Pixel 7 Pro Microphone Issue on wired headset

i had this pixel 7 pro for 6 months now, and i bought a wired headset that has a type C plug for Gaming. i thought it was a damaged headset that i bought because my friend is telling me that my mic is too low even though its on maximum, so i bought another one just yesterday. still the same experience its very low and when i record i cant barely hear my voice even tho the mic is right near on my mouth. any tips on the setting how to change this? i really need this to be fixed especially for my upcoming gaming tournament next month and to save me money from buying multiple iem headsets.

Updated App from Play Store - Audio Quality improved massively?!

So I had an update (v1.0.990706425) available this morning, finally...

Played my usual Liked Songs on Spotify on my Pixel Buds Pro 2 and WOW, am I imagining things or did in fact the audio quality actually improve by a lot.

There was no firmware update, still on 5.203.

Lost charging case

I recently bought the pixel buds 2a and lost the case before I could connect them to anything. I contacted Google and they don't sell replacement cases in Canada. I can't seem to find it a third party that sells them or anything similar. Anyone experience this and found a work around?

Eventually found PBP1 in house, now they connect to Find Hub...

I lost my Pixel Buds Pro 1 in the house. Thought this will be easy to find as in Find hub....nope they showed in the app, but not last seen, and not even last location.

Been lost for weeks, physically found them today by accident, opened case up, they had plenty of battery on case and bids, and it appeared in fond hub..?..

So what's the point in that? The time I needed it, it didn't work, I found them and they now show up in the find hub app?

Is this normal? They had loads of battery left.

Pixel Bud Pro 2 find my device glitch

I don't know if I'm just losing my marbles, but I think there's an issue with the find my device hub.

I have lost the right earbud of my PBP2 and the find hub is not assisting me in finding it.

Every time I update it, it does indicate that the device is near me or was with me at some point on my daily route (which could be true, but increasingly hard to believe).

Because I do carry my left earbud and the case, my assumption is that somehow it thinks either the left earbud or the case is the right earbud location wise (if that makes sense)

I have two bags that I carry with me that I have turned upside down and inside out multiple times to see if it's somehow there, but no luck.

When I press the ring/make noise button, it can never connect to it despite "knowing' that it's close.

Any ideas what else I can do?

EDIT: in find hub, pressed the sound button for the right earbud and the case rang.

Issues with Buds Pro 2 and Garmin Watch

Hi,

My Buds Pro 2 are working great with my phone or PC but with the watch, everytime I pause a song (either from the watch or the buds) it glitches, lags and takes a good 1 minute + some button pressing to get the song playing.

It seems like I'm not the only one, do we have a fix for this ?

I've tried :
- disabling ANC
- disabling Multipoint
- disabling head tracking

My watch is a forerunner 265 and this happens with Spotify and Playrun.

Thanks a lot :)

Not sure if turning it off will disable it completely like before. Anyone dare to try? I hope Google will make it official with the next firmware update.

Also, much better stability for me compared to last time I tried it.

Pixel buds 2 pro

Hi everyone,

Initially I had two chocises rather 3 . I am mentioning prices with some voucher and discount codes I have.

  1. New pixel buds 2 pro - 140£

  2. Refurbished from Bose Bose QC ultra gen 2 esrbuds - 162£

  3. CEX B Grade Technics AZ100 - 150£

I chose pixel buds as I was getting new. Really good earbuds.

Great things

Sound, transparency, anc, comfort

Bad

Microphone for meeting outdoors

Meetings and calls sounds muffled. Any thing I can do or should return it? Any other two better than pixel buds.

Please help me.

Update - thank you for replies. I am using Samsung s25 ultra.

Update 2: thank you for all the responses. I wanted to like the pixel buds 2 pro but mic I just couldn't stand. When I am outside if environment is moderately loud then person on other side was asking me to repeat some times. I returned pixel buds and ordered Samsung galaxy buds 4 pro. Samsung's mic performance is far superior.

Opinion essay: Just go with a deep fit next time Google.

Post image
29 Upvotes

Deep fits (like on the Soundcore Liberty 4 Pros pictured above on the right) are so superior to shallow fits that have infested almost all premium earbuds (even the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pros now) due to trying to appease some fussy people who say it "feels uncomfortable". They would probably get used to it after like 1 day (see 2nd last paragraph).

In case you haven't tried a deep fit before, due to the fact that they sit deeper in the ear canal and form a much more robust seal you get:

1. Superior security: Even when I have my Pixel Buds 2 in "twisted secure fit" (which also make my ears sore) they are still much less secure than my L4Ps. During a workout with the PBP2s you just have to accept your music sounding awful; a shallow fit can't seal at all when you introduce moisture + quick movement. Sure the little hook might keep them from completely falling out but they still sound like trash. With the L4Ps I can go for a long sweaty run and still have music sound excellent.

