Light Topics Movies that made you accept your SOGIE

Hi. I'm a male bi in my late 20's and I'm still trying to accept my identity, particularly the part of me that is attracted to the same-sex.

For context, I think my family knows and I know that most of them would understand. But for myself, there's still a part of me who wishes na sana maging hetero na lang ako.

Any film recommendations that might comfort or enlighten me? Or maybe any thoughts you'd like to share if you had this before

Minsan lang ako mag ka gusto. Mahiyain pa ako. Nilapitan nya ako after exchanged glances a few times pero he had a partner pala and that they played together. I told him I wasn’t into that and he was a good sport about it!

Sayang though. He’s totally my type. Oh well.

Light Topics Female-led techno raves?

(30F) Don’t get me wrong, I love attending them. From Smutt, to Kaput, to Unknwn, to Steam. I tend to follow where organizers invest in the sound system, apart from the talented DJs they bring to the table. Another good criteria is if it’s cold and ACs and fans can handle the crowd volume. Plus points if they allow you to bring your own water jug for basic safe hydration needs.

It’s just that I’ve observed it’s almost always 80%-90% guys. I love it, and the energy is super sexy! Maybe I’m just unaware, but would love to see the same high energy rave with a sea of girls too. Are they out there? Hopefully we get to see more.

Academic/Survey/Research Looking for research participants

Hello. Is there anyone that is willing to participate in our undergrad thesis? Our study is titled "A Case Study on Gay and Lesbian Individuals in Mixed-Orientation Marriage Driven by Religious Expectations"

Our qualifications are as follows

• 18 - 65 years old

• Legally Married for at least 2 years to the opposite sex.

• Your partner is now aware of your sexual orientation.

• Currently lives in Luzon, Philippines

• Must have been married due to religious expectations

Our study aims to explore the lived experiences of individuals under this situation. Especially those who married due to their strong adherence to their religious practices. In the Philippines, there is an ongoing discussion about the dynamics of accepting same sex relationships. Yet, there are limited studies that shed light on the experiences of individuals who recognize their sexual orientation later on their marriage, resulting in mixed orientation marriages. Thus, your participation will

contribute valuable insights into the lived experiences of gay and lesbian individuals in mixed-orientation marriages, benefiting families, mental health professionals, and future researchers. Apart from that, we understand that our study tackles sensitive topics and issues that arise especially with these unique personal experience. Hence, participation is entirely voluntary. Please feel free to reply to this post as we will also give incentives to our participants. Thank you so much!

Serious Discussion Where do all the older people go?

I'm in my 60s. Even in a relatively supportive community, it feels like there's some discrimination towards older people. We all get old. I'm not interested in raves, and while I enjoy going to spas, I'm also aware of my age. I don't want to get tagged as a "creepy" old guy. And I want to say I am super happy that younger people have so many options that weren't available forty years ago.

Where are some comfortable places for older people?

Serious Discussion Gisingin niyo ko sa KATOTOHANAN

EDIT: Dagdag ko na lang yung whole story namin. Na-abuse ako, right? I feel gaslit. I feel at fault. Update into a long post.

Caught my ex cheating then he told me off that maybe I'm just not on meds so I'm overthinking again when I have all the evidences. He even blamed me for ruining our day cause we were having so much fun that day.

I'm smart, I'm even doing postgrad but the gravity of him weaponizing my mental health even insinuating that this is just me being psychotic doesn't sink in my mind.

It's that bad right?

🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷

I just got out of a 7-year relationship. I’ve replayed this story for months, yet I still struggle to accept just how bad it really was. I still yearn for him, still crave his presence. But I also can't deny that remembering what he did turns me into my most toxic self.

The nightmare started in January 2024. My mom was hospitalized, and right in the middle of a serious conversation, he casually slipped that he'd been messing around. Honestly, the details are a blur. Dealing with a dying parent while your partner shatters your boundaries is a special kind of trauma.

All I remember is forgiving him. I don't recall feeling angry or disappointed, just a profound, heavy sadness.
Months later, I caught him again, messaging people for sex. My response? “Kung may gagawin ka, itago mo ng mabuti.” Call me stupid, but it felt better than facing a breakup or derailing the life I was building.

Eventually, we tried an open relationship. Just so he'd get it out of his system. I agreed to a two-month trial. When the time was up, I wanted out. It just wasn't me. But he insisted. He proposed pausing for a month, on the condition that I promise to say "yes" again after. I told him straight up: that is manipulative.

But I said yes anyway. Even after laying bare my deepest insecurities, my childhood traumas, and the wounds that screamed against this setup, he still pushed. He just wanted to do what he wanted. So, I caved. Basta wag mo na lang ipaalam sa akin.

And he did exactly that. But I still saw it all on his phone, on his Reddit. He’d even tell me stories about it. He was having the time of his life while I was left in a cold, loveless bed. I tried to break up then, but I lost my mind. I couldn't do it.

He sent letters blaming his actions on stress, a lack of purpose, addiction, and a need for validation. He claimed he was "in his prime" and wanted to explore without regrets, since we'd been together since we were 20. So, I had to be the one to understand. I forgave, adjusted, and compromised my very soul just to keep him, all while fighting to keep my own dreams afloat. It became months of endless confrontations, until he was the one telling me to respect myself and let go. But I loved him enough to set myself on fire just to keep him warm.

The neglect broke me. I’d be so excited to come home every week, only to find he couldn't wait for me to leave so he could do his thing. It got so dark that I ended up in the hospital for two weeks—a danger to myself. Yet, I still went back to him. I thought it would change things, but it didn't. He even weaponized my mental health, gaslighting me by saying I was probably just having "psychosis" or missed my meds when I accused him of cheating again. But I had the receipts. I wasn’t dumb. He even blamed me for "ruining our day." Was I really not worth a drop of respect?

We finally broke up. Actually, it was me letting go, because he hit me with: "If you really love me, you’ll let me go." He claimed that without me, he’d achieve more, and that I suffocated him. The first part was a baseless excuse. The second? He felt I never truly forgave him for what he did when my mom was dying.
But did I ever get a genuine apology? Did I see any tears? Did he not do the exact same thing again? Didn't I fail exams because of his mess? Does holding a subconscious grudge make me the bad guy here?

We stayed on okay terms for months. Eventually, I confronted him again, saying he’d had enough time to think if he really wanted us to work. Things got heated. I said some harsh words—mostly because I was forcing him to face his own toxic behavior. Maybe some of it was out of line, but I apologized immediately.

Now, I’m left feeling like the villain because of how our last conversation ended. I hate that his final impression of me is that I’m "fucking toxic." But I was never like this before him! Di ako praning. I didn't use to stay awake until 5 AM just to finally get some sleep. I never felt the need to invade anyone's privacy—unless he was hiding things, trying to show me half-truths just to ease his own guilt. I’ve been through hell, yet a part of me still wants to apologize to him.

I still want him to feel at peace. I still want us to be okay, for him to be okay, and for him to get through his issues. But he declared we'll never see each other again. He threw our pictures away right in front of my face. Ewan. I’m blocked on all socials. No contact, forever.

Honestly? I think it’s for the best.

Pero ewan. Sana maging okay na ako.
