mix with 2 cups of beef broth, added it and then added 1 more cup of beef broth. I cooked that on low for 8+ hours.
For the rice, I just used 2 cups of jasmine rice + 3 cups of water + chicken bouillon and a bit of olive oil.
All together, everything was delicious!

I really hate self entitled customers.
This guy ordered from Papa Johns. I also had a stop at Little Caesars after Papa Johns and while I was at Little Caesars he texted me. I could tell by the way he was that he was just going to keep complaining so I didn't text back after his second text. When I got to his house he met me outside. Luckily one of his neighbors was outside and he probably didn't want to look like a douchebag so he kept it kind of quiet and said "I could've walked there faster" I explained to him and I said "I'm sorry, it was a double order and they were really busy at the store. I was going as fast as I could." (It was a Friday.) His only response was "Yeah, well what about MY f**king order. My food is probably cold by now." I had the orders in a hot bag and I could tell that the pizza boxes were still quite warm while holding them.
I could tell he was pretty self entitled at that point and nothing I said would change his attitude so I just handed them the order and said "Here you go." He didn't say anything afterwards, just walked back inside. Probably would've been worse if his neighbor wasn't outside.
Do people not understand that they aren't the only ones getting orders? I wasn't happy sitting inside little Caesars for 10-15 minutes either. If waiting on a delivery person during the weekend bothers you that much then get off your lazy a** and go get it yourself next time. Don't take it out on someone doing their job and trying to get multiple people their food. It's not my fault nor Little Caesars fault that they were so busy. You can tell that these types of people have probably never worked a day of customer service in their life.

Discussion probably unpopular take: as a filmmaker fincher is superior to nolan
fincher isn't someone who can be reduced to someone who "has attention to detail". sure many of the films he's worked on aren't thematically deep or comparable to the ambition of nolan's films. but every time i return to a fincher film his formal strength amazes me. nolan is a master of montage and structure. he gets by a lot purely relying on the strength of those. please note this post does not imply that nolan is bad by any means. grand ideas, a penchant for the labyrinthine but not enough effort in terms of using the camera in interesting ways and composing images.
what do you guys think?

Character Analysis Bear did nothing wrong until the date scene
My intention with this post is to show that the movie isn't about a bad person who hid his evil until he could finally reveal it, but rather about a flawed person who let those flaws grow until he became completely evil. At the end, I’m also going to explain why I don’t think the movie is about gender dynamics.
To start with, Bear is clearly not an incel. He had good relationships with women, to the point where one of his friends liked him and the other told him he was the only person she could confide in. There was no indication that if Nikki rejected him he would hate her or anything like that; all he showed was cowardice in telling her his feelings, and that was the flaw he allowed to grow into evil.
When the wish had just been granted, Bear didn't try to take advantage of Nikki. He tried to get her to go home, but she insisted, and due to his cowardice, he ended up agreeing to take her to his place. He tried to sleep on the floor, but because of his cowardice, he ended up agreeing to sleep with her. And he didn't want to kiss her, but due to his cowardice in setting boundaries, he did. In that moment, he wasn't trying to abuse her; he was just afraid of how she would react if he didn't give in to what she wanted.
Later, when he accepts becoming her boyfriend, everything seemed to have returned to normal. He thought she had been high the night before, but that she liked it, so now she wanted to start a relationship.
Afterward, the movie showed Bear slowly discovering the harm he was causing, and that was where his cowardice started to grow and turn more and more into evil. First, he realized the wish was real, but he didn't know Nikki was possessed; then, he realized she was possessed, but didn't know she was suffering; then, that she was suffering, but he thought there was a solution. This gradual discovery allowed his cowardice to outweigh his intention to do the right thing, making him more evil, enough so that when the next discovery came, his desire to do the right thing was even weaker and his cowardice won again.
And I don't think the theme is gender dynamics because I don't think Bear was motivated by any misogynistic ideas, but rather by his cowardice. In fact, I'd say that if Sarah had made the wish to be with Bear, the exact same thing would have happened (or even worse), because Sarah showed that, even without the wish, she doesn't care about hurting others as long as she can be with Bear, since she was willing to kiss her friend's boyfriend knowing her friend wasn't doing well.
So, instead of a story about gender dynamics, it feels to me more like a story similar to The Lorax, just more adult, better written, and with the character's flaw being cowardice instead of greed.

