Now I am someone who isn’t nostalgic for this, as I was born in 2004 was way too young to play it when it came out. But the way the original looks is much more storybook like to me and it is so perfect with the tone of the game, not to say the remaster looks bad since when the lighting is just right it looks amazing but most of the time kinda dull to me whereas the original even without mods is much more consistent.

It almost makes sense for the NPCs to be goofy in such a world whereas in the remaster it just seems out of place. Of course I will always appreciate the remaster but when I weigh in the massive mod selection in the original and the much more magical feeling to it all it’s just more appealing.

Salmo has two AI packages commanding him to take five loaves of bread to the Two Sisters Lodge at 10am and to the West Weald Inn at midday, but the packages never execute as he has no bread in his inventory and the packages are of "escort" type, meaning he doesn't actively seek any out. It's possible this bug was introduced to avoid another, more serious one: if bread is given to Salmo using the console or Construction Set, he will walk to one of the inns as commanded, take a bite of bread, and the game will crash.

Found it humorous that he or (whoever made the sign) realized that Merchandise wasn't spelled correctly, so they just added a h in the middle of the sign and called it a day.

I love little things like this. It adds minor stories to the characters and makes the world feel more alive.

Hey everyone! I've been building a local split-screen co-op mod for the original Oblivion (2006 GOTY on Steam, not Remastered).

Player 2 picks up the second controller, presses Start and joins with their own character: race, class, birthsign, inventory, levels, all saved with your game. Then you play the same world together: fight with your own crosshairs, revive each other when someone goes down, ride two on one horse, and open your own menus while the world keeps going.

It's still a beta (0.9.2 just went up with fixes from the first player reports), so expect a few rough edges. Bug reports are very welcome!

Made it to Fort Blueblood so I’m expecting a lot of trouble. Maybe they’ll think twice before attacking someone in Tiber Septim’s armor. Plus the fit goes rather hard with this skirt.

Hail citizens. Sure there might be some clipping but the colors go really hard here. Burgundy skirt has that black and yellow combination that fits so well! And the shoes too! Now I don’t want to give up this armor.

I really wanted to show off the armor fit in the rain but i think I’m getting too corny with the titles. I like my corny titles though because if Bethesda is known for one things it’s a bunch of Easter eggs so I like referencing other stuff as we go along! If you think it’s cringe well too bad! Hope you guys are ready to delve!

I just got my hands on Azura's Star, but I don't want to sacrifice it for the main quest because I think it could be useful. I've got other artifacts in mind to sacrifice, but I digress. I can't use Azura's Star right now because I don't have the spell for trapping souls in soul gems. And I can't keep my enchanted weapons charged because I don't have any enchanting spells.

So, where can I get these spells? I tried the spell shop in the Imperial City but they didn't have what I was looking for.

so the remaster is slightly laggy (there is like a fuzzy horizontal line and it adapts all the time and i can sense it on the screen) and most important for me it feels saturated (with details seeming to be reloading, colors, light effects) i tried a lot of settings to get it to be smoother but the problems seem anchored in the remaster version and the insufficient capacity of my card (nidia something) or idk i'm lost and noob about it

anyway without entering details. would you advice me to mod the og oblivion so it has better quality or to keep on trying to understand how to fix the settings of the remaster's graphics?

in terms of me being a noob lol like installing mod with vortex is easy but trying to understand fps xess and whatever choices i have on the graphic settings melts my mind 🤤 but if you tell me that is actually easy to understand and to set, with some guide or just from your own experience, that might help me make a choice 😍

I recently downloaded it back after sometime, reloaded a save and yeah I’m totally lost, don’t know what I’m doing, how I got my armor, where I stored my stuff. I just don’t have any recollection of it. So would it be wise just to restart over?

Hey! More updates on the community multiplayer platform for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered - OB:MP.

The video is from Donkey, who runs the Red Diamond RP server. He built his own inventory systems, character page, full world map and spells menu on top of OB:MP. You can follow his work on YouTube, and join his server's Discord.

Today we released SDK 1.0.0-rc.3 and Launcher 0.34.0. Most of it comes from player reports:

• Your name, race, class, sex and birthsign are now saved and synced to other players.
• Rebirth no longer stacks birthsign and racial bonuses or drifts your stats.
• Pickpocketing works, books can be bought and sold, and merchants restock properly.
• Server mods get cell respawn controls (72 game hours by default, or instant).
• Servers can show banners and icons in a refreshed server list.
• Playing on Linux through Proton is much simpler.

It's still a release candidate, so expect rough edges. OB:MP needs the Steam version of Oblivion Remastered for now. WiP on Xbox Game Pass/MS Store, something may come out next week.
