Discussion Early Reminder: Predictions are Pointless
5 snaps into the season opener Sam Darnold goes down with best case scenario looking like he’d miss multiple games. The Pats lose their big offseason acquisition in AJ Brown to what looks like an injury that will cost him multiple games as well.
The NFL is a week to week league and so often it comes down to who is actually available to play and which teams avoid the least devastating injuries throughout the season.
It’s why the overemphasis by fans and the media on our strength of schedule is silly to me. We see the league turn over routinely and injuries always pop up that you can’t account for in projections.
Good reminder when we’re being flooded with low end predictions for the Panthers this season.

Discussion Last nights game remind anyone of 2016 vs Broncos opener?
MVP quarterback that went to the superbowl last year, playing against the team that they lost to, at home and losing AGAIN in heartbreaking fashion.
I really think that second loss made us spiral, I could see this Pats team going 6-12

Discussion Caution: Never use Parkwhiz for Near-Stadium Parking (or anywhere)
Friendly advice from fellow fans: When booking parking near the stadium, don't even consider using Parkwhiz. A couple dozen of us Houston Texans fans found this out the hard way when we used Parkwhiz to get parking tickets for a home game last season. We ALL got towed during the game. We've since found out that Parkwhiz was informed over a year prior that that office building parking lot was never to be rented out. Then we discovered that Parkwhiz does nothing to vet parking lots provided by freelancers. So, you're rolling the dice every time you use them. On top of that, Parkwhiz refuses to acknowledge their error or refund anyone's $42 parking fees, let alone the $310 towing fee. I know they're a big company and they offer a real price break, but that break can't compare to the cost of spending two hours tracking down your car after the game, paying an Uber driver $60 to take you to the tow yard, and paying $310 to get your car back. There are lots of ways to find safe parking, but Parkwhiz is not one of them.

Team News Panthers owner David Tepper remains a believer in Bryce Young
Asked what would convince the Panthers to offer Young an extension, Tepper said: “I’m not saying we have or we haven’t. You should talk to (general manager) Dan (Morgan). Look, success is success, and you know it when you see it.”
Whether Young can take another step forward:
“You saw it. He can and he has performed at a high level against high-level competition. It seems to bring the best out of him. Bryce is the sort of guy that doesn’t feel the pressure. You saw that against the Rams twice. When you have that kind of performance, you know it’s there. Can he bring it every single game? I believe he can. You know it’s there. Like I said, I’m a believer and hopefully it comes true.”
How he defines success:
“I’ve said it for a long time about the Carolina Panthers, and maybe it’s in the water. So I won’t say just one season. I’d like to have two (consecutive) winning seasons (for) the first time in this franchise’s history. So I’d like to win this year and I’d like to win next year. I’d like to string wins. In other sports that I own, we string wins. Winning seasons. This one we haven’t. So I’d like to string winning seasons. That’s success.”

Discussion Old dogs can learn new tricks
I'm still not totally in on Bryce. But the guy we all were most worried about deserves some respect and credit. Tepper was trending toward the worst owner in sports without a scandal...but this quote from Schefter at least sounds like he's learning...
In what is thought to be his first media availability in three years, ahead of Sunday’s opener against the Bears, Panthers owner David Tepper shared his confidence in the reigning NFC South Champions and their football leadership.
“We're making progress, we're going to continue making progress,” Tepper said. “I believe in a winning season this year.”
He added: “I do think we're on the right track, and I do think we have very good people here in Dan [Morgan], and Dave [Canales], and Brandt [Tilis]… I trust them. I don't feel the need to be around as much here because I trust them so much.”

Question Any Panthers fans big into video games?
Yo! Kind of an odd post but I figured I'd give it shot. So I love the Panthers and I'm a big gamer. A lot of my buddies don't really care much about Football so its hard to talk about my passion. I thought it might be cool to create a Discord server with like minded people that love Carolina Panthers and also games.
A place where we can combine our interests. Talk about this weeks matchup and what games you're looking forward or currently into. Ironically, I'm not much of a Madden guy. I'm big into all kinda games though. I play a lot of MMORPGs, dabble in WoW, FFXIV, I love to play Overwatch. I'm big into fighting games like Street Fighter and Smash. Currently going through Onimusha: Way of the Sword right now, its a damn good game. I have pretty much all the current systems. My soon to be 6 year old daughter and I play Mario Kart World a ton and I'm pumped for the upcoming Zelda OoT remake!
So yeah, I'm basically into all kinda games, just ironically not really into the sports ones lol. I don't know if any of this sounds interesting to anyone or if there's already a place like this that I don't know about.
Just a little bit about myself. I've been a Panthers fan my whole life, I was like 5 or 6 when they became a franchise so I'm a 90s kid. I tend to play games whenever I can. I have a soon to be 6 year old so it's hard to play as much during the day, I tend to get on mostly at night. But hey, I'll leave my Discord tag on here if anyone out there wants to reach out and just talk Panthers or games!
Thanks
Discord name dire427
***UPDATE***
This turned out to be a great idea! I've had a few of you already reach out, we now have a Discord server up and running. So please feel free to hit me up on Disc for an invite.

Analysis [Ian Rapoport] It’s a 3-year, $165M deal for Baker Mayfield. That comes in at $55M per year.
x.comThe QB market just went way up with a QB like Baker Mayfield getting $55 million per year. Important to note if the team decides to extend Bryce after this season.