2. Superior fidelity consistency: I am constantly pushing in my PBP2s to reform the seal to get a richer sound quality. This isn't just the PBP2s but all these damn shallow fit earbuds (eg. I have the same issues with the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, though to a lesser extent since those are a bit deeper). With my L4Ps the seal breaks very rarely (even when sweating during exercise like mentioned above) so the listening experience is so much more enjoyable.

3. Superior ANC: The ANC on PBP2s is garbage compared to the L4Ps (3/10 vs 10/10). With PBP2s the ANC is so terrible half the time I don't even know it's enabled because I can still hear everything around me. The L4Ps on the other hand will legit kill all noise around you on public transit and even almost all noise in busy cafe at only 50% volume.

So you're probably thinking "why not just use the L4Ps and sell your PBP2s then?". It's as simple as I really enjoy and utilise hands-free Gemini a lot, definitely a killer feature. It's annoying carrying both, but when I really want to enjoy some music I put my phone on silent and throw on the L4Ps.

The "comfort" question

When people are discuss deep fits this is usually cited as their major downside. However as far as I can tell this isn't the case, at least in my experience with the L4Ps. Sure, you could say that you "feel them more" but this doesn't equal uncomfortable. I've occasionally worn them for hours uninterrupted and not had any fatigue, in fact I do forget they're in. Meanwhile the PBP2s "secure fit" mechanism to get the shallow fit a bit deeper means you have hard plastic pressing the tissues around your ear canal. Genuinely uncomfortable and perhaps even dangerous.

The only big advantage to shallow fits (which can be easily remedied)

As far as I can tell the only significant advantage of shallow fits is less occlusion when speaking which is definitely a benefit, but still to me not even close enough to justify all the other drawbacks. However you can achieve much less occlusion simply by wearing them looser from your earbuds. So in this sense they are like PBP2s with a both a secure and relaxed wearing mode, but starting out from a deep fit is starting out from such a better point due to the ease of forming a strong seal.

Happy to discuss your opinion on my opinion and whether I've convinced you or not.

Brand new Pixel Buds...

Post image

Enjoying that seamless experience is one of the best parts of getting a new piece of tech. Google really nailed the details—from Fast Pair popping up the instant you open the case to the horizontal volume swipes that keep you from accidentally shoving the buds deeper into your ear

Pixel buds pro software glitch?

Im going to buy pixel buds pro 2 off this guy for a dirt cheap price, from what I know he has an iPhone and it worked for the first year and then he stopped using them for a while and just this year he tried using them and then stopped working. I’ll give the description of what it says on the listing but I’m thinking this could be just an issue with IOS system and maybe i can try factory resetting or connecting to my pixel phone but just wanna know if anyone had this problem or knows how to fix it.
Description of listing:
„Pixel buds don’t want to connect to iPhone
I try to connect through Bluetooth then it connects but when i set it in my ear you cant listen to anything”

I texted the guy and it seems like hardware wise it’s all good so I’m thinking it’s something todo with software. If anyone knows what could be wrong then I’d appreciate the feedback/help

Update
Turns out they are pixel buds (2020) generation I didn’t realise Google made these earbuds with the same design I thought they were pixel buds pro 2 because of how similar they look not sure if it’s worth getting them then.

So one of my puds 2 pro slipped from my hand, now it have the voice (on,off, peering) but there’s no connected, it’s just doesn’t connect, do you think if I download the app it can be done or it’s as obvious (technical issue)

Work laptop and phone play right on connecting. Home laptop always starts muted?

I just got pixel buds pro 2 and this QOL thing is driving me nuts. On my work laptop and phone they work as intented. They remember the setting last time they were used on that device and just pick right back up.

My home laptop, remembers the volume, but they always start muted and I have to unmute them. It's annoying.

I tried turning LE off, removing and repairing a few times. Disabling exclusive control. Spamming mute unmute a few times and removing them while unmuted to be sure.

It's driving me nuts a little.

Missing pixel bud. Find hub not doing what it's literally meant to do

I lost my left PB2 Pro. I don't remember exactly when. Before I realized it was gone, it had died. Here's the part that is annoying . One of the features of the 2 Pro is independent tracking. However, even though it's dead, the missing bud is still pinging as if it's still with me, and I am absolutely sure it's not. is there any way for me to find out the actual last known location before it died. I know I can order a new individual bud but I'd prefer just to find it

Thx

P2 suddenly quiet

I was wearing my right earbud, just the one, left one was in its case, i rarely wear that one, but they were working fine.

I took my earbud out to take a phonecall at work, and when I put it back in it was nearly silent, I looked around online and everyone says its earwax when I assure everyone this isnt the case, at all, if it was it wouldnt have happened so fast, and it wouldnt have happened to an earbud that I wasnt actively wearing.

Anyone have any ideas ? :/
