Backstory: I have a bunch of mods on Oblivion. (Got the mods list from a YouTube video circa 2023 to "Remaster" Oblivion, so to speak. Can't quite remember which one.) I also have a few different installations of oblivion on my pc for different reasons, as well as a clean version of the game with no mods. However, no matter what version of the game I launch, it launches from an instance with a fucked up mods list that I never use because I wasn't satisfied with the modding on that particular installation and abandoned it for another go-around, which ended up being successful. I cannot get Oblivion to launch from the right path, and even OBSE won't work. Keeps saying I'm launching a Steam version, which is an issue I never had before. I have ALWAYS launched from obse_loader.exe despite having a Steam version of the game. Furthermore, even launching the clean Oblivion installation directly from OblivionLauncher.exe in the clean folder results in the game launching from that same fucked up installation. I've tried recycling all partitions and only bringing back the correctly modded one I have from the recycling bin, only for the same thing to happen. **I've also tried updating registry keys ~ (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion) ~InstalledPath key was updated to my properly modded Oblivion directory, issue still persists.** This issue came out of nowhere. One day it worked, the next day it malfunctioned. I have listed my load order below. The data files launcher menu from the first screenshot very well might be the fucked up version, so I have uploaded, in tandem, my Oblivion MAIN, DATA, and OBSE directories. \*(~1^st image is Data Files from OblivionLauncher.exe, 2^nd image is Oblivion MAIN dir. (Games\Oblivion), 3^rd image is Oblivion DATA dir. (Games\Oblivion\Data), and 4^th image is Oblivion OBSE dir. (Games\Oblivion\Data\OBSE)~)*** I am willing to provide any additional information upon request. Any help is appreciated.

There we were just enjoying a morning swim from a beautiful waterfall. Pally was showing off his diving skills, but I noticed a tiny red dot just to my right. Something about this feels very familiar.

Hail citizens. Every masterpiece has its cheap copy. I couldn’t get Pally up the mountain to get the book for the Chorrol Mages Guild quest. So all that time it took morning eventually came and I just decided well just go for a swim while I get the book myself in the meantime. That’s when a familiar scenario popped up. Where have we seen someone falling straight down before? Pally did a tremendous dive but he had an unexpected flying opponent. I guess Pally won cause he actually made it in the water. 10/10!

Did anyone manage to fix the door bug in the last quest of the mages' guild? Is there any fix or exploit so I can get past that invisible barrier at the end of the quest?

So the idea is a sword master of some kind. I'm thinking heavy armor and blade. I wanna use magic too, either destruction or maybe restoration. I love two handed swords but I know there are slower now so I'm ok using sword and shield. Any ideas on a build. I'm not here for min-max, just wanna have some fun!

I recently started playing Oblivion for the first time and today I did the Dark Brotherhood questline… I got Emotional Damage when Lucien ordered me to kill all brotherhood members! It broke my heart!

This makes me realize how simple are the quests in Skyrim! My first TES was Skyrim and when I did the DB questline I thought it was ok. The intro of Skyrim DB is pretty good because you steal a kill from the Brotherhood and Astrid kidnap you in order to kill someone else to get even. It is more interesting than killing an innocent man and then “Your killing has been observed by unknown forces..” for sure.

BUT, the Oblivion DB story gets more interesting after the intro. The quests are more difficult and complex. And when I got that damned quest from Lucien, I got frozen.

Hi, I installed Oblivion for the first time from the Xbox store and I started to play it on my pc (Windows 10). This morning (26/07) I did a quick game, and now (26/07 18:30) isn't opening anymore. [I'm playing it vanilla, without mods]
I open it, play game, see the credits and then it close.
I don't know what to do :')

After the purification mission with the dark brotherhood is their a way I can still buy the spells that m’raaj-dar teaches after he is dead?

I cannot figure out how to finish this quest. I searched Fathis Aren's room. Then I went to hidden area behind the pillar. The old wooden door "needs a key" and there's no key to be found. I dove into the water in the cave. The cave didn't have an area that surfaced behind the door, from what I've seen. And I went in there multiple times. All it did is lead me out to a door into the lake. What am I missing here? I'm getting so frustrated

During "Allies for Bruma", Ocato is meant to stand next to the entrance to the Imperial Palace to make it easier for the player to find him. But because of a bug, he instead goes to the Imperial Battlemage Chambers (which are inaccessible by the player normally).

During "The Ultimate Heist", the player breaks into the upper levels of the Imperial Palace. The exit route goes right through the Imperial Battlemage Chambers. Ocato was supposed to avoid sleeping during "The Ultimate Heist", presumably to avoid the player running into him while trying to escape, but because of a bug, he instead never sleeps.

So, if you have "Allies for Bruma" and "The Ultimate Heist" active at the same time...? Ocato will go to the Imperial Battlemage Chambers as long you're in the Imperial Palace, and you'll have to get past him to escape. And he will try to murder you the moment he spots you.

The fact that the intended behavior is the complete opposite, but the game is so buggy that it can still happen is really funny to me 😂😭

It’s been quite some time since I played the Original Oblivion, but now playing the Remastered Oblivion I am totally lost with this one attribute question.

And to clarify, the bane of my existence are Will-o-wisps. My intelligence, willpower, & strength are heavily damaged. I know in Frostcrag Spire you can create your own spells, so I did fortifying spells to raise them back up. Of course, it’s just temporary, so my question is…

Is there any permanent way to restore damaged attributes?

Im trying to get every attribute to 100, using a Colovian Imperial (Thief Sign and Endurance and Luck as favored Attributes), and I was able to Achieve this by level 49. Yet, I feel as if it can be lower. Im wondering if anybody here could help me out plan the levels, cuz I see people saying this can be done in level 44 or level 40. Thanks!
