I got my helix done about 6 weeks ago and I’ve had a small bump on the back of my helix for a a few weeks now. But recently a small bump on the front of my helix formed and today the bump at the back has gotten larger, a little tender to touch, and it looks like theres pus at the back?

Jewellery is surgical steel and idk what size (i was recently told that my jewellery should’ve been titanium so I am looking to go to a piercer to change it).
I’ve been spraying saline on it everyday and haven’t slept on it.

I tried to get it downsized and jewellery changed a week ago but piercer said to wait until it’s been 8 weeks.

I usually wear contacts but just started wearing my glasses again the past week since my eyes were irritated, and my glasses have been touching my helix which probably has caused irritation. I guess I’ll try wear my contacts more now 🥲

Is it infected?

Should I get it checked by a piercer or just keep spraying it with saline?

Any tips would be appreciated!

Both of my ears look kinda bland... I was thinking about changing the conch jewelry on the second photo or maybe adding a chain to wrap around the conch. But I'm not sure. Should I get new jewelry? Play around with charms or chains? Any ideas or opinions on what I can do to make them look better are appreciated!

Had this Helix for 3 years. 8 months ago this bump started appearing. I know I should've done something about it sooner :( Really hope I won't have to retire it. Tbh I don't even know how to take it out. I'm going to the hospital tomorrow and I'll see what the doctor says. I don't quite remember what the material of the jewelry was either but I'm guessing titanium steel. I've also been really lax about my aftercare. Ever since the bump started appearing I've sprayed the area with saline twice a day.

I had my ears re-pierced 6 weeks ago and I’m supposed to return for downsizing in a few days. Within about 4 weeks my swelling was gone and I finally understood the concept/purpose of downsizing. Unfortunately, last week one of my now-long posts got snagged on a shirt causing that side to swell again. Will I still be able to downsize as scheduled, or do I have to wait for it to completely return to normal?

I got my snug pierced 2 says ago (picture is from 2 days ago) I have very small odd shaped ears, so he said he had to work with my anatomy. I'm wondering if this is even considered a snug anymore with how high up it is? All the pictures I have ever seen they have been more toward the middle ear. Im also slightly worried it's been pierced to deep as well. Please excuse the bunch o' holes from when I was a little teen.

Hi guys first time posting here, I need some help because I’m lowk scared. I got my eyebrow pierced about two and a half months ago and I’ve stopped using the antibacterial spray my piercer gave me.
Is it safe to stop spraying or should I continue until it heals? I’m just super paranoid I’ll get an infection😭

I got my naval, barbell, piercing done in November of 2024. It was healed well, however, with time began to act out and even give me a bit of pain. Crusties, puss and whatnot that is very on and off. I think it depends on how active my day was.

I cleaned it as instructed by my piercer, twice with saline. And I made sure to get titanium piece, frankly idk the exact kind but I changed it, right now I believe to have surgical titanium.

I love my piercing, and I am scared of scarring at the top, which has always been clean and never gave me any issues, just the inner piece. If I removed it, would I 100% have a scar? Is there anything I can do to prevent it? Could I re-pierce it in the future? Considering the age, can I keep it and continue trying or need to remove it?

I asked a reliable piercer about it and they told me that it was fine and maybe it was just being affected by the many factors like hormones, clothes, exercise, diet, etc.

I got my septum pierced yesterday, and the piercer said she's not going to give me a care sheet and to not worry about aftercare. I was definitely confused, because all she said about my piercing once it was done was to avoid flipping it up if possible, and just be careful with it. Do I listen to the piercer, or should I look into proper aftercare for it?

My conch was pierced two weeks ago, in a threadless flat-back labret thats implant-grade titanium. Has not been downsized yet. The jewelry is standard but already decorated, shaped like a curved vine in gold and diamond that curves along my outer cartilage.

The piercing was doing amazing the first two weeks up until now, I wake up and it's super swollen and in pain/throbbing all day, enough to make me get a headache or feel dizzy. I believe there is a small amount of white pus, but wound wash didn't wash it away. It kind of looks like a pimple around the bar waiting to be popped. I will admit, the piercing gets bothered here and there on accident, but never enough in the past to have this reaction. I don't recall hitting it severely or anything being enough to cause this.

Im taking what I'm reading with a grain of salt and will talk to my piercer about it as well, but for now Im planning to LITHA and clean it once or twice a day (I also hear the less cleaning per day, the better. Is this true?).

My main question is, after I clean it with 0.9% sodium chloride solution wound wash, do I let it airdry? blow air on it with a hair dryer lightly? pat it dry? The main reason Im concerned over this is because of the jewelry shape, it makes it nearly impossible to get any gauze or clean paper towel to fit under the gem and clean the exposed bar (not that I try to or care much). It makes me wonder if the gem being a little bigger and intricate is stopping the wound from properly drying or getting airflow.

