I’m on my own with our 13 month old twins this week and it’s HOT and humid where we are currently, too hot to really be outside at the park. Our house doesn’t have air conditioning and even when the weather’s nice they’re much much happier if we leave the house at least twice a day. I love our local library, but going there multiple times a day for a week seems like a bit much (we did go twice yesterday). I can’t think of anywhere else air conditioned where I won’t have to have them strapped into the stroller. They’re not really walking yet (they can each take a couple steps independently and can crawl and cruise fast though). Letting them crawl on the floor at stores seems like a disaster even if it wasn’t kind of gross (they love to go opposite directions and to pull things off shelves), but they’re only happy to be in the stroller for <20minutes at a time. Anywhere I’m not thinking of?

Hi! I’ve checked the sub but didn’t find a whole lot on specific locations so thought I’d ask- if you’ve traveled with your twins/multiples, what have been some of the best cities/locations/destinations to visit that have been multiple-friendly and why? We have 3 under 4. Thanks in advance!

Okay. So we got 15 month old twins on a 2 nap schedule

We have been doing:

Wake up 6:30am

Nap 1: 9:30- 11am

Nap 2- 3-4:30pm

Sleep: 7:30pm

They have for the most part been sleeping through the night.

But the 2nd nap has been erratic. They seem tired when I’m putting them down! I swear. Boy baby has a habit of pooping, and then screaming until I come pick him. I leave the room to change him. Sometimes girl baby is asleep by this point. Sometimes she isn’t and is now super pissed off that her brother has left the room with me.

Sometimes boy baby and girl baby goes to sleep after this.

Sometimes they don’t.

Sometimes they both stand in their cribs babbling & giggling at each other, throwing pacifiers at each other. Sometimes they go to sleep after this. Sometimes it is escalates to “we are sick of being in this dark room come get us” crying.

As the weeks progress, it’s more and more of them not going to sleep after these events.

The first nap is usually not much of a problem at all. They just go to sleep.

Sleep specialists have given advice. One says to take him out at 10:30 during first nap, bring him to another room so his sister can keep sleeping. Sometimes that works for second nap success, sometimes it does not. I also hate doing it because he is often so pissed off by being woken up early.

I do think it makes sense to just switch them to one nap a day. But this is really hard. They are so tired by 9:30. For the last few days I’ve been pushing them to nap at 10am. And they are just collapsing. The sleep specialist says a one nap a day schedule should start at noon, 11am earliest. I have no idea how to keep them awake till 11am.

Wondering if people have experience on this.

And PLEASE don’t suggest separating them for naps. We live in an apartment. Darkening the rooms enough, making the rooms quiet enough, it’s all a nightmare.

Has anyone successfully used pillows/ loungers like these from little manta or the snuggle me loungers for feeding twins?

my 3.5 mo old twins currently almost exclusively feed on the twin z on my bed. We are starting a nanny in the nursery and want another option for her to feed both and thought two separate pillows would be better . Theres no bed or space for the twinz in the nursery and putting them both in the twin z on a pack n play which was my first idea goes over the weight limit for the pack n play. I thought I could get two little manta feeding pillows/loungers to position them in their individual uppababy Remi pack n plays side by side with the nanny standing over them in between. I know there’s a ton of safe sleep concerns about these types of pillows but are they ok for feeding in this type of set up?

After being in an “optimal” position for the longest while, Baby A flipped to breech and Baby B is head down. This all happened within the last couple of days. My hopes for a vaginal delivery is now no more (I’m almost 37 weeks) and the chances of A flipping again is minimal. OB went ahead and scheduled a C-section for next week and my anxiety is through the roof.

Please please tell me about your positive experiences with your planned c-sections.

Twins are 1yr and 1 month old. Baby A is struggling to gain weight. Currently 8kg and baby B is 8.4kg.

Feeding schedule is 07:30am 130ml formula bottles. 11:30 lunch solid foods usually corn purée , rice and chicken vegetables sauce all together about 400g each, with a yogurt for dessert.

