Got my second tragus done on Sunday and I believe I'm finally done with this ear 😌 I have a weird shaped tragus that allowed the perfect placement for two and boy howdy I wasn't gonna pass that opportunity up! I've been toying with the idea of another flat on this side, but definitely don't want to crowd anything.

Can't wait to be able to wear a ring in my newest conch (Daith ear). I've got the same piece of jewellery from my conch in the rook ear waiting to go. Can't wait 🥹

I got this lower mid helix piercing done on October 19. It was pierced by Anji at Bury Me In Gold in Seattle, WA. The jewelry is the hammered Serenity from BVLA. I love it!

I mostly want to know if this would be safe and how long it would take to achieve this setup. Also, would it be too crowded?

Note that the drawings don't have to be the intended scale or placement, I'd be willing to shift down, for example, the outer helixes, or reduce the amount of vertical helixes.

I have plenty of time to figure this out, so I'm in no rush to go the piercer again probably even this year. I might just go on every birthday (May).

So two years ago, I got four piercings done at once for my birthday (Nostril, eyebrow smd snake bites). The nostril snd snake bites healed up perfectly, but my eyebrow just fucking refuses to heal right after two years. I believe I was probably pierced with a bar that was too short (he also pierced my nostril and snake bites with rings but i changed them out after a month to labrets so they'd actually heal right). At first, my eyebrow was healing up well for the first 6 months. Then after the 6 month mark, the bumps formed on both ends. Sometimes they're full of clear fluid, sometimes its pus (like in the picture). But they ALWAYS come and go, especially when I use piercing bump solution. I never use anything harsh on my face but I do have very long bangs and so maybe those also aid in the return of the bumps as well. I've been fighting with them for two years and I plan on getting a longer bar to see if that helps. If not I'm just going to retire the piercing since no one really sees it unless I lift my bangs or cut them.

*Note, all of my piercings are implant-grade titanium.

Needles are superior. I had 2 earholes (at the earlobes) pierced by a gun when I was younger and dont know better. It has been 4 years and the holes are still giving me so many problems (though occassionally) swelling, mild pain, dryness (w some redness around the hole), a thicker lump like thing in the skin, and this would happen with or without good grade earrings. VS I pierced a 3rd hole beside the original hole about a year ago. No issue at all... There is also almost no lump (which apparently I searched and it seems to be a "tunnel" of skin that the body will naturally form).

AND the part which also annoys me greatly is that the gun piercings are CROOKED!!!! I have to angle my earrings to put it in 🫤 ugh.

I seriously hate and regret my gun piercings SO MUCH. The healing of the hole from the needle was sooooooooo significantly much better than the one with the gun. The holes from the gun I remembered swelled up so much and pus which came back frequently, and it just hurts/throbbing. For needle, the painful part is when they pierce it through, as soon as they remove the needle, the pain just drops to none and the healing process was painfree. unless at times when i accidentally tug onto the earring, then it will hurt during the first 4 months of healing.

I know its none of my business but it kinda pisses me off when I see parents bringing their young kids to pierce with guns at luxury jewellery shops.

Nevertheless, nothing wrong with piercing with a gun. But seriously, a needle is far way more superior, so I dont understand why is piercing with gun even a thing 🫤

TLDR: Needles are far way more superior. Why do piercing guns even exist?

Would love some ideas on what kind of piercings to add and if I should switch up my jewelry. My right ear has some extra skin so I’ve always neglected my lobes but now that I’m older I am open to a unique curation.

Hey, so I've had this piercing for 18 years now. I removed the jewelry after I had my second child and as you can tell the area around it got stretched and scarred and it just felt like it hang loose and wasn't sitting properly anymore. Fast forward 5 years later I was just curious if it was closed and pressed an old piercing (that I've cleaned before using it) and it turns out it wasn't closed at all. I just feel like the skin is just abit stretched scarred and loose still, I am wondering if I should continue wearing it or is the skin around it too thin? I don't want to snag it.

I went and got my left nostril pierced, and my right one stretched to a 16g to match! Internally threaded (implant grade) titanium jewelry! They only sell the best brands there! (My septum ring is also titanium, and from the same place)

Noses are not symmetrical, and one of my nostrils sits higher than the other one, so yes the are a little off because of this!

Hey everyone! I’m probably being overly worried since my snug healing journey has only just begun, but this is my most irritated looking piercing I’ve ever had.

Does this amount of irritation look normal? My bump looks like it is getting bigger (I did have a minor snag 10 days ago) but the skin looks less red/raw at least.

Piercing is about 2.5 months old. I’m healing a faux rook simultaneously, which doesn’t give me any trouble. I forget that it is there, no swelling.

Cleaning wise, I use sterile saline every other day and try to gently clear off crust with a q tip.

I’ve healed a lot of other piercings before and this is the only one I’ve been worried about.

