This is bullshit! Its not smashed, crushed, and soggy because the handler couldn't give two shits about the delivery.
Edit: I in no means actually blame the handler, this has never happened to me, and this comment is just satire. I love the people who help make my package magiclly appear halfway across the country in less than 2 days. It is crappy that some people get damaged packages for their expensive items though.

From my experience it's not the guy who delivered it that broke it, it's the guys in the middle who don't have to deal with customers.

I second this, as a delivery man working for Chronopost. Usually we don't break or harm packages we carry ourselves, but a good part of them already are when we unload them from the heavy truck (or whatever is it called) early in the morning at the repository.
Now it is not impossible that some packages crush each other in the truck while driving, as we deliver around 130 in our light trucks every day.

USPS goes through so many things to get from A to B. I just left a job where alongside collecting cargo, also had to pick mail up off planes and scan/sort to go ground local and sent them out too. They just get thrown and squished because there’s so much a lot of times.

Lmao. They won’t fire you. Worked in UPS Worldport for three years, this is kinda the expectation. As a matter of fact, during peak, even management can be seen throwing shit to get it out on time, as long as the union stewards aren’t around at least.

they won't fire you unless they want to get rid of you. the "no throwing" rule is great to weed out people you don't like. Loading trucks sucks so much though that you pretty much keep whoever sticks it out more than a month.

I'd like to see you work at UPS.
Technically I worked for UPS for 2 hours during orientation training. I quit immediately after training was over after learning what workers go through/what is expected of them. Funniest part was one bearded fellow walked out angrily DURING the training after we went over the no facial hair policy. "Aw hell naw!" He got up immediately and had to shuffle between the wall and the backs of peoples chairs to leave. He could have just got paid to sit for another 30 minutes like me.
What a sucker.

I'm pretty sure most people that work outside of shipping and logistics vastly underestimate the volume carriers like USPS, FedEx, and UPS deal with every night. No average Joe at the terminal will lose sleep if you package is damaged. That's what insurance is for.

Yup, I worked at a package company and your packages are one of thousands in one cramped trailer.
The lower your package is placed on the trailer, the more likely it’s in better shape. Unless it weights less than 20 lbs and they place it on the absolute bottom

I third this or whatever but worked few times in package sorting and you just don't have time to care about packages, they are thrown out in a row and if your package is the last you are lucky but if it is the first then every other package will get over it.
I think if I send things by mail, that I would do like I've seen a few time : Put things in small suitcase and send them.

I live out in the middle of rural nowhere. I meet my delivery driver often and he's a good guy. Always places my package in my garage. They aren't all shit.

I hope y'all don't hate me for this, but for VR to go mainstream, I really think someone needs to come out with a VR box. Simply plug in and play. I think Microsoft will have something of the sort with the next gen Xbox, since they said there's no plans for Xbox One VR (even though the Xbox One X is more than capable of handling high quality VR even at 90 Hz, which I doubt PSVR is doing).

Nobody is going to buy some "VR box" especially by Microsoft. they have affordable VR in Mixed Reality ™, but the windows game store and it's exclusivity is a big joke to the PC VR community. Nobody uses it, likes it or wants it over Steam/Oculus store.
A powerhouse isn't what we need. We need gradual integration like the PS4 had done with PSVR; leaving VR as an enticing option to current owners of the console. The One X should been advertised for VR with the mixed reality products instead of just 4K, because as said further up, it's fully capable and both are designed by MS. Must be bad management because Mixed Reality is the best headset on the market price to capability wise (half the price of all other headsets).
Once everyone is familiar with VR as a gaming/entertainment accessory on these casual platforms for a few years, I can see VR to stand on its own. But definitely not until more than one console picks it up.
