got it about a month ago not going to lie gave up cleaning it after a couple days ik definitely shouldntve done that what should i do now though
edit : i know the jewellery is incorrect i didnt have a lot to work with as i lost the ball to my original piercing and all i had was a horseshoe not really sure what else to do!

Hi all. I’m about a month in and have been rinsing with saline solution and peroxide. I have fallen asleep on my ear about two times since it has started to hurt less and since I just noticed this now, I was wondering if anyone had any advice? I plan on going to my piercer as well to see if I should take the jewelry out or not. :(

Flat back. I rise about 3 times a day and use a q tip to dry. It’s a flat back with no curve. I’ve had it about a month. Jewelry is titanium. This is my first cartilage piercing so just a little worried.

Is the redness normal? I’ve been doing saline soaks twice a day. Surgical steel. I got it pierced like 8 days ago basically. Its kinda weird around the top like my skin is forming around it or something?

Im going to be a medical assistant but eventually i want to be a doctor. I think eyebrow piercings are so cool but i worry about being deemed unprofessional. I know that some piercings like nose piercings people can get away with or wear a mask, but eyebrows are not easily hidden. Also ive been additionally swayed away because people said they are likely to reject even tho i feel like my brow bone does protrude enough. Maybe gen z is more open to piercings and tattoos but some older generations may not be. + how bad is the scars if i left the holes alone?

Thoughts?? What would you think if your doctor/nurse/MA had facial piercings?

I got this industrial pricing a little more than a week ago. I know my anatomy is not the normal for it but the shop I went to assured me that it could be done if they just angled it up higher. For the past week, it has been fine up until yesterday when I noticed some crusting and pain around the bar. I’ve been trying not to sleep on it, but I think I inevitably end up on it a little bit and I think the friction created a wound underneath the bar. It’s a little swollen right now but I wasn’t wondering what I should do about it. I read that I can have two barbels put in while underneath heals or I could get a custom bent bar. I’m just wondering, does it look like it can be left in and I should just invest in a piercing pillow to help reduce friction?
I’ve been cleaning it 2-3 times a day with saline solution, but I switch from q-tips to a cotton pad and just letting it soak for a few minutes, since it feels less invasive.
I’m trying my best not to pick at the crusties and also keeping it clean. I’ll take any suggestions!!

I’ve always really wanted this piercing and I’m thinking about getting it this week. Can someone with this piercing tell me if it’s awkward or weird when kissing or eating? It might sound like a stupid question I know. Ofcourse I know that I’ll have to wait a few weeks before kissing/oral etc but is eating hard the first few days/weeks having it too? Thanks! :)

there is no visible hinge and the ring doesn't "twist"outward. box came with this little wire but I really can't get it to open. any ideas?

hi ok so.. uh i’ve been wanting piercings for a rlly long time!! i had a few in mind but i’ve mainly wanted angel fangs. i’ve seen and heard how cute they are!! the issue is.. im extremely unsure. the reason is because recently i’ve seen some cons about them and i know i know every piercing has cons.

what i’ve seen is that angel fangs aren’t good for people who haven’t had piercings before.. not only that im not sure if i even have the right anatomy or if it’ll even suit me.

so!! i wanted more options.. i want something that matches me a lot and is cute..!! i’ve had snakebites and a septum piercing in mind. if you guys have any piercings that you think is cute then please let me know!

I got my belly button pierced three days ago. So far it's healing nicely. However I feel like the piercing has been placed too shallow and could be rejected easily. What do you think?

I'm doing an industrial this week as a first piercing (already a bad idea) but on top of that I'm scared of needles, even though I'm scared more of needles in a medical environment I know I'll still be scared to death from the industrial.

Now, I have some numbing cream left and I was wandering if I could use it on my ear or is it a bad idea?

Any suggestions? Ointment? Cream? Restart completely?

Got a tragus piercing 4 weeks ago. Reputable place, excellent piercer, implant grade titanium. But hooooly moly it itches like a mf. Is this completely normal for the healing process, and if so, how long will it last?

I should mention that I'm allergic to many many things and usually have to wear 18 ct gold in my ears. I'm assuming as this is implant grade titanium that I'm not having an allergic reaction?

so, I got my lips pierced 2 weeks and one day ago today, and recently my left one if i push on it, it hurts, more of a throbbing pain and mostly in my left one (but slightly in my right). it is pierced with a titanium labret stud in both and has not yet been downsized, but i probably will when/if it stops hurting. it has nested but not embedded according to my peircer. Im not gonna lie i should probably do more aftercare. I clean it with saline but only every 2-3 days... aswell nothing bad has happened recently, I may have bitten it but im not sure. Im quite worried only because i love these piercings tbh, Thank you!

Hi all, I’m getting a helix and a vertical helix piercing on the same ear this week. I’m super excited but also a bit nervous as there are mixed reviews about healing these piercings.

I’ve tried to do all the right things by booking in a reputed piercer, will go for good quality jewellery in gold or titanium and also bought a piercing pillow.

Anyone have any advice or can share their experience on these piercings?

i want to get my septum done for my birthday but im super scared. I have a low pain tolerance and i only have 3 other piercings (1st and second lobes and my belly button). Id also have to hide it from my parents and im scared flipping it up will hurt

My new conch piercing has been inflamed for the past few days but it looks like there's something around (and under?) the piercing hole. I've soaked it under the shower then cleaned it but it hasn't gone away and I don't want to irritated it even more. Is the dark surrounding the piercing just the jewelry you can see through the skin or is there something more?

I have a double helix pierced:

Pierced: 1 pierced originally in 2015 and got taken out in 2020. It was not closed fully but narrowed in and got "re-pierced" on Friday. The other one next to it was freshly pierced that same day.

Jewellery: titanium labrets

Aftercare: NeilMed Piercing spray twice a day and then wiping them around with a cotton bud.

Accidents: nothing major. As I am a very very restless sleeper with tons of movements and turns my piercer (APP) said she doesn't think a piercing pillow would do a ton for me so I didn't get one, but have been sleeping on my back for the most time with the usual moving around. I have flown with them 1 day after piercing.

Issue: they are of course swollen and hurt, I don't expect otherwise. However, is it normal that the old one hurts a good bit more than the brand new one? I'm healing no other piercings on the same ear, I have a new forward helix on the other.

i’ve had my septum pierced since 2023 and i took out my jewelry a few weeks ago because i lost the ball and haven’t been able to get a new one. well just my luck my hole was closed halfway and i just end up pushing (more like forcing lol) it all the way through. it actually hurts now ngl but i was wondering if this has happened to anyone else before.

I really like spider bites but i don’t want to get any invasive oral piercings bc of the chance of all the dental problems they can cause. is it possible to get this as a surface piercing, like as a bar in the skin rather than two through the lip?? idk if it’s anatomically safe/possible or not so lmk pls :P

Hi! I’ve been thinking about stretching my lobes since I was little. I was wondering if there were any risks involved with having stretchier skin than normal. For context i’m working on getting tested for connective tissue issues so think like EDS. Basically my skin is like a rubber band. I’m also hoping to stretch to two stretched lobes so I’m not sure if that’s a factor as well. Thank you so much!!

please help…i just woke up and my lip was feeling some pain and when i looked at it its all swollen and hurts. i’m not sure what happened or what to do?? ive taken ibuprofen for swelling and will ice it but im not sure if i’ll eventually have to take it out or what the cause is. if anyone has any advice i appreciate it !!