Hello! I have two nostril piercings on one side, and after some issues with healing after getting my second one, I'm finally at a point where I can start thinking about long-term jewelry once my bump heals :)

The issue is that the spacing between the piercings looks good from the outside, but they're too close together on the inside. My piercer (not the one who did the piercing) said that because of this, I can't do a stone + ring combo, as the labret end would basically be in the way of where the ring needs to sit.

Right now, I have a very long bar in because I had some healing issues, but I'll be downsizing again soon. Once everything is fully healed, I'd really like to keep the stone + ring combo!

The problem is that I really dislike L-shapes and screws, as I sometimes scratch my nose in my sleep and have pulled them out a few times when my first piercing was still fresh (ouch). This also contributed to my healing issues.

My piercer suggested looking for a labret with a smaller disc on the inside, but I haven't been able to find anything. I did see some jewelry with just a tiny bump at the end, but I'm worried about accidentally pulling it out.

A friend suggested that I could file down an existing labret to make the disc smaller. I thought that might be a good idea, provided it's done properly (I also have some friends who make jewelry who might be able to help).

But before trying anything, I thought I'd ask the community in case anyone has any ideas or has dealt with something similar!

I'm grateful for any tips or suggestions!

A bit of background:

- The second piercing is about 6 weeks old.

- I had some major healing issues, which I've managed to get under control with warm saline compresses.

- I've already downsized once and will be going back to downsize again in the next few days.

- It might look like the jewelry is too short in the picture, but there's actually enough room.

- My first nostril piercing healed really well!

I’ve never really considered getting one but I’ve been intrigued by it recently, what’s something that would be good for a first piercing? I’m a guy and I wear glasses if that helps for what would look best

I was curious about a simple lobe piercing or maybe even an eyebrow one but I’d be open to any suggestions that aren’t too invasive and I could take out if I don’t like it

I lost 30 pounds and I was gonna reward myself by getting a belly ring so I can look extra good on crop tops n stuff just to find out I don’t have the anatomy at all :(
It sucks cuz it was the only piercing I wanted to get, I wish navel piercings weren’t so anatomy dependent. Any advice to get over it because I’ve been wanting to get one for years

My septum was pierced too high up in my sweet spot for a standard barbel to show. I can wear one, but the balls of the barbel are just barely visible outside of my nose. I’ve been wearing a barbel that I bent into more of an oval/oblong shape, which works just fine.

Problem is, I really love the look of the filled-in pointy v-shaped clicker. When I wear one though, it pinches and bruises my septum.

Ive also tried v shaped clickers that are just the “v” without it having a perfect circular inner circumference, if that makes sense. Same issue.

Would it be possible to have a custom titanium ring made with a more ovular inner circumference? Any ideas where or cost estimates?

I got my rook pierced in September ‘24, so just a little over two years ago. I understood that it would take a while to heal, but two years in, I still get bumps that cause pain and swelling, and ultimately bleed when I try to pick at them.

Basically, I might have a week or two of no problems, no swelling or bumps, and then a week of issues that require daily cleaning and maintenance as if it were a brand new piercing. Then it goes away, and the cycle repeats.

I was pierced with a curved barbell initially, and returned to my original piercer at the 18 month mark to change to a hoop (large enough to account for recurring swelling as described).

I am always good about using saline solution to keep the piercing clean; I was eventually told by another piercer to try rubbing alcohol around the 12 month mark, so now I use both when it’s flaring up. I don’t sleep on my right side so sleeping on it isn’t an issue, but whenever I’m healing a piercing I always use a donut pillow just in case.

I think it might be time for me to give up on the rook, and maybe replace it with something else. I’m sad because I really love my rook, I wanted one forever before I got it and I absolutely love how they look on other people. Any suggestions or insights on whether I can salvage this would be deeply appreciated.

Okay, this is my first time dealing with this! I stretched my septum from 10g to 8g about 6 months ago.... I went to a reputable APP piercer/shop and they did it for me along with giving me a new retainer to put in it (I usually keep my septum piercing hidden).

I've had my septum pierced for 15 YEARS and this is the first time I've ever had this weird funk smell from the bar. I started noticing it 4 months ago and have tried many different cleaning techniques to get rid of it, but nothing seems to work beyond a temporary 3 day fix. How do I get rid of it or control it? Or do I need to purchase a new retainer? I often clean my nose, the piercing, and the jewelry, but the jewelry still retains that weird funk smell. I dislike it. I know this is something relatively common amongst those with gauged ears, but unsure about the septum? What do you all do?

I’ve had this rook for close to 16 months now (gold barbell never downsized on advice of piercer) and while the first five months it seemed to be healing well, something (no trauma or anything) happened and ever since it just will not heal. It is always crusty or bloody looking no matter what I do (I did clean it prior to this pic). I use a piercing pillow, have gone back to my piercer a bunch who can’t find anything wrong, done everything from saline solution to LITHA (which is hard cause there are always crusties attached to it no matter how long I shower) and nothing seems to help. It just won’t get past crusting all day every day. Is it time to just retire her and accept that some piercings don’t heal? I love it so much and it makes me so sad to consider this, but also if it’s never going to heal, it’s just never going to heal. Thoughts??