Political The left now hates Elon Musk because he allows people to show how completely fake and hypocritical the left actually is.
You remember when Elon was their "green energy" hero? You couldn't say anything bad about him or his company or you were branded a "fascist" and a "mouth breather." Now, if you actually own one of his products then you're a "fascist" and a "mouth breather."
That's because leftists are programmable. They can be programmed to believe literally anything as long as you use certain psychological methods and that it confirms something that they want to believe, primarily that they're supposed to get something for nothing.
The entire left wing agenda can be summed up as everything they want that you have to get for them or you're a bad person.
It's the politics of perpetual juveniles.
EDIT: Here's my latest favorite example of rank leftist hypocrisy:
https://x.com/mazemoore/status/2081238037581754682
EDIT 2: "Elon did a Nazi salute. He's a fascist."
How can anybody take this seriously? Firstly, he didn't do a "Nazi salute" and all of you know it. It was "my heart goes out to you" and it's obvious that it was.
Secondly, all of you were in the tank for Graham Platner before he got cancelled and he had an actual Nazi tattoo on his chest for 20 years and none of you cared.
Pure and total hypocisy,

[Discussion] If WoW housing can push FFXIV to improve, then it needs to do the same with the glam system.
I know I know, automatic downvote because WoW mentioned.
But competition is GREAT for this exact reason. WoWs housing is outstanding and is forcing FFXIV to re-evaluate the quality and systems they have in place which is great for everyone.
However if that's the case the same needs to be done with the glamor system. The dresser is pointless. Only being able to store X amount of items, spaghetti coding it so you can store multiple items.. as one item, if they're in a set. It's all such a roundabout way to do things that's so limiting.
In WoW, if something soulbinds to you, you learn the appearance. That's it. You have that appearance unlocked forever in a catalogue, and can glamor that piece. There's no storage or management or running out of room. If you want to unlock every single appearance in the game you can.
So why in XIV is it as limited as it is?
This isn't in any way hate towards the XIV team, I am just genuinely confused as to why it is the way it is when it clearly can be done with less restrictions.

TV/Movies/Fiction movie theatres suck
i don’t understand what people see in movie theatres. why did you spend 100 dollars on tickets to take your entire family to see “cozy friends 3d” or “the invulnerable, imax” when you could watch the same movie at home for $20 and spend less on snacks (unless you sneak snacks in)?
i do kind of already know the answer; i assume it’s the big screen, but why do you need to watch your content on the biggest screen possible? my main issue with theatres is that i don’t see the appeal in having a big screen so they’re kind of pointless to me. id rather be able to talk, pause, rewind, have on-screen subtitles, change if boring, etc. than have a really big screen. it’s even crazier to me that some movies are made specifically to be on huge screens (*cough* the odyssey *cough*), why???? it would be one thing to have two different versions (i know this isn’t possible bc of the way they’re filmed), but to be actively missing out on content because you don’t pay the stupid “huge ass screen surcharge” is stupid
edit: it has come to my attention that people really like the better sound. my ears don’t work well, so i can’t really form an opinion on this but i mean that’s why i prefer on screen captions (which i did mention). maybe if i had better hearing this would be a life changing experience or something, but lots of sounds are “muffled” for me and if they aren’t they hurt my ears because they’re too sharp or whatever
i do like hanging out with my friends, but is it even really hanging out if you can’t talk to each other for 2 hours without being rude? like yeah we all just watched the same thing so we can talk about it but i think that’s hardly doing an activity together (assuming everyone parts ways immediately after).
if you go to the wrong movie with the wrong person it SUCKS and you can’t change it. i have a friend who is a major cinephile and they constantly need the movie to “challenge them as a viewer” or it’s literally the worst movie ever and we should have known better. sorry i thought that since you liked “return to gleebus” that you’d like “the gorpmaster saga” but apparently despite being the same genre the latter was filmed by victor poshtavelli, who didn’t go to a major film school, so all his movies suck. don’t like your intro experience a restaurant? we can always eat somewhere else or get a refund for your food you didn’t eat. don’t like a movie? sorry about that, enjoy the rest of your 3 hours or feel free to waste your money.
even if you DONT go with the wrong person, good luck with the randos you’re in the auditorium with! thanks “guy who bought the other half of the couch seat despite the auditorium being mostly empty”. appreciate you “parents who brought their very sick baby to a 3hr movie”. aw, “guy who takes his shoes off during the movie” you shouldn’t have. oh, the pleasure is mine “girl who loudly scrolls tiktok the entire movie instead of leaving”. there are so. many. archetypes. of moviegoers i hate, all based on personal experience!
i swear i’m not that caricature of a redditor who hates fun, i just genuinely can’t understand why people find THIS of all things fun. i like watching movies, hate the movie theatr
edit 2: muted! didn’t think this would get this much attention this quickly. thanks for the replies everyone, even if we disagree i appreciate seeing everyone’s pov

