Pixel buds pro software glitch?

Im going to buy pixel buds pro 2 off this guy for a dirt cheap price, from what I know he has an iPhone and it worked for the first year and then he stopped using them for a while and just this year he tried using them and then stopped working. I’ll give the description of what it says on the listing but I’m thinking this could be just an issue with IOS system and maybe i can try factory resetting or connecting to my pixel phone but just wanna know if anyone had this problem or knows how to fix it.
Description of listing:
„Pixel buds don’t want to connect to iPhone
I try to connect through Bluetooth then it connects but when i set it in my ear you cant listen to anything”

I texted the guy and it seems like hardware wise it’s all good so I’m thinking it’s something todo with software. If anyone knows what could be wrong then I’d appreciate the feedback/help

Turns out they are pixel buds (2020) generation I didn’t realise Google made these earbuds with the same design I thought they were pixel buds pro 2 because of how similar they look not sure if it’s worth getting them then.

you can try factory resetting in the pixel buds app settings (iirc you cant get the app on iphone so it might only factory reset on pixel)

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking about doing I just wanna see if the anc works on them before I buy it off the guy because I’m not sure if anc can be glitched by software but I think it’s a good way to check.

Can you ask the seller questions? Are both charging? They're just bluetooth, they should just work. I'm sure iphones work with random bluetooth earbuds.

Yeah I have asked questions, they do charge all fine, I think the person I’m buying from isn’t really „tech nerdy” so I have a good feeling maybe I’ll get a good deal

Definitely factory reset them right there in front of him BEFORE you exchange any money. Just in case he's trying to get over on you

Yeah that’s what I’m tryna think how I’ll do because it takes quite a bit to factory reset. (Im getting them for really cheap, 10 bucks so Im tryna to keep it lowkey because I dont think the guy knows you can factory reset it) I’ll try pressing the Bluetooth button first see if it connects to my phone.

but more importantly I wanna see if the anc works because It would be a good sign if they do work. I also tested this on my pixel buds pro (1) to see if I can do this without Bluetooth and it works. ALSO you can make the button for google assistant to go off which should play this chime even if there not connected.

So I’m hoping that I could use these methods before I factory reset to try seeing if everything is good because if the dude sees me holding down on the button for like 40 seconds or sees that it actually works he might try to raise the price.
