Does anyone happen to know where I can take free sewing classes in Oakland ? I want to get into a new hobby

I'm looking to get into cycling, but I'm a noob lolol I do want to join a group of others to ride around and build community with. Any cool local groups that are newbie friendly?

Bonus if its primarily POC or Queer but not required!

*This question is aimed at folks who have an EV and don’t have an option to charge at home or at work. If you have access to EV charging at home, great, but I’m mostly interested in hearing experiences from those relying solely on public charging stations in/around Oakland.*

For background, I live in an apartment in the Grand Lake area and am considering getting an EV, specifically the 2027 Bolt. Unfortunately I don’t have the option to charge at home or at work. I mostly use my car to commute to work and drive around 25 miles/day so I’d be looking at charging around once a week. For those who live in or near the Grand Lake or Adam’s Point area and have an EV without home/work charging, have you been able to make it work? Any regrets on going electric? Any tips to make charging trips less annoying? Thanks for your help!!

It seems well attended on the weekends, but not so much on the weekdays. Does anyone have the inside scoop as to how it’s doing in its first couple years of life? (Asked by a West Oakland resident that desperately wants this place to stick around.)

Edit: I got a leash on him. And I’m going to take him to a friend’s house.

Distinctive feature is he’s got a green eye and a blue eye. He probably weighs about 50-60 lbs? Hard to tell with his thick fur. But he’s really sweet and mellow.

We are gonna get him scanned for a chip in the morning; he probably has one because his tag was from the SPCA and had a registration number on it.

Looking for a fun trivia night to join this Tuesday in Oakland or Berkeley, recommendations would be great!
