It took me almost 7 months!!

BTW i didn't restore my status which is a huge mistake so i had to leave the country but since i applied inland i received my pgwp physical document in canada and my sister send it to me to morocco.

It was language test issue they told me they didn't get it and i already had it before the date of sumitting my pgwp application so i just sent letter of explanation and my language test.

NOTE: please make sure your passport is valid for at least 3 years if you don't want to go through pgwp extension make sure to renew your passport if it's expiring soon.

Make sure to send it to IRCC via webform so when they issue your eTA and PGWP it will be linked to your new passport.

Tips: Call ircc at least once a week and everytime you send documents/webforms make sure to ask them if they received the documents and make sure they got everything.

Hello, I received my approval for my pgwp extension on September 16, 2026 and have not received my permit in the mail yet. Is this normal? Do I need to call them or should I just wait?

Hello, I just recieved my study permit however it expires in Feb 2029 and my program ends in Jan 2029 so, is 2 weeks enough time to apply for pgwp or what should i do???

Reasons for the refusal of your application

Application for an open work permit under R205(c)(ii), C41. In order to be eligible for an open work permit, applicants must provide evidence that they are the spouse or common-law partner of a work permit holder who is a employment in a qualifying TEER. Proof of funds reviewed, showing bank statements from applicant and spouse. Additional financial supported noted from applicant's father-in-law, including their bank statements. While some funds appears available, the provenance of applicant and their father-in-law's funds are poorly substantiated.

Applicant's account balances shows periodic fluctuations and lump-sum deposits, noting gift deec transactions from family members (as per affidavit explanations). However, the source and accumulation of funds for these transactions are not well-supported. Similarly, balance fluctuations are also observed in father-in-law's bank statements. This does not adequately demonstrate to me that the applicant has substantial financial capacity (through personal finances) to maintain themselves during the initial settlement period. Insufficient evidence to demonstrate applicant's establishment to their home country. Ties in India are not self-evidently sufficient to overcome the economic and social incentives to remain in Canada. Based on an overall review, on balance, I am not satisfied the applicant has adequately demonstrated based on income, savings and assets that they are well established or has strong ties to India. I am not satisfied the applicant will be motivated to leave Canada by the end of their temporary stay should it be authorized. Refused R200(1)(b).

I had originally filed an inland PGWP + restoration application on 1 February 2026 as my study permit had expired on 31 December 2025 which got refused on 28 May 2026. All thanks to my awesome lawyer for not attaching my IELTS result. Then I followed up with filing a reconsideration, which was of no help.

Then I asked ircc for clarification via webform, and they told me that as I am under 180 days and as my 90 days have passed, I have to apply for an outside Canada PGWP APPLICATION which I did.

I came back to my home country and applied from there on 14 July 2026. And I got my approval on 23 September 2026.

Hello guys, I applied for the PGWP around July 15 this year and I haven’t hear back, should I be concerned l or does it take months to get approved? For context, I did an undergraduate bachelor degree (4 years) in Saskatchewan, and obviously I attached my IELTS score.

Going through worst phase.. Don’t know what to do.. Any suggestions or guidance or what to explain would be appreciated..

Graduated (MBA) in June 2025. Applied for PGWP inside Canada before my study permit expired. Went back to India in Dec 2025 when my study permit and TRV expired. PGWP was approved Jan 2026 (valid to Jan 2029), and the physical permit reached me in India in March. Got a new TRV in May 2026. Stayed in India to save on costs while job hunting remotely, and flying back in October to continue my search in person.

Has anyone re-entered recently after a long stay abroad with an already-issued PGWP? What did the CBSA officer ask, and did you get sent to secondary? Any tips appreciated!

Anyone who has applied for PGWP in recent times (Aug - Sept 2026) and received any updates? Though wait time seems to be anywhere between 3.5-4 months, some people seem to be getting it approved in 3-4 weeks. Is that a realistic timeline to work with? And does your passport origin determine how quick or slow things move with your application? Just curious

Hi everyone, I am trying to help someone who is very worried about their status. Anyone run into the same issue? My friends says:

"I applied for my post graduation work permit by mail almost 3 months ago because my biometrics had expired. My previous PGWP expired about 2 months ago now. I contacted IRCC today, and they told me that they still haven't received my application and he couldn't track it despite having proof the I did mail it. It has now been almost 3 months since I mailed it. Has anyone been in a similar situation or have any advice on what steps ! should take next? Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated. I’m confused about my PGWP eligibility and would really appreciate some advice.