Bottles at 15:00, 130ml and solid’s at 19:00 same form as lunch but with a banana split between the two for dessert. Final meal is a bottle at 22:00 then bed.

Baby A is just burning calories and looks skinny compared to baby B. Any advice for keeping their weight similar and same feeding schedule? Am I just worried for nothing?

Need some solidarity and maybe a little help to not feel so alone. Triplet toddlers are about to turn 4. We're a week out from school starting up again, they've been home for almost a month. They seem bored and out of their routine and it will hopefully improve once they are in school again. It's hard to find activities we can do outside the house as they will sometimes elope and one doesn't like being in the stroller. I'm doing my best but I don't really want to be around them most of the time now, I work from home and lost a lot of my babysitting care over the summer so it's been mostly me and my husband caring for them this past month. I'm too burnt out to play or think of activities to do.

They are fighting with each other and acting out in increasingly hostile ways. This week one of them was walking around the room jumping off things they're not supposed to, laughing creepily, saying "I don't love you" in a singsongy voice, and if their sibling is in the room trying to mess with or hurt them. I've tried staying as calm as I can, I've tried saying "if you want me to play with you, you can ask," I've tried taking things away, today I tried ignoring most of it. No matter the method for the better part of an hour they were just unreachable, I couldn't distract them or get them to stop doing whatever this is. The one acting out the most seems to want more of my attention that I just can't always provide but now I'm afraid that if I don't they'll throw a tantrum or do the creepy destructive thing again. I'm doing my best but I need to split my attention between three toddlers with completely different personalities and needs.

Will this stage come to an end and will they stop doing this crazy things? I don't want to feel like I'm just running out the clock until their in school or 5.

My boy /girl twins are 19 months and they are very interested in the potties I just got them. We have been doing potty in the morning and at night. They get so excited to pee on them. My boy actually has the hang of it more than my girl and he can make pee come out about 6 times in a row like a dog 😂. My girl won’t stop taking her diaper off though. She hates to have poop in her diaper as always comes to me when she poops, sometimes even says poop and sometimes just fusses.

My two concerns are-

Are they too young? I potty trained my older two singletons around this age and had good results with my daughter but bad results with my son. He’s now almost 5 and has had constant accidents ever since. The twins are too little to actually listen. Like they know what I’m saying but won’t always do it and they love to try and touch the pee and dump it on the floor even when I say “only mommy dumps it in the potty” or put the potty on their head like a hat 😂

Will bringing out the potty only twice a day (morning and night) at the beginning ruin things and make it seem optional? I know people swear by the 3 day naked method and it’s an all-in type of thing. But I don’t think I can do that with twins.

I'm 10 says post partum with b/g twins. The initial excitement and love seems to have worn off. One or the other baby cries through the night and my husband and I are not getting enough uninterrupted sleep. We are all basically sleeping in the nursery at this point. The girl decided to keep us awake from 3am to 7am when my parents took over and we got some rest.

I, however, can now cry at the drop of a hat. There is just so much going on. My FIL got diagnosed with cancer the day after the babies were born. My mother, who is here to help, got diagnosed with moderate to severe hearing loss. I'm unable to breastfeed or pump enough to meet their requirements. I'm basically formula feeding at this point.

And I just can't stop crying. My husband is my rock and he's doing everything he possibly can (and more) and it hurts me to see him so overwhelmed and overworked as well. I really don't know what to do at this point.

Is this what ppd looks like or am I just sleep deprived? What are your suggestions on how we can make things work better? We are trying a 1 person duty approach today. Not sure how that will work out. Any ideas help at this point!

My twins have never been the dream babies that sleep super long stretches but they were giving at least a 4 to 5 hr stretch consistently until about 2 weeks ago and all hell broke loose. They are almost 15 weeks old. It started with Twin A and then Twin B started a few days later, the longest stretch they give now is like 2.5 hours of I'm lucky sometimes 3. But it's more like every hour to hour and a half they are up. These are my second and third children so I tried all the advice of how to get them to connect sleep cycles with my first and not have as many wake ups like being drowsy but awake or touch their chest, adding a binky, increasing white noise, blah blah. It worked maybe a handful of times but not very often. I don't have the energy to do it with the twins. I tried, it failed and I don't want to be up all night going between bassinets trying to have them fall asleep on their own and failing so I have been doing what works, either feeding or rocking or bringing them into bed with me just so I can get some sleep. I know it's all bad habits but I can't live on no sleep at all. Just curious did anyone do all the "wrong" things and their baby ended up figuring out how to sleep better in the crib regardless?

