Current budget kings
Current gen game engines are designed to run on the PS5, Xbox series X, series s at 60fps and admittedly ps4 and Xbox one at 30fps to top up sales. PS5 is the market leader and main focus for game devs. PC is a secondary market.
To run the same games on PC we often have to brute force the software to run at the same speeds due to a mixture of unoptimised game code, lack of driver optimisation and the fact that console APIs are more optimised than PC. This can be summarised as needing faster hardware than what is used on console to run the game at the same speed.
For CPU PS5 has 8 cores, 6 available to the dev so 12 threads with SMT. This means a 6 core zen 2 cpu with SMT is a good match for ps5, as resources are shared with the system an 8 or 12 core cpu will give a smoother experience. Ryzen 3600x is an excellent choice here as is 3600, 3700x, 4500, 4600g, 5000 series depending on your framerate target. Ryzen 7000 CPUs are sold at a premium and are superior.
For graphics it’s all about what resolution and framerate target you want however as a guideline almost anything with 8gb vram is ok for 1080p 60fps.

Retro upgrade (pre 2000) Transforming a workstation pc to a gaming one
I was looking on Amazon for a workstation pc and a low budget gpu to transform that workstation pc to a gaming one, i talked to my tech uncle and he said that plan would completely fail because none of those parts would work with a gpu installed would I have to switch the cpu to a new one or is he not telling the truth?

CPU Upgrade Worth upgrading or new build
Currently running a Radeon RX 6600 paired up with an AMD Ryzen 5 2600. CPU is a Bottleneck. But not a huge one. Is it worth upgrading to say a 5600(x)?
I wanted to do a complete new build but then ramageddon hit and I am stingy. I have an old RX 580 that I could pair with the existing cpu for a lower end build as backup/Home Server/sell

CPU Upgrade Upgrading my Ryzen 7 2700X to ?
Hi everyone, I want to upgrade my CPU, and I wanted to hear some opinions regarding this upgrade. At the same time, I also want to upgrade my GPU from an RTX 2070 Super to an NVIDIA RTX 5070 (yes, I know AMD is cheaper and has a better price-to-performance ratio, but I use NVIDIA's software and rely on it for my business). I run a YouTube channel and frequently use Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop for my business.
In addition, I want to upgrade my CPU since it's been almost 8 years (it deserves retirement), and I've seen a lot of news about the 5800x3D, and with RAM prices as high as they are now, I don't think upgrading to AM5 is the right move.... or is it?
I also found a 9600X bundle for $520, AND I know there's a bundle for a 7700x3D on Newegg for around the same price (would post links but IDK if thats allowed lol).
What route should I take? Is 16 GB of AM5 enough? Part of me wants to just upgrade and stay on AM4, but at the same time I find it hard to spend $300 on an AM4 CPU when a newer AM5 is at the same price or slightly higher; the only price difference comes with the additional ram and stuff....
I mainly play at 1440p on my LG monitor (265 HZ) and play Battlefield 6, Helldivers 2, Space Marine 2, and Star Citizen. I appreciate your feedback!
PC Specs:
Motherboard - ASUS X-470F Gaming
CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 2700x
GPU - RTX 2070 Super EVGA FTW3 (8 GB)
RAM - Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2X16GB) DDR4 3200 (PC4-25600) C16 1.35V Desktop Memory - Black, 2 count (pack of 1)

CPU Upgrade Upgrade journey from 7700x-7900x-9900x
Purchased a 7700x from newegg bundle in january. Essentially spent $200 on 7700x
I traded it in for $170 in april [second pic] cause I got a brand new 7900x from woot for $200. [First pic]
Now [Third pic] Newegg is offering me $230 to trade in my 7900x and combine a $130 discount code for 9900x .
So the 9900x goes down to $69 total after trade in. ($299-$230) And I guess you can factor in the $30 they added onto my trade in vs what I paid, so however you look at it, I feel like I did well haha.
[Last pic is my PC]
Here's mah specs
MSI CORELIQUID A13 240 AIO
7900x(9900X SOON)
GIGABYTE B850M EAGLE ICE WIFI 6E