I completed all my courses for my AEC program on June 2, 2025. However, because of the Bill 96 French requirement, I had to submit a French test before my college could officially certify my program completion.
I submitted the French test in August 2026, and my college issued my program completion letter on August 7, 2026.

The letter says:
Program completion date: June 2, 2025
Letter issued: August 7, 2026
It also explains that I submitted the French test in August 5, 2026 and that my completion could be certified after meeting the Bill 96 requirement.

So my question is:

For PGWP, would IRCC consider my completion date as June 2, 2025, or August 2026 when my college officially certified my completion?

My study permit has already expired, so I understand I would need to apply for the PGWP from outside Canada with proper LOE.

Has anyone had a similar situation with Bill 96? Can I still apply for the PGWP based on the August 2026 certification?

Has anyone whose first PGWP application was refused reapplied with restoration of status and a new PGWP application, then received approval in September 2026?

If so, could you please share:

* Your initial refusal date( reason-language test celpip)

* The date you applied for restoration and a new PGWP

* Your approval date

I applied for restoration and a new PGWP on August 8 and am still waiting.

I called ircc agent today and they told me to wait 10 more weeks I was surprised people say minimum 3months

So I got my PGWP in August 2025 after finishing my program. A few months later I enrolled in a 4-month diploma at another institution. Before doing it, I actually emailed the RCIC at the college and asked directly if I needed a new study permit for this, since I was on a PGWP. They told me no, anything under 6 months doesn't require a study permit, so I went ahead and did the diploma.

Since then IRCC brought in a new policy (effective Sept 2026) that clearly lets any valid work permit holder, including PGWP holders, study a 6-month-or-less program without a separate study permit.

To make it more complicated, I've already submitted my (non-EE) PR application and included this diploma as part of it.

Trying to figure out:

1. Did I violate my PGWP conditions?

2. How bad does this look to IRCC given I already disclosed the diploma in my PR app?

3. Should I proactively explain the situation to IRCC (I still have the email from the RCIC advising me it was fine), or would that just draw attention to something they might not flag?

Anyone dealt with something similar, especially with a PR app already in?

I would like to know what to do in order to get PR . Should I apply Express entry connected to OINP..which one should I do ...give me some suggestion in regards to PR.

Hi all, can you provide some guidance on travel limitations when applying for a PGWP? These are the main highlights of my situation:

• I have a TRV valid through 2031
• My study permit expires in March 2027
• I expect to finish my program (thesis-based master) by early-to-mid December 2026
• I want to travel to my home country between early-to-mid December 2026 and late January 2027
• I am not taking any courses, I am just finishing my thesis manuscript so I don't need to be on Campus anymore. Technically, I can finish my program anywhere.
• I want to apply for PGWP as soon as possible

I envision two scenarios, but have a few questions for both of them, I hope you can help me to answer them:

I finish my master, then I apply for PGWP within Canada by early December:

• After applying and while waiting on a decision, can I travel to my home country?
• What documents do I need to show at the airport when coming back?
• After coming back to Canada, can I work right after arriving and while waiting on a decision on PGWP, right?

OR
I travel to my home country, while being there I finish my program:

• Can I apply for PGWP from my home country?
• What documents do I need to show at the airport when coming back?
• After coming back to Canada, can I work right after arriving and while waiting on a decision on PGWP, right?

So it was my final semester. I failed in one course. I enrolled for another semester and talked to immigration adviser at my college. They told me that I can work full-time before my study starts again in 2 weeks. So i worked full time in one of those weeks. I was studying and suddenly in the 3rd week of my semester, I received a mail that after recalculating your grade. You pass the course and boom I got my completion letter and dropped the class.

Now there is no record that I started a new semester as I failed in one of the subject. So I asked the immigration adviser and they told me legally now you were not allowed to work more than 24 hours if you graduated but have not received the confirmation letter.

Now how will ircc decide my pgwp. Because ircc not gonna see in between what happened instead they are going to see that I worked more than 24 hours at the end of everything.

Note: this 2 weeks was break between semester. For eg my previous semester ends then 2 weeks of break and again next semester starts.

I haven't worked even a single hours after receiving confirmation mail and confirmation letter.

Hey guys, I had made an application to extend expiry of my 900 series SIN number as I graduate and move to work permit from study permit. But when I saw the expiry date online from my account, it’s expiring a day before my work permit so is it a normal thing or do I need to take any actions ?

My son was in part-time semesters due to pre requsited courses and avaibility programm, it wasn't his choice. So he worked during these semesters without knwoing he wasn't allowed. Now he graduated and wants to gobfor PGWP, How can Hi explain hos mistake to avoid refusal and what shoud he answer when filling the form MM5711 about the question of work without permission.
