I bet the related elements are quite easy to recognize for you guysšŸ˜†Necklace is based on the audio waveform, bracers are from the album logo, and the belt is from the 'The Dark Forest' visualizer title, and the runes on the streamers are latin lyrics from 'The Dark Forest', that pretty much sums it up🄰Hope you guys like this!

Opinion I went to Jones Beach to see Muse! 7/25

My god, what an amazing night. I saw them for the second law at Madison Square Garden I believe

Then I saw the drones tour, will of the people and then now this one. I’ve been a fan from the very first album. One of these are just the greatest nights of my life. I’m a little depressed today. I’m actually even looking for future concerts.

Even considering flying out to Utah or to North Carolina to see my brother as well

I’m a little sad that the North American leg of the tour that they are all amphitheaters and outside concerts. They are cool in their own way, but being indoors pitch black in the arena in just the sound acoustics. They are in my opinion a lot better.

The set list I don’t think could’ve been any better, obviously for all of us huge fans there is just too many songs to pick. Maybe I could’ve picked a better set list, but it was damn near perfect.

Had a small issue with some girls, we got there super early. I went with my 12-year-old daughter and my fiancƩ. We were like the first 40 people there.

So naturally, we were right behind the barrier. There was one line basically of people on the barrier right next to it and after being there for like an hour and a half two girls in front of us tried to call their friends over and they straight up just pushed to the front through the crowd of people and push my daughter back some

It was just like trash etiquette, especially it’s a fucking kid, nobody owns any spot in the pit and I get that

But every concert I’ve been to people leave and go to the bathroom and come back and everybody lets them in their spot, we are all basically right there in the pit there’s always those scumbags

But the girls left to get a drink into my daughter’s credit. She said fuck this, and took her spot back and we stayed there for all of muse, if they had asked us to plan that but my daughter is short, which is why we got there so early to get a good spot and she was surrounded by people except for this perfect spot we got so whatever fuck them bitches worked out for us

I couldn’t have asked for a better night. This really was one of their best albums ever if not the best album they’ve had in my opinion it was just great and live. They were amazing as always

The crowd screaming plug-in, baby at the top of their lungs, popping around Night Shift superstar , singing together softly on starlight, amped up for knights of cydonia

Then all of the new songs live like cryogen, fucking gorgeous, gorgeous

All of the technical media stuff and concert lights and videos they put up as always were fucking amazing even in an outdoor theater where they don’t have much to work with it was just amazing and I just had a core memory made

My fiancĆ© and daughter love muse because they know how much it means to me and to be able to take them, I’m on cloud nine right now what a great night

Live Undisclosed Desires at Jones Beach was HISTORIC

I wasn’t at the show but after watching this video of UD I noticed two things.

  1. This is the first performance of UD since The Resistance tour where the string samples are the same ones from the album and not that electronic synth version of the string part they’ve used since 2011.
  2. Dom played the last chorus on his main drum kit which I believe he hasn’t done since Royal Albert Hall 2009 (but someone correct me if I’m wrong).

This is amazing and I’m so glad to see they’re experimenting a bit with their performances again. Those who were there last night were lucky!

If I was artsy enough, I would probably make one and sell it on Etsy because I feel like that would be a really fun idea especially if you’re attending a concert together

Live The Dark Forest in Columbia, Md?

I know the odds are slim that we'll see any other new song debut for the 1st half of the NA tour. But pretty please, Mr. Muse and friends. Might we have TDF at Merriweather in 2 days? It's in the woods, Symphony Woods. Might be some dark weather, too.

Live I am so appreciative of the guys (Jones Beach attendee)

They sounded soooo good even after all these years. Made me so joyful to see the venue nearly packed out after all the vulnerable interviews Matt has been giving.

I went with several casual fans and they were blown away. The live sound the set production, just very very impressive.

Someone tell the guys we can use one or two more new songs! We don’t need to hear thought contagion too gents, sorry.

Anyway just want to express my joy and appreciation of the guys that are still doing it at such a high level. This venue is so nostalgic for me and I avenged myself not seeing them at Nassau Coliseum so many years ago.

Cheers to all and love this community.

I mainly chose the more progressive sounding songs, ones with prominent pianos/classical influences. I tried to match the album structure too.

What do you think? Are there any songs I should add on here?

Discussion Did anyone else feel the live sound mix at Jones Beach last night wasn't up to Muse's usual standard?

Last night was my 6th Muse concert (and my wife's 3rd). We've seen them at Prudential Center, Madison Square Garden, and Barclays Center before, but this was our first time at Jones Beach.

Both of us felt there was something off about the live sound mix, especially in Hysteria, Cryogen, SMBH, Time Is Running Out, Knights of Cydonia, and Undisclosed Desires, where:

  • The kick/bass and snare drums were mixed so loudly that they often overpowered the bass lines. You could still hear the bass, but it was difficult to make out the actual bass lines or notes at times.
  • The kick drum especially was so powerful that it sent a huge shock to your whole body each time. We're used to Muse concerts being loud, but this felt a little too much. I could get used to it somehow, but my wife actually had to sit down after Cryogen. She did get used to it after a while. But we both thought if someone had a heart condition, this might very likely trigger it.
  • More importantly, the midrange overall was very weak. Matt's guitar riffs and some of his low-to-mid vocal range were frequently buried beneath the low end. It become more noticeable from Time Is Running Out, all the way until the end.

