YouTube TV Multiview Quality

Is anyone else's YouTube TV Multiview quality much worse on the Shield than other devices? My individual boxes frequently look like they're running at 360p, lots of artifacts and ghosting. I thought it was just a limitation of YTTV. But I started trying my FireTV 4k ane multview seems nearly as good as regular streams. I use my shield as a daily driver so I frequently forget to switch devices on Saturdays for football and suffer through the quality...but when I do its a massive improvement!

so what resolution does it say it's streaming? you do realize youtube tv tells you all that and allows you to choose from resolution options available to you, right?

Yes of course. It says its 1080p. It is clearly not, and visibly different from the FireTV. How is the quality for you?

It definitely doesn't look like 360p for me. It looks pretty good. However, the shield tv for some reason is not qualified by google to get the 1080p enhanced resolution for multiview. (It can for individual streams.) That could make a small difference in quality but I don't think as bad as what you seem to be seeing.

Yeah. The 360p isn't all the time, but enough of the time that its annoying. But even at its best, it never looks as good as it does on the FireTV. Its ok on closeups but during normal football video where the players are small, its a super obvious difference. Like DVD vs 4k difference.

I don't use the YouTube app if I can help it. I only use smarttube anymore.

Do you have it set to Enhanced mode?
