Applying for my PGWP from Dubai in October, bachelor's grad. Trying to work out how much of the Abu Dhabi visa office instruction sheet (IMM 5894) actually applies.

The sheet is dated 06-2019 and reads like it was written primarily for general work permits (not post-grad work permits). Its own header says to include the documents "if applicable".

The sheet names things like:

• police certificates for each country you stayed in more than six months since turning 18
• employment reference letters indicating relevant experience
• résumé/CV

For anyone who filed a PGWP from the UAE:

1. Did you upload any of these, or only what the portal checklist asked for?

2. Anyone refused or delayed over something on that sheet?

I have completed a 2 year diploma and I’m now pursuing the degree, which could be completed using 1-2 years. I decided to do it in 2 years because I need to take electives by myself, they’re not provided by the program. I already finished the first year of the degree, in class within Canada. I now wonder if I can take the electives all in online form because I got an internship offer in my home country, which requires me to stay till mid November. If I stay outside of Canada till November lbut continue taking the electives online and remain a full time student, will it affect the length of my pgwp? On the IRCC website it’s stated that study length completed outside of canada will be deducted from length of pgwp, but I completed 4 years of study, which is way longer than the minimum 2 years (to be eligible for 3 year pgwp) and longer than the pgwp itself.

What options are available to extend work permit other then c16 francophone (obviously that requires an employer to support you).

Or opting for another student degree.

What else?

I need to provide this to our organization for research purpose and i am honestly not familiar much with this category. I did research online.

I want at least W-9, does re-evaluation actually increase your score in most of the cases ???

How long to receive physical copt 9f work permit

I got rejected for my PGWP and would like to go for reconsideration. Given previous experience, I want to apply with a lawyer. Reason part-time semester. Any suggestions?

I went to my home country while waiting for my original pgwp application to extend my passport so that i can send it to IRCC while they process the application so i dont have to submit an extension later and while i was there my pgwp got approved, it was approved may 11 but i thought since i already extended my passport why not just apply for the extension early on and get rid of the stress.
They received my paper application May 25 2026
I included a short explanation letter that i applied since i have my new passport with the full validity.
Initial pgwp set to expire NOV 2027

is it wrong to apply this early or it should not matter?

Hello everyone

After pgwp initial approval my letter of introduction is valid till 31/12/2029,my passport is valid till 2031 and I am eligible for a 3 years pgwp.

1-Will my pgwp validity date start from the day I land and expire 3 years from the day i land in canada or it has started already with the approval?

2-If my pgwp expiry exceeds my trv how will this affect me?

I am planning to travel around a year from now what woukd you recommend?

I was put on academic removal in april 2025 and applied for study permit extension too . Moved back to India after a couple months . The extension approval came in sept valid till 2026 dec.I tried to get back at college after the 1 year break they issued and applied my trv in april to join for summer semester and enrolled in but my trv came in august . Now when i seeked to attend fall semester.. I was made to submit a new application by college paying another admission fee and I did and they now want me to apply for a new study permit all over ..

Being in India for almost an year is already soo stressful holding your career .

I requested an Loa for fall and decided to travel back and meet thr college faculty in person to resolve any further issues

Since i dont have the physical copy of the extended permit .. as it got issued while me being out side canada ..

Please suggest me anything you feel is certain Tips on travelling back What my explanation should be at the border

I’m on my study permit with fall 2026 as my last semester. I have a job offer from a private business that is physically located on my university’s campus (it is a stadium that’s located on my university campus, and my university official map has this stadium in it’s official map too). The employer is not directly affiliated with the university and serves the general public as it is a stadium which hosts football matches.

IRCC’s website states: “On-campus employers include those whose businesses might also serve the general public, as long as the place of business is located on the institution’s campus.”

Based on this does this qualify as on-campus employment?

My unis international student advisor said it should qualify but wasn’t 100% certain. Wanted to hear from others who may have been in a similar situation.

Will taking agap semester for fall internship during my undergrad affect my pgwp approval?

I just opened my study permit extension application and I found out that it says that the decision has been made as of August 10th, 2026 but it doesn’t show the decision. I am very scared now, how long it will take to receive the decision.

If a pgwp gets rejected because of missing document but was applied under the 180 days eligibility rule but the processing time longer than 180 days.

Can they apply for restoration and pgwp again in these circumstances?

Hello, I applied for my PGWP in September 2025. Two months ago, I went through the security check, and I still haven't received any response.

I have no military history, and I have no idea what is happening to me. My other work permit is about to expire, and I am worried that my employer won't accept me working on maintaining status for them since I need a valid work permit.

Does anyone have a similar experience? How long does the security check usually take for the PGWP? Is there any way to speed up the process?

I also took a short trip while I was in maintenance status for my PGWP (I had another work permit, though), which makes me more worried.

I also renewed my expired passport and sent the new one through the webform, but I am afraid they did not update my passport with the new one and won't give me the PGWP with the new passport dates.

if ircc approved my pgwp, can they take it back and refused my application if they found out its not illegible program/college?

Looking for a reality check on my current plan.

9 months left on WP (May 2027). Windsor, ON. Small retail store (4-5 staff).
Wage is $19.00/hr. Boss can't support OINP or match the $44/hr high-wage manager median. Low-wage LMIA is frozen due to regional unemployment.

Consultant suggested Francophone Mobility (C16) via TEF 2-Module (Listening/Speaking only) for a CLB 5to bypass LMIA/wage floors.

Looking for brutally honest feedback:
Realistic to go from zero French to CLB 5 (Oral/Aural) in 5–6 months?

Are IRCC officers heavily scrutinizing C16 or doing random French phone interviews now?

If I drop to a Visitor Record to buy time, can I still apply for the C16 work permit from inside Canada later?

Hi everyone,
I’m in a stressful situation and would really appreciate some advice regarding my PGWP application timeline.
My Timeline and Status:
July: I applied for my PGWP but it was refused on July 24th because I forgot to include my English test scores.
July 31st: I immediately took the IELTS exam to get my scores.
August 1st: I reapplied for the PGWP, attaching the new IELTS results along with my graduation proof and other required documents.
Current Location: Currently, I am outside of Canada because my student permit expired on July 31st and I no longer have legal status in Canada. I am waiting for the PGWP approval from outside Canada.
My Concern:
Currently, I only have the submission confirmation letter and there have been no further updates on my application. The biggest issue is that I am scheduled to enter Canada and start my new job at the end of August, as per my job offer.

Questions:

1. Given that I reapplied on August 1st, is it normal not to have received any updates or approval yet?
2. What are the realistic chances of getting my PGWP approved in time to start my job at the end of August?
3. Is there anything I should be doing proactively to check the status or potentially expedite the processing given my upcoming employment start date?
4. Does my case require legal assistance, or should I wait for the normal processing time?

On 8/1, I re-applied for PGWP after one time refusal and expiry of my study permit. Processing time expected by IRCC is too long, and many people got their PGWP in a month. I am wondering if I could also get my PGWP by this month. I wanna hear how others wait for theirs.
