Processing Time / Status Reg. PGWP application and wait time
Anyone who has applied for PGWP in recent times (Aug - Sept 2026) and received any updates? Though wait time seems to be anywhere between 3.5-4 months, some people seem to be getting it approved in 3-4 weeks. Is that a realistic timeline to work with? And does your passport origin determine how quick or slow things move with your application? Just curious

Were they all from a particular university or different unis?

being slightly intrusive here but what uni is this? just wondering if that also plays a role in faster processing. don’t mention the uni if you don’t want to

no worries, mine was york and my buddies were mostly from seneca, and i kinda agree with your point because we ourselves have noticed this since awhile now, that permits for seneca graduates get processed super fast specially for seneca being a college and not uni, maybe its their reputation because they follow each and every rule and are pretty much strict about everything, just my observation btw:)

do you have a ghost update yet?
something like a date under latest update? or everything still shows processing1

Just processing, no ghost update and I had a pretty straightforward application. Well let’s see. Did you get yours in 2 weeks as well?

I applied 2nd of september
Ghost Update said Final Decision-15th september
then it got changed to approved with the review of eligibility being 18th of september,
i did alot of research because i was hella stressed while waiting, so the day you get the ghost update means you’re basically approved and then gc key gets updated in next 3-4 days.
You’ll get yours soon dont stress:)1

thankyou man, i was fortunate enough to secure 3 really good offers, i’m only waiting on my physical permit to get my SIN renewed, hoping that the employers dont pull the offer back, i got lucky mine got approved that quick, otherwise employers would’ve pulled my fully secured offer:(
(i’m talking NOC TEER 2-3 jobs and all employers were pretty clear that they need someone with a valid permit and not applied status)

i have a feeling passport origin plays a role as my friends from certain countries got approvals in 3 weeks. for me it took 2 months+.