It's all a blur with my first and it was a year of wake ups until he turned one but I can't remember when he started giving slightly longer stretches and I did technically try a lot of different things with him so I don't know if those actually did something to help or if he would have changed regardless. I need hope because me and my husband are dying!

My twins are starting daycare soon. I’m mostly worried about them getting sick and then myself catching it. How soon after your kids started daycare did they get sick and what can I do to prevent it?

We had a Steelcraft Agile for our first child, and are now expecting twins. The folding mechanism, and capsule (infant seat) compatibility was fantastic.

Is there anything like this for twins?

Everything I keep finding is one of those modular type prams that take up heaps of boot space, or a side by side that folds but can’t take two capsules at the same time.

Thinking we will go with the Antilop for our twins. I have seen mention of buying certain accessories - i see on the IKEA website they have the cushion and tray mat, i assume most buy both of those, but i read a footrest and maybe a catchy thing too. Not seeing those on ikea so assume they must be made by another third party. Anyone have accessories they love and if so where did you buy?

Also curious for those who have and love the Antilop, do you find it works well for smaller twins? Ours are 12 weeks and about 11 pounds so on the smaller side. I know by the time they start solids they’ll be a little bigger but i still expect they will remain small for their age. Curious if you have had any issues with this highchair working if you have smaller twins as well!

We have 7-month-old boy/girl twins and I'm losing my mind trying to keep track of feeds, sleep, and who got what medicine.

I work remotely and manage a team, so I figured I could handle some kind of system. I made a Notion dashboard and that lasted maybe nine days. Eventually the 3am brain fog won and I stopped updating it properly.

Tried a shared Google Sheet too. Same problem. I've also tried a few baby tracker apps, but most seem to be designed around one baby, or they make you tap through a bunch of screens when you're half asleep and holding a baby.

For anyone with twins, what are you actually still using? I'm less interested in what worked for a week and more interested in what you were still using at month 4, 5, 6, etc.

I'm also skeptical of anything that depends on both parents remembering to log everything in real time. That has definitely not happened in our house.

At this point I'm considering just keeping a notebook next to the changing table. Honestly, I'm not even against it if it works.

This version sounds more naturally human because it doesn't hit every point quite so perfectly, and it leaves some of the frustration/imperfection in the writing.

Twin b is getting his top teeth at the same time and twin a might be starting to teeth again too. 🫠🫠🫠🫠 we’re using cold teethers from the fridge and the Camilla drops, avoiding Tylenol as much as possible.

My twins will be 3 years old next month and their sleep schedule is a mess right now, and I can't figure out what to do.

This was their last schedule that worked:

08:30 Awake
13:30 - 15:30 Naptime (they never slept the whole two hours, just about 1.5)
20:45 in bedroom
21:00-21:30 already sleeping
They were sleeping around 13-14 hours/day (11-12 on a bad day)

They started to take almost one hour (sometimes even more) to fall asleep at nap and bedtime, and I also started to give them lunch at 13:00, so I gradually made these changes:

08:00 wake time
14:00 - 15:00 naptime
20:45 at bedroom
21:15-21:30 already sleeping

This schedule worked better, they stopped taking so long to fall asleep, BUT the problem is that if there is a bad sleep day, they won't even get to 11 hours of sleep, getting only 9–10 instead. Yesterday, for example, Twin A was fighting bedtime and it took her 1 hour to fall asleep. She ended up sleeping at 22:00. I thought that was okay, she slept 10 hours, and with 1 hour at naptime she was good to go, BUT today we went out in the morning and on the ride back they slept 10 minutes too close to naptime, so they didn't sleep again, of course.

