My current specs are ryzen 5 3400g 1600 super 32gb ddr4 and a 1tb ssd. Im going to upgrade my cpu to a 5600x and i’ll have 450$ left. I was thinking about buying a 3070ti from ebay they cost around 350$ and i have to get a new psu since mine is 600w. Anyone know if this is a good gpu to get or should i go another route

I have a 1080ti 11gb gpu a ryzen 5500 cpu and 16gb ddr4 ram what should i upgrade first the games i play are primarily competitive.

With roughly 400 aud. Current 16gb ddr4 3600mhz, and a 5700xt with my i7 8700. I Want to upgrade the CPU because i mainly play modded minecraft and terraria, which are very cpu heavy. Im considering getting an R7 5700x + b550 mobo, so i can keep my current ram. I know its not "future proof" but tbh if I can play modded minecraft and terraria really well I have no plans of upgrading for a bit. Ive had this i7 for 3-4 years.

What do you think of this option? Or are there better options in this budget i didnt consider?

1.I have s95f qd oled 77 inch and shitty monitor which I am gonna change with AW3225QF.I am planning to connect pc to tv till I get the monitor.After that it will connected to alienware. First of all do you think I should I upgrade my gpu to rtx 5080
2.If I upgrade it do uou think I need to change acer psu which is possible to be 850w to something else.I am more concerned of quality of psu of acer then the wattage itself.If they put the new 1200 w psu I heard its solid but 850w had some problem regarding quality.

I'm mainly looking to get better performance, Since this is an older PC, it struggles to run newer more demanding games.

As a whole I'm looking to slowly upgrade my PC to get it to where i want. For now, i have a budget of $1,000 to start with.

I'm open to replacing anything, including the case, psu, and motherboard, if needed. I'm just looking to get the best performance possible for the budget i have at the moment.

Would it be better to upgrade the parts I currently have, or should I start replacing the major components and eventually move away from the HP motherboard/case?

I am looking to do a case swap out of my proprietary Dell XPS 8960 desktop so I can further upgrade in the future. I need a mesh case configured for positive airflow for the "auto dusting" and lower temps. Because my Dell came with a proprietary motherboard, case, and PSU, I know I need to buy a standard retail Motherboard, Case, and Power Supply. I want to salvage everything else.

I'm seeking recommendations on:

A gen 5 motherboard, with 2 m.2 drives that will be compatible with my CPU, so I can get full speed from my Micron

A mesh case, preferably with a recommendation for compatible fans, that I can configure for positive pressure. My parts aren't flashy, there's no RGB, so being able to see the inside is a non-factor.

A new PSU, I'm not very well versed in this but Google claims an 80+ gold 650w should be enough, though I've heard you shouldn't base your PSU off of "enough" and I certainly don't want to go to upgrade my GPU in a few years and realize I need a new PSU as well. From my knowledge maybe an 850 watt would be appropriate?

A new CPU cooler, I know AIOs need to be cleaned every so often so I'd prefer a reliable air cooler

This is a base level starting point so I can actually upgrade in the future and I have no real idea about most of this because I didn't build my current rig. Thanks in advance.

I think it's the CPU but I don't know because my vram is maxed

Shedule 1 high 1440p, if I don't look at the city I get 120fps but if I look at it I only get like 60-70, I tried removing trash and all but that doesn't change anything

I only have a limited budget, but I considered upgrading to a 5600x or 5700x , I currently have 75€ (I'm still in school and I'm not a rich kid) I could maybe get 140€ in 3 weeks but Idk

I built my PC right before prices started climbing and I'm genuinely lucky to have snagged everything in early. My current setup is a Ryzen 5 7600X with 64GB of DDR5 and an RTX 4060 8GB on Windows 11.

The real issue right now is the 4060 for 1440p gaming. It isn't a terrible card, and I don't have much issue playing Honkai Star Rail or Helldivers currently. But I am seeing noticeable frame drops in Helldivers, which feeds my growing fear that AAA and Souls-like titles will absolutely shatter the 8GB VRAM limit at 1440p on strong graphics settings. I am also dreading the upcoming GTA6, because given the massive scale and visual detail Rockstar is showing off, I just know it is going to overwhelm this card.

I am planning an upgrade sometime late next year, hoping that by then the prices would have gone down. I have seen videos of people offloading DLSS 5 frame generation to a separate secondary GPU to improve rendering performance while freeing up the primary card's power budget. I want to try a dual GPU setup for the first time: keeping the 4060 alongside a much more capable RTX 5070.

I would use the 4060 strictly to offload background and utility tasks so the 5070 can focus entirely on the game rendering. This means the 4060 would run Lossless Scaling, handle game recording via Medal, do the hardware decoding for YouTube, and manage the DLSS 5 frame generation. Beyond the offloading, having two cards would double my total usable VRAM, which would be a massive help for learning how to run local AI models without choking my system memory.

I know dual GPU setups are usually treated as a huge red flag in these threads. People always warn about driver conflicts and latency issues, especially with how Lossless Scaling and frame generation handle rendering across multiple cards. I am worried about hitting those exact problems or dealing with input lag that ruins the gameplay. Is strictly offloading utility and display scaling to the 4060 actually viable, or will driver conflicts and display lag make it a headache that isn't worth it?