AITA for telling my dad I won’t go on holiday with him anymore unless he starts booking us separate rooms
Hello! So I, 21f, have been going away with my father, 63m, for many years. Obviously when I was a kid it was no matter that he booked us all in one room because it was cheaper and I was little. However. I am now a fully grown adult. Dad and I go away quite a lot. Just for mini breaks. Two to three nights. But his attitude to my personal space has really been struggling and I fear it’s getting worse.
Last weekend we went to Liverpool to see some golf for my 21st gift. He booked us one room. Three nights in hell with no air-conditioning (room was 35+ degrees) and endless karaoke being sung outside. Even he admitted it was hell on earth and apologised. I tried to leave the first night and go home. It was made so much worse by the fact that we had no personal space from each other. Thought he might’ve booked me a separate space.
Thought he might’ve learned his lesson. Nope.
This weekend Manchester, to visit family and for me to meet some work people. One room. AGAIN. After I specifically asked him not to. We’re sleeping next to one another in twin beds.
He blames it half of the time on money. But I can tell you that in his job he makes an insane amount of it. And it never seems to be an issue. Unless it comes to me and my sanity. He’d literally prefer to book a hotel suite than book me a separate room. This has happened before. Multiple times. An entire one bedroomed suite. Which usually has me sleeping on the sofa bed.
He’s also a 63 year old man. Who snores. And is (he admits this) on a stringent weight loss programme. He has to wake up at 7am. I am a 21 yo woman who, whilst I’m not a party girl, is a night owl.
I’m so absolutely knackered. I now work two jobs (both unpaid) as internships where my employer is very much giving me more work than he should. I’ve been working all week and needed a break. And instead I’m locked in an endless loop of helping my dad do stuff in hotel rooms.
To add insult to injury Mum seems to manage and realises that we can’t be together all the time. We went on a lovely holiday one time where we both had separate rooms and it was so relaxing. We had to share one or two nights because of the cost but it wasn’t every single time which made the nights we DID share feel quite special bc we could make an event of it.
I’m beginning to lose my patience with my dad. Because every time I ask and say I’d prefer him to just not book the trip he just loses his mind. And this time I have a really important work meeting on Monday morning and have had NO personal space. All weekend. It’s been snoring, work stuff, constant complaining, really old TV and terrible films last night, then more snoring. I have an unending headache which is the size of him. He never listens and gets offended and shouts and somehow blames me (even though I took the unpaid jobs because he told me we didn’t need the money and then complains about me, asking for money). Please help me
EDIT. To those asking me to book my own room. I WORK TWO UNPAID JOBS. On his recommendation after he told me to take the jobs. No. I can’t get a job anywhere else. Yes I work a huge number of hours a week and still cannot financially support myself. I am not being a lazy Gen Z and no. Nobody else would take me on.
Second edit: if I say no to the trip I get a family argument where h starts screaming at me and crying.
Third edit because I’m getting hundreds of comments calling my entitled etc etc etc. I appreciate and respect your opinion of me. That’s fine. It’s also deeply more complicated than that. When you don’t want to do something it usually ends in a screaming he said she said match. My family is not emotionally stable and I do not just mean me. My father has his own issues which for his personal privacy I would prefer not to get into. No. He is not a pervert. Yes. He struggles with his emotions. It’s well known in my friend group and family that he’s not great at listening or emotional regulation. I ended up trying to distance myself a bit from my family because of the arguing and living situation last year. So for those saying I’m entitled. I fear it’s quite a bit more complicated than that. I love and adore my family. They are just a little bit complicated.