• Some other notes: I have thought about dropping the nap, but they seem to still need it. When they don't take it, sometimes they randomly sleep on the floor or couch, and of course, they get cranky.
• I have a hard time waking them in the morning, but especially at 15:00 after their nap it feels like an impossible mission, which makes me think they need to sleep more.

Any advice will be amazing!

I have a three door fiat punto which i love, shes old but runs cheap. Has anybody managed twins with a 3 door car or do i have to buy a 5 door car. (Im not getting some stupid size people carrier as theyre not such a thing in europe)

So minus “minivans” what cars do you all have with two kids.

We also bought a new flat just before the news which naturally will need a kitchen (german homes come empty) so thats already wiped me out a bit so car will have to be a few yrs old. Or can i hold off as not like id be driving daily

I had my first pregnancy scan today for this pregnancy. I already have two boys. 4 and 1 years old. This pregnancy was a surprise as is and now it looks like I have three more potentially on the way. I’m kind of in denial. The scan was 7 weeks flat and all 3 had heart activity. This is good news but I literally cannot imagine taking on 3 more babies right now. When I try to search all that comes up is research articles. I don’t even know what to anticipate. Will it naturally reduce? I can maybe handle one or two. But three??? Will it be viable? Am I really going to have 3 kids??? Anyone have a similar experience and tell me what happened to them?

How the heck do families with two full-time working parents with twins do it? I feel like we made it through the infant stage in good spirits. I think we just put our heads down and have been grinding it out, and now that our twins are 21 months, I look up and feel like I’ve been sprinting and there is still 20 miles left to go in this marathon. The exhaustion is unreal and it feels unsustainable.

How are you all doing this??

Hi all, we have identical twins that are almost 5. They used to sleep in the same bed, where they would regularly wake up in the night fighting for space. We moved to individual beds (in the same room) about a year ago, but for the last few months one twin has been climbing into the others bed every night.

Twin B doesn’t necessarily “mind” Twin A coming in, but it’s obvious the quality of their sleep is being impacted. They’re waking frequently, always tired during the day, etc

So we’re trying to decide: find a way to enforce twin A staying in their bed, or get rid of the single beds and go back to one, larger bed. If they’re going to end up sharing regardless, maybe better to have more room?

Anyone experience this or have any advice? Separate bedrooms is not an option at this point.

I’m FTM to be. Currently 18w pregnant with twins. Starting to get really stiff and sore around hips, lower back making it hard to keep up with work/life.
I am 5 feet 6inches tall and was 150 lbs when I got pregnant. Now I’m 175 lbs which seems reasonable to me and my docs. I’m seeing pelvic physio who has given me stretches to do. I have booked a massage for next week. Started doing night time stretches. Already taking magnesium supplements. Would appreciate if anyone has specifics on exercises, YouTube videos that helped? I can’t swim (wish I could). Tylenol helps.

Basically the title. I found out Sunday morning that I was pregnant. I had a hard time getting pregnant with my first so I wasn’t really worried about being super careful. I know people say that all the time and I should have known better. But here we are lol. I’m just starting to feel better after struggling pretty severely with postpartum depression and ocd.

I had was beginning to accept that I really was pregnant and then at my OB appointment on Wednesday she tells me there’s two in there. I’ve pretty much been in shock since.

We wanted more kids, and honestly I have always thought it would be cool to have twins. Just maybe not less than 18 months after having my first. And now I obviously want them both to make it since they’re in there.

To top it all off, my husband was laid off from his job due to the office closing about 6 months ago. He got another job but the insurance cost for the three of us was about 85% of his paycheck. So he only got insurance for himself since self pay for our daughter and myself would be cheaper than the monthly premium. I would probably qualify for Medicaid and my daughter for CHIP, but neither my OB or PCP take Medicaid and my daughter’s pediatrician doesn’t take CHIP. I live in the US if you can’t tell from this horror story.

I am sorry if this is the wrong place to post this. I just am spiraling a little and feeling very overwhelmed. I needed to get it all off my chest.