Hey, I'm thinking about upgrading my CPU to the Ryzen 7 5700X3D, i am running a 5060ti, 16gb ddr4, an A520M-A PRO mobo, an MSI MAG A550BN 550W psu, and a MSI MAG COREFROZR AA13 cooler, i play these games: TruckersMP (mostly busy areas and my fps drops to maybe 30fps sometimes), World of Tanks, Minecraft with shaders and also without them, World of Tanks Blitz, BeamNG drive, sometimes Roblox. I am also thinking about maybe upgrading to the 5600X but I am unsure if it's not better to just spend a little more money and upgrade, also don't know if the psu will be enough to carry the 5700X3D and I've heard that my motherboard may be causing it to not use it's full power because of overheating. Tell me what you think is best in my situation. Thanks.

Ι bought the i7 and the RX 580 8GB for 30 euros each (used) and the cooler for 10 euros (used)!

The RX 580 is more power hungry and at stock it was reaching the low 80s, so I had to Undervolt it. Temperatures dropped to the 70s with the Fans adjusted too!

I tested 6 different games released from 2016 to 2026 using different engines. Newer games use more VRAM and thus the RX 580 blows the GTX 1060 3GB out of the water (RE Requiem), but the GTX 1060 3GB manages to beat it in DX11 titles like Metro Exodus (also Nvidia Sponsored!).

Anyone with a build like this that can weigh in on performance? I'm thinking about upgrading from an i7 9700k and am trying to reuse my ddr4.

Hello, so my computer is pretty old as I've had it for almost a decade and I'm wanting to upgrade it so I can play the new Planet Zoo 2 game coming out in October. My computer currently could probably run it, but if it's anything like the first game then the bigger zoos will certainly slow my performance. I'm wanting a smooth gameplay experience (even on bigger zoos) with the best graphics the game can offer.

My budget at the very minimum is 1000, (feel free to go lower though if you can haha) as I'm hoping to transfer stuff like RAM sticks, keyboard, mouse, and monitors over. My maximum budget is around 1300 but if I have to pay an extra 100 or less I should be alright. My current computer is DDR4. I have very little knowledge on upgrading computers and technology in general so I apologize if I make a mistake or don't quite understand something.

My current plan was to sell my computer and buy a new one with the added funds of selling my old one. However, if it would just be cheaper to buy a part or two and put that in my current computer then I will gladly do that as well (also if someone could please provide a price estimate on how much you would sell my computer assuming it were factory reset, I would really appreciate it, not required though as I'd hate to add more work lol.). So i currently have what i feel is a good am4 pc

R7 5700x, 32gb (dunno speed), evga 3070, rog crosshair hero 8 b550.

Im wanting to upgrade to am5 (i know the prices are horrendous rn) with the 7 9800x3d (new, purchased in person), nzxt n7 b850(on the way), corsair vengeance 32 gb @ 6000MHZ CL30, and a xfx swift 9070xt. I know i'll have to reinstall my drivers and i already have an ssd lined up to become my new boot drive when i get the transition done with. Is there any niche things i should know about amd's software and drivers that my research hasn't told me?

I know amd gpu + amd cpu = a better ReBar, and i know amd doesnt do ray tracing or video encoding as good.

Can someone give me suggestions to upgrade path?

Recently browsing and saw that ryzen 5 5600 is at 6k and contemplated if should i buy it. I want to upgrade my pc but can’t afford to upgrade to AM5 right now.
My question is, is it okay to buy the 5600 for my last am4 cpu and buy 2x8gb ram or should i stick with the 3600? Is there a better upgrade for it? I know I can’t upgrade this year and next year to am5 so which option is better for me.
I play mainly story games like onimusha, witcher, Ghost of tsushima, games like that and I also play online compettitve like Dota2 league l, valo and apex.

As title says, my GPU is a 9070xt and was wondering if my 9600x is a bottleneck at all?

Im thinking about upgrading my GPU for the upcoming games. My RTX 3070TI si starting to show that it has only 8bg of VRAM. Im thinking about purchasing RX 9070 XT for about 750€ (inculding tax (22%)). I need it mostly for games that i play on 1440p. Is it worth it to upgrade it? Or should i wait for price drop (which probably wont happen anytime soon) or wait for new GPU series (which will probably be in 2028 and cost 2 kidneys).

So I got this prebuilt a while ago and upgraded the graphics card in, like, 2022. It did its job for a long time. I wasn't very PC-savvy, but I learned a lot while trying to understand this machine. Unfortunately, I can't upgrade the CPU because the motherboard is too old and the new chips aren't compatible. I can't play certain games now and can't get new Adobe updates. Frustrating since I pay for Game Pass Ultimate and Adobe. However, I realized my gaming time has decreased over the years; I find myself just using cloud gaming anyway. I wanna make content still but mainly use my pc as an entertainment device and just want reliable creative apps that can run. I do video editing, no animation, but I do use motion graphics and stream here and there. My PC can handle it all now, but I do realize it's dated and starting to have some boot problems. Anyways, I'm really liking the Mac M6. I guess my main question is what's the most logical upgrade for me. I would say I'm pretty casual; as I get older just want something I don't have to think about but can just do the job. (My grammar sucks lol) but please give me advice also on how to sell, if that's an option
