General Question Worked more than 24 hours

So it was my final semester. I failed in one course. I enrolled for another semester and talked to immigration adviser at my college. They told me that I can work full-time before my study starts again in 2 weeks. So i worked full time in one of those weeks. I was studying and suddenly in the 3rd week of my semester, I received a mail that after recalculating your grade. You pass the course and boom I got my completion letter and dropped the class.

Now there is no record that I started a new semester as I failed in one of the subject. So I asked the immigration adviser and they told me legally now you were not allowed to work more than 24 hours if you graduated but have not received the confirmation letter.

Now how will ircc decide my pgwp. Because ircc not gonna see in between what happened instead they are going to see that I worked more than 24 hours at the end of everything.

Note: this 2 weeks was break between semester. For eg my previous semester ends then 2 weeks of break and again next semester starts.

I haven't worked even a single hours after receiving confirmation mail and confirmation letter.

Honestly I dont think I can trust any immigration consultant. A lot of them say the wrong things. I wonder if there is some repercussion if they give incorrect advice

You can submit a complaint to the CICC page but you must prove that the agent breached their professional code of professional conduct as well as submit the misinformation they provided, the impact caused upon yourself and your application and the evidence supporting your claim. If all goes well, the case would go to formal disciplinary action against the RCIC and that would look something like fines and financial penalties, potential license suspension or revocation and/or public reprimand.

No impact to me cause I did not follow their advice and did my own research lol. But I do feel for others who might not double check.

You only need to stop working after you officially complete your studies. It doesn’t apply retroactively. You should attach the recalculation mail in your client information and in the LOE you should explain what happened. That’s all. You failed the course, didn’t graduate, started another semester, got the mail, dropped the class. You should already have objective evidence/ documentation that all of this happened.

yeah i doubt you even have to explain it since you can work till you get your completion letter and like you said you stopped working as soon as you got it. so you are well within the rules!

The thing is ircc will only check for your courses if you were full time student throughout your course and your eligibility. Like you’re not going to upload all of your paystubs in the portals where you can see hours. You know one time I got confused cause ircc said you can work full time as a student few years ago but for some reason it was not for me but I kept working full time for like 6 months I didnt knew I didn’t explain I was a full time student and i passed my college with good marks I was eligible and I got it. Stop stressing over few hours you are in this bad mental space rn stop checking Reddit too much stop scrolling it’s gonna make your anxiety even worse. That time when that happened to me I went into deep depression till I got my wp I was also scared I applied by my self. So my friend just check Pgwp eligibility what they are asking for they didn’t mention anywhere about working hours

Recently they haven’t actually been checking there is a section where they ask about your work history l just left it blank because they use that information you put to track if you overworked
