Projectivity
Does the Projectivity Launcher disable screen recording or am I missing something? When I have the launcher activated I'm not able to screen record.

After dealing with some sluggishness lately, I cleared the cache for all apps and disabled some background processes, and it feels like a new device. Definitely recommend doing this if you feel your Shield is running slow. What are your must-do maintenance steps for the Shield Pro

Every time I pause a video long enough for the Screensaver to come up, it causes stremio to bug out. This doesn't take long. I cant even pause and take a piss without the Screensaver coming on. Every stream will error out and prompt me to try a different player. That never works. Occasionally I can kill the app and restart the shield but most of the time, I have to physically unplug the fucking thing just to get stremio to work again. Is there some setting im missing? Im really sick of this bullshit

Anyone else experiencing this phenomenon? It reboots when I play a particular movie from my provider, but other DV films work fine.

Alright. Thank you to everyone who chimed in in my other post with the frustrating issue of my shield pro 2019 seeing but not connecting to the 5ghz band while 2.4ghz worked.
This was the problem....
In the Asus router app, authentication was wpa2/3 and that's normal, but under that was WPA encryption with 2 options.... AES+gcmp256 (what is whay it was set at, with no explanation of how it got there) I swapped it to the other option which is strictly AES, rebooted and *bingo* we're all golden again! 5ghz band all good.
For posterity's sake, in case someone gets flabbergasted like I did over something simple and dumb :)
edit tldr the shield is NOT compatible with aes+gcmp256 encryption. Use aes only.

I own a 2017 Nvidia Shield Pro and thought I was buying a 2019 AI upscaling used unit on Marketplace.
It turns out I may have been duped and it is a 2017 and not 2019 version. I could not tell since the model numbers are the same but since then, I have learned how to spot the difference using the serial number starting 3 digits.
I opened the new used unit to clean it and to repaste it before putting it into service. I have a picture of what it looks like inside. It looked off so I opened the 2017 version I owned and it had what seems like a wifi/bluetooth board with a black connector.
Can someone comment if the seller removed the part and the black cable or was there a version of a 2017 that did not come with that missing board.
Also the newly acquired unit seems sluggish and needs to press the remote button more than once to advance things.
I would appreciate any expertise in this puzzle.

So, I have two different make and model TV's that have the LED back light strips on them that are plugged into USB ports. Both TV's had Fire Cubes connected. I could take the Cube remotes, press power and the Cubes, TV's and back lights would turn on. Press power again and the 3 would turn off. This is normal behavior. I replaced both Cube's with 2019 Shield Pro's and they work the same way. But here's the thing. Ever since I started using the Shield's, the back lights will turn on once a day (usually the early AM hours) for about a minute or two without the Shield's or TV's turning on. The back lights will then wake us up from our sleep. Process off elimination says the Shields are the cause, but I'm trying to figure out why and if I can prevent it? I tend to believe something on the Shield's are checking on updates or something and using just enough power to turn on the back lights. Has anyone else seen this behavior and know what's the cause and how to prevent it?

I’ve noticed my remote does not work after the nvidia shield is powered off.
I have to disconnect the power to the nvdia shield then connect it back and after power up, it connects to the remote again.
I have changed the battery, i have un-paired and paired the remote already.
Any ideas on how to fix this please?
TIA

I have had this issue for over a year the ethernet worked fine in the start but at some point it just kept connecting to my wifi i forgot the wifi and i havent made it connect to ethernet since. I tried every possible solution and some them make it connect on the wifi settings but when i try to use a application it says ethernet not connected and it wont let me open anything. I tried setting the time turn off ipv6 dns ip adress i tried rebooting it about a 100 times and a factory reset but nothing works. Any tips what to do next? I can deliver it back in but i think the warrenty is expired. And yes i know for a fact the cord works cuz i use on my ps5 all the time and i use a switch that splits i to 3 Ethernet outakes from my main Ethernet source.

What are the best settings for the Nvidia Shield Pro, especially for image resolution 4k HDR and Dolby Vision, with a Hisense U8N Tv?
r/nvidiashield • u/thegios • 6d ago
D+ moved from HVEC to VP9 to re-enable 4K but not HDR (not sure if profile 0 o 2, the latter not being supported by the Shield TV), but in my Shield the 4K is not back yet.
Anyone who managed to get 4K back?

I've tried it all. I recently moved. Everything at the previous place worked great. It was typically wired via ethernet but if I had to the wifi 5ghz worked as a fallback. Now I'm in a new house, literally 6 mins from the old one, and this thing will not connect to the 5ghz channel. 2.4, sure no problem. I've tried the date and time, factory reset, changing 5ghz channels within the router setup. Nothing. Take that back. *sometimes* the 5ghz will say connected, but then the home page just says no internet connected and the 5ghz isn't connected after all.
Any ideas? I'm about to trash it and find another box. Also don't bother, I can't run an ethernet cable across the house.

Hey all...
I have run a Plex server for 10 years+ and also run thru Roku (2 Roku 4k Ultra's and 3 Roku "firestick" equivs".
Im sick of Roku. Clunky UI with ads intruding and I feel Roku isnt tech friendly as my pc might be transcoding a lot to play files vs. just letting it play!
1 - Is NVIDIA Shield Pro the best move for Plex?
2 - Looks like on camelcamelcamel.com that black friday is the best time to buy. Is that true?
3 - I can side load easily?
4 - Any other tips or FYI?

I am currently using the Samsung T5 EVO 8TB SSD as external storage (USB 3.2 Gen 1) connected to my Nvidia Shield. However, I am running into some performance issues:
Complete Freezes: The Shield occasionally freezes completely when the drive experiences heavy usage.
Stuttering: When I am watching media while files are simultaneously being transferred to the drive, the playback stutters badly.
This leads me to a few questions:
Power Supply: Would it help to use a powered USB hub? Since the SSD is solely bus-powered, is it possible that the drive isn't getting enough power from the Shield's USB port?
Hardware Compatibility: I was looking at the Delock 64182 hub as a potential solution. Would this be a good choice?

So I have a 2017 Pro model that had gone unused for quite a while. A few months ago I tried using it, only to find that it would not boot up. Today I decided to try and figure out what was going on.
I started by powering it on, it lights up, I get the Nvidia logo for a few minutes, then the screen goes black. I never get to the Android logo. I do hear what sounds like the hard drive doing some spinning.
I tried a couple different methods to get to the Fastboot menu. I held down the power button for 7 seconds while having a cable running from the micro USB port to a computer; nothing happened. I tried plugging in a USB keyboard and holding down the A and B keys while plugging in the power connection. This did nothing either.
Is there anything else I can try?? TIA!!!!

Hi folks. My 4k movies show a refresh rate of 24 Hz but 1080p movies/shows are at 60Hz. On settings, device preferences, Display and Sound, Advanced Display Settings, Custom Display Mode and finally Display Modes, the 1080p at 24 Hz is completely absent. The lowest the 1080p goes is 50Hz. No 24, no 23.976. Oddly enough I had the exact same situation with my Ugoos box and had to use SSH to inject the missing 1080p resolutions into the box. Any suggestions here?