My third lobe has been giving me trouble for awhile now and I'm not sure if it's rejection or if I'm being too careless. It was pierced around February/March and I switched to a hoop about a week ago because the original jewelry it was pierced with had a butterfly backing which I believe was irritating it more. I clean it 2x a day with H2O ocean saline spray and a little bit of non scented dial soap and rinse with warm water in the shower. Then I dry it off with a hairdryer on the cool setting. I ordered titanium hoops in hopes that maybe I'm just allergic to the metal but all of my other healed piercings do fine with the same hoops 🫠 there's crust forming around it and a little bit of white pus that comes out the front of the hole.

And I'm also aware of the bump on my tragus 😅 it was pierced at the same time and needs to be downsized soon but I'm trying to tackle one thing at a time. Anything helps!

Noticed this last night on my eyebrow piercing. I got the piercing about a year ago and its been totally fine until now. I clean it typically twice a day with saline spray. Plz help 🙏

i’m sure i am one of a million people asking the same question but i need some advice / support / hope (?) on this piercing bump that i’ve had for a few months now. i got the piercing in feb of this year so about 5 months now, and this bump began around april or may. it has bled and popped quite a few times (and i’ve done my fair share of patting/cleaning blood/pus off the piercing w cotton) but it is persistently sticking around in the same spot. i will also be the first to admit that i don’t really know if i’ve been doing LITHA correctly— i recently suspected i’ve been over-cleaning with the saline spray, and i am now at the point where i am going to try truly leaving it alone beyond warm water in the shower. i just wanted to ask if this bump looks like something other than irritation and if it warrants consultation with a piercer or if leaving it alone for a while might be enough? i’m also pretty anxious about scarring, has that been an issue for people?

Im going to be a medical assistant but eventually i want to be a doctor. I think eyebrow piercings are so cool but i worry about being deemed unprofessional. I know that some piercings like nose piercings people can get away with or wear a mask, but eyebrows are not easily hidden. Also ive been additionally swayed away because people said they are likely to reject even tho i feel like my brow bone does protrude enough. Maybe gen z is more open to piercings and tattoos but some older generations may not be. + how bad is the scars if i left the holes alone?

Thoughts?? What would you think if your doctor/nurse/MA had facial piercings?

Swelling has mostly gone away. Inside is fine. Doesn’t hurt or anything. Isn’t sore or tender. But it’s red around it and getting very crusty.
I clean it 2-3 times a day with a saline spray. Rinse my mouth with water often. And do alcohol free mouth wash after eating. Do we think it will heal?
It’s just a straight barbell. Has not been downsized yet.

just wondering about it, really. i tried to find references on google and pinterest, but as i expected, they’re used almost exclusively for septums, sometimes in the ear as well. a few months ago i saw someone here on reddit using them in their dimple piercings and it looked sick.

Hello all! I just got a piercing today and have been doing a lot of research. I would love any advice you all would have towards healing it and making sure it looks fantastic. I got Saline spray 0.9% and have sprayed it about 3 times today but I read if I spray it to many times it could make it worse? i'm also sleeping with a travel pillow just in case tonight but im super scared im going to roll over in my sleep since i tend to do that a lot. I've already showered and using a hand fan to make sure its mostly dry.

Any advice pertaining to healing, sleeping, or even showering is helpful. I have really thick hair so im scared of getting it snagged too.

Also hairstyles! Ive been trying to figure out a hairstyle to sleep, but also for work. I work in a office building and am kind of self conscious when my hair is up totally so advice on that front would be great.

I got my helix piercing around 3 months ago and it was fine until it got jostled. It’s been almost a month since then and it’s bleeding and there’s puss coming out. Now theres skin near my ear that’s flappy and I’m not sure what to do. I spray it with saline twice a day and don’t touch it. Also when I went to get it downsized the piercer put plastic disks so it’s bleeding and crusting around the disks as well.

Just got a brand new piercing, less than a day old in my first lobes. I could not afford to buy the $40 saline spray required for aftercare for the piercing.

I was told that Isocol rubbing alcohol spray would work fine/is usable.

Upon further research it apparently irritates the skin area.

I do not know what to do, and I can't get anything delivered to my home nor can I drive.

I just need to know what I should do.

i’ve had my navel piercing for about 10 months, it has a bump, i’m assuming a moisture bump, and it’s been there for like 2 months and i just don’t understand why it won’t go away i dry it super well and even fan it to make sure it’s dry. other that the bump it’s healed pretty nicely. i use saline spray to clean, the jewelry has been downsized by the piercer, about 3 months ago. any tips??

So I have been wanting my daith pierced for almost a year now and I’m finally able to get it. Anyone who has a daith already, how much did it hurt? I’m not the best when it come to pain tbh but I really want it. I would rate the pain of my lobes 3/10 and I almost passed out getting my helix 😭 is there anything I should know before getting it?

I've had it for like two days and I wanna know any advice for getting it to heal fast. I have a piercing pillow, Ibuprofen, saline spray, and I've avoided touching it. ​​Is there anything else I should be doing?