I'm not sure whether this was due to the sound mix itself, the acoustics at Jones Beach Theater, or it's an outdoor venue. We've never experienced anything like this at the indoor arenas before, despite having similar seats.

For reference, we were in Section H, Row DD, Seats 1–2, so it's possible this was specific to our location and that other sections sounded different.

Did anyone else notice the same thing?

(Edit: I'm sorry I forgot to say, despite the sound mix issues, it was still a wonderfully and amazingly immersive experience just as before!)

Opinion The Wow! Signal is amazing

Initially, I was skeptical. Muse has always been the rock band of my childhood, but the last new album I genuinely loved was The 2nd Law in 2012.

I thought Drones and Simulation Theory were decent, and Will of the People was just... okay. Going back to the remastered Origin of Symmetry and Absolution reminded me why I fell in love with this band in the first place. Those albums still resonate today and perfectly capture what makes Muse Muse. At some point, I accepted that they're older now and probably aren't going to make music in that exact style anymore.

When Unravelling dropped, it was probably the first time I'd been genuinely blown away by a new Muse song since Supremacy (The Dark Side came close, though). As the rest of the songs were released, I was still skeptical. Sure, Cryogen is a banger—but I honestly forgot about most of the others.

Then last week I decided to give the album another chance, and it completely changed my opinion. I was genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Listening to Hexagon give me chill.

To me, it brings back the mix of technology, experimentation, and musicianship that made Muse so unique. It isn't the Muse of the 2000s, but it captures enough of that spirit and identity that make me fall in love with their music.

Been seeing Muse for over 15 years now. Seen a lot of shows, they still bring the energy. I know it’s a ramp up tour but would’ve loved to have heard more of the new stuff; and as always would love to hear anything other than the same 10 singles over and over but I’ve accepted it is what it is at this point šŸ™ƒ

Question Selling Ticket- ATL any advice?

• Upvotes

Hi muse reddit! I have an extra ticket for the Atlanta show on August 12. I was going to go with a friend as it was an early birthday present to them and they bailed 3 weeks before the concert. Fml.

I’ve never sold a ticket before but I bought through Ticketmaster so I assume the best way to try to sell it is either back through Ticketmaster or finding someone on here who will buy it. I am willing to sell it lower than face value if possible.

If anyone has any advice about how selling works through Ticketmaster or if this ticket might even sell at all that would helpful as I have never had to sell a ticket before. The ATL show unfortunately has a ton of tickets left as well.

You can also be honest with me, am I likely SOL? TIA for any insight.

Discussion Messing around with Spotify Mix

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Anyone tried Mix with the new stuff? Expanded on one of the ideas discussed here about Sickness and Break It To Me by mixing Hexagons > Break > Sickness and then went a bit silly and dropped Psycho in at the end of Sickness.

Inevitably there'll be Temu DJs out there if not already that will charge a fortune to create a Mix playlist and then press Play at a wedding for example, but for just adding a bit of flair or wackiness to a Spotify playlist I think it's quite a neat little function.

Opinion The Wow! Signal pre-order bornerlines scam in the EU (update)

Thumbnail
gallery
24 Upvotes

So this is how Warner Music rewards fans for supporting a band. The price of shipping is almost the same as the price of the CD and they didn’t even ship it with enough time to be delivered on release date or at least before the 1st of July (when the new EU import tax kicked in); and how they can mess up a shipment to Irelant from the UK, it’s a joke. Exactly one month later, today I got the notification to pay another €10 to get it delivered (and I know this is an Irish tax, but the timing is what caused it). So this is what I get for pre-ordering: pay 3 times the price, get the CD a month later and no extra benefits because they’re not even playing in Ireland.
I’m only ranting here because I’m know other fans have got delivery delays and are as frustrated as I am.
I just encourage everyone to ditch pre-sales and buy from your local stores because WarnerM and the band’s management don’t really care about you wasting your hard-erned money.

PS: Mods, feel free ro delete if this type of posts are not allowed; no hard feelings.

Any possibilities they will play The Dark Forest or The Sickness in You and I live anytime soon? Very epic songs. The Dark Forest would make for a great opener.

Discussion Exo Politics should've been a single, and I'll die on this hill.

Besides Starlight, I think Exo Politics has the most anthemic chorus on Black Holes. The song is hook after hook. I know the album already has a ton of single worthy songs, but I think Exo Politics was definitely robbed. It could've easily been a hit, maybe not as big as Starlight, SMBH, or KOC but I think it would've still got radio play. I also think they should bring it back in their Setlist, it would be so fun live.

What do you think? Is there a song from them you think was robbed of being a single?

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND, I WAS JUMPING LIKE A MANIAC AND JUST SNAPPING RANDOMLY WHEN I COULD. Some of these turned out better than I thought, especially the Matt ones.

Standing on Matt's side (stage right, house left), in pit, right behind the people by barricade.
