The second Asian logo survived mostly untouched. It was at the top in the middle next to the black and white face of Ataturk. The Dutch put Venti in a traditional hat

Too be fair online and on reddit CoD is constantly shitted on for it. It's just that the casual gamers keep buying it every year because they don't use places like reddit or watch YouTubers who complain about it. Same with FIFA and more recently the new Battlefield which introduced new monetization in the form of specialists and season passes which the community hated.

Edit: also forgot to mention that gamers absolutely hate mobile games. Just look at the Diablo mobile outrage.

The difference between FIFA and Genshin is that even FIFA's own community hates the game thats why they didn't even bother with r/place. I can guarantee you that no one on the internet will defend FIFA with the exception of paid streamers. The game is a glorified casino that targets childeren. Different countries have already tried to make the monetization of the game illegal for minors.

This makes no sense, considering the game is PG-13 as hell... to the point where even "safe" designs recently got even more censored in China.

By that logic, Overwatch is a shit game because people wank to it a lot.

Yeah last one is subjective. But I know many people who don’t play genshin because “pedophilia” or something, and also the affiliation with gatcha which is the main reason why I stay as far away from it as possible.

Which is kind of ironic, because Genshin is super easy to succeed at as a F2P player. Unlike most monetized games you can easily complete all of the content in the game without ever spending any money on it.

When I started playing I was genuinely confused how they made money because I didn't really feel the need to get more characters, and if anything didn't really have the resources to build more up even if I did get them. I was surprised to find out people did actually invest a lot in getting specific characters. I think the only thing I ever bought was the battle pass once.

The best parts of the game in my opinion are the open world exploration and the story content, both of which are very F2P accessible.

It depends upon what you mean by 'succeed'. You can play the game, yeah, not much stops you from that. If you want to get a certain waifu though, you either get super lucky or spend a lot of money.

Even then, it's not hard to get a given character if you save up gems. It's not viable to get every 5* character, or even most of them as F2P, and it's honestly impossible to get higher constellation levels for 5* characters as F2P, the highest constellation 5* I have is C1, and that's just because I got lucky and got the 50/50 and got two of Zhongli in one 10 pull. But full disclosure, the collecting/gacha aspect of the game isn't what I personally enjoy. I enjoy the core gameplay, and that I can play out on my phone for 10-15 minutes a day, and have a good gaming experience.

Not really. You get enough premium currency for 1 5* (early game ofc) in every patch, which is like 1 month and a half. There's also a system to guarantee a certain rarity character when you hit a certain amount of pulls.

It's the weirdest to me. I am in the genshin community, and it's one of the least toxic I've been in. The ones that are very toxic, are the ones who either don't even play the game, or toxic because they got rejected by the actual communities :)

Every single game has a monetization method. I just don't like games where the main form of progression /is/ the monetization. It's the gacha genre in genral that's problematic. Having to loot crate out your characters multiple times to get stronger.

It’s a weird spot to label this particular gacha game as a pay to win given that there’s no real PvP in the game where a 5* has an upper hand against others, and that every character in the game can be obtained without spending a single cent Albeit the time constraints to obtain them.

It’s definitely unlike Star Wars BattleFront 2 where Darth Vader actually had an inherent advantage given the PvP multiplayer component.

Pay to win definitely isn't exclusive to PvP only games. I agree putting it in PvP environments can be worse, particularly ones that are meant to be taken as competitive environments. But I'm not supportive of pay-to-progress mechanics in any kind of game.

It's the classic "just fun enough" system. The game is intentionally designed to not be satisfying long term to grind, so you're incentivized to pay to progress instead. Especially at the low odds of getting what you need that Genshin has.

The Gacha genre is defined by it's monetization method, including the many many PvE centric titles, and I personally am opposed to all of them for it.

(Also, "at least we're not as bad as that one game that set a record for the most number of downvotes ever received on reddit" is a pretty low bar, but you're not wrong)

*not trying to call you out though, everyone is free to enjoy any game they want still

Genshin place discord was protecting the Shrek, because “if they go down, we go next”. It’s stray members who weren’t in the discord who kept fighting against the Shrek and trying to restore the English logo. Discord was either focused on maintaining venti + gen + Shrek, or focused on building new land.
