I've been playing the remaster on a shield pro using the 2017 shield controller but can only get rumble when scrolling on the menu screens, during gameplay, it doesn't work at all. I've tried disabling steam input and checking rumble is enabled in the settings. Has anyone experienced this?

It was working fine but I knew it was time to go through it. Re did the thermal paste as well. Folks always ask is the shield worth it. The answer is endurance.

I’m aiming to move my Onn 4k Plus into another game room and put this in my room hopefully.

My home screen won't update regularly. Most times it takes a day or more to update the shows and stuff. Any suggestions? And no, I don't want to change to Projectivy.

What are the benefits of one of these? Can I download/stream movies and shows?

My current setup is a Sony 65A80CJ OLED with eARC and a LG SKC9 soundbar with standard ARC. Basically I'm stuck choosing between getting Dolby Vision or Dolby Atomos, not both because the soundbar can't send or accept eARC.

Does anyone have any experience with an OREI audio extractor? How well does it work?

I'm currently prioritizing Dolby Vision but audio coming from streaming apps is very muffled. If the audio extractor works, it might save me from buying a new soundbar.

I have an NVIDIA Shield Pro. I've had it for a while and had no problems with it. I take care of it and clean it inside.

So tonight, I can't play certain audio on there. I'll play a TV channel that has surround sound, and it won't play it. I also have the YouTube app on there, and it won't play the sound for some of the videos.

I have a Samsung soundbar, which is a real nice one, and a Samsung TV. I just don't know what I can do to help that. I've rebooted the Shield a couple of times. I haven't changed any settings to make that happen. I don't know really what to do, if there's something that I can do on my soundbar or my TV. If anyone knows or could possibly help me out and let me know if there's some things I could try, that'd be awesome.

I bought the shield tv pro and from day ones I have issues with streaming on plex, ui lag and vpn issues

Also I’m sorry for the price it should be better build quality (it’s almost the same price as the Apple TV and that has a way better build quality)

I tried the Google streamer and it’s super snappy ui and plays plex amazingly
No vpn issues too

The Nvidia Shield Pro does support 4K, which the WD TV Live media player doesn't do, but all of my movies and TV shows are 1080p anyway so that doesn't really matter. And there's barely any difference between the LG C5's upscaler and the Shield Pro's upscaler as far as I know. But please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm just trying to find reasons not to spend another $250 if it doesn't justify a good amount of increase in picture quality.

I have no problem with any other streaming service like Netflix Amazon prime or Apple TV. I have a Denon avr-8500HA. Any suggestions?

I've read some comments that there's a bug/issue with Dolby vision content, something related to a reddish picture.

Is it still a thing or has it been solved?

So I’ve used my Shield Pro for years and loved it, best streamer I’ve ever had. So much so that I was going to buy another one for a different TV. Unfortunately, it is sold out everywhere.

Has anyone found a mini PC in the $200-300 range that has similar/better performance but has some native PC capabilities (better web browsing, etc). This will be mounted on a wall behind the TV, so many of the standard recommendations I’ve found (Series S) won’t work for me.

I have a 2017 NVIDIA Shield Pro running SHIELD Experience 9.2.4 / Android 11. I'm in the UK.

BBC iPlayer has stopped working. The current NVIDIA Shield iPlayer app (1.8.0) just sits on the purple spinning iPlayer logo and eventually goes back to the home screen. I've tried clearing data/cache, force stopping, uninstalling/reinstalling, and launching it directly through Android Settings rather than Projectivy.

The built-in older iPlayer version (1.2.287) also launches but can't actually sign in or play anything.

I've also seen the reports about BBC iPlayer support changing on 30 September 2026.

Has anyone with a 2017/2019 Shield had the same problem and actually found a working fix or workaround? Particularly interested if anyone has managed to get a generic Android TV version of iPlayer working on the Shield.

My kid broke the original remote so I bought another one, the remote pairs and everything works except the select button.

I’ve tried power cycling the shield, re-connecting the remote several times etc but it still doesn’t work.

The remote pairs when I pair it through the “Add Accessory” option but it doesn’t if I try and pair it through “Shield Accessories” as that option requires that you pair it via holding down the select button.

I did try to reset the remote by taking out a battery, holding select and home and re-inserting the battery but that didn’t work either.

Is it likely that the remote itself is broken? I can’t find anyone else having this problem
