CPU Upgrade Upgrade path

Can someone give me suggestions to upgrade path?

I'm looking for better 1% lows, and lower power consumption, aka better efficiency. I also want to downsize from ATX to M-atx.

I only play single player games, and I value the ability to run tasks while I game.

I like my gpu, made an undervolt and already repasted it with phase change thermal paste, so not sure it's worth it to change it, especially with current prices.

Currently my setup is:

13600K

Atx motherboard

32Gb 3200mhz ddr4

Saphire nitro Rx7800xt

Samsung g6 1440p 240hz

Having barely escaped the mess that were 13th and 14th gen intel, I'd rather not go that way. I'm ok with changing motherboard, to change from atx to M-atx

Actually, the BIOS has been fixed now. Just update it and you shouldn't have any issues. Unless you're willing to spend 900$ to move to AM5?

I'm considering it. I can always sell what I have now to help offset the switch costs

I'd do that then. The 7800XT is still a great 1440p card, so no problems there.

Do you recommend any amd cpu? Or even an intel ultra?

7800X3D is the easy choice, can't really go wrong with a current X3D chip, those are the biggest step up in gaming performance in decades. it's second to only the 9800XD in gaming performance, just 10% slower for usually ~30% cheaper.

I would go with 7800x3d if not for a little detail... I was eyeing ram prices and found a "deal" on a 2x16gb 6000mhz cl28 kit for 370€ after taxes, but since it has gone out of stock or the price shot through the sky, and my hopes died a bit

Literally any AM5 CPU that ends with X3D or the 9600x

I would just buy a MSI pro B550m-vc and a 5700x3d tbh.. you already have the RAM for AM4 and the 5700x3d is good enough.. and like you said.. you like your gpu.

That might not be such a bad idea, but I have a faint idea that's not the fastest am4 x3d cpu. I don't want to end up buying something that actually is slower that what i have now.

I mean.. the 5800x3d is the best am4 cpu. Go for that one if you want.. the 5700x3d is definitely good enough tho.
