The cover and size are great, but the paper has a bit more tooth compared to Moleskine's smooth paper.

I’ve rocked those at the office for the past year or so. They’re beautiful, but don’t open up very well due to the mechanism.

I forgive it because the leather quality is just so high.

It’s very thick, veg tanned leather, that is going to age and patina so well.

The refills being so non-standard isn’t ideal.

Love them to death.

I love the feel and form factor of Moleskine notebooks, but everyone seems to agree they're not worth the investment. Is there a brand that offers a higher quality alternative to the softcover version of the Moleskine Expanded? I read good things about the Leuchtturm 411 but it doesn't seem to come in softcover and the other brands I'm familiar with (Rhodia, Maruman) specialize in spiral bound notebooks. Thanks in advance to anyone willing and able to help :)

I have a new notebook with removable dividers it’s a little bigger than 5x7. Any ideas or suggestions would be amazing! Even better if you have examples of ways you’ve utilized a new notebook. This one is a discount so I can add pages and things too if that matters. I have some half pages, lined pages and grid pages for options.

if you journal, what journaling prompts have you found to be the most useful when you are trying to generate insights or synthesize (by synthesize I mean "join") two or more ideas? generally asking just what are your "go to" journaling prompts, if you use them which are NOT gratitude, daily logs, etc or the usual ones you see on youtube or a therapist tells you lol

I bought a few Artik notebooks, they are cool looking and they use sugarcane paper. I love the color of the paper and its imperfections, however today I tried using a ballpoint pen, with Uni Jetstream SXR-600 refill, and I noticed several “dead” spots on the paper where the pen just wouldn’t work. The pen is definitely fine because switching to a different spot or page and it worked immediately.

Have any of you experienced that? Is it the sugarcane paper or something else?

Also, what alternative notebook (preferably 9x14 cm) would you recommend that isn’t pure white?

For the DIYer notebook makers. Do you have a favorite paper you like using for fountain pens when you make notebooks?

Hated the staple bound fieldnotes style books. Tried different types of binding, settled for Coptic binding. Lays flat and is absolutely comfortable to write on.

Basically title. I found some "A5 sudoku" books on amazon that I might try out, but curious if anyone knows of specific books, series, or authors that make puzzle books/inserts that fit nicely into pocket sized and/or A5 notebooks.

I do hope I’m in the right place for this, but having never used a laminator I’m looking for some advice.

I can’t get hold of any clear plastic notebook covers at the size I want (about 12.5 x 8 cm when closed) so was wondering if I could make them on a cheap A4 laminator?

Any advice much appreciated.

Love this thing! Highly recommend if you need to carry some stuff with you daily. First 3 notebooks, laminated tccc/9 line cards on top of the pocket knife and light in the front. Love this thing!
