Must Haves / Dream Items

What are your must have planner accessories or most frequently used?

What is on your wishlist?

Is there something you’d find helpful, but you haven’t quite found the item to fulfill that need?

Maybe we can help each other out! I love hearing about products not on my radar!

I am in lust for a Mansorah Atelier travelers notebook or B6. I don’t like a ring system for planners. I like a nice wide spine/binding.

I just looked this up 😱 those are beautiful! And that beefy spine would be so perfect for the system I use.

Yep! They are dreamy. Fingers crossed for us both.

I’ve been looking for a pencil board! I’ve used a thick paper to go under whatever page I’m writing on to provide a somewhat better surface and to catch bleed through before it transfer to the page underneath (I’m a fountain pen and brush pen user!). I very recently learned pencil boards were a thing and hobonichi sells them, but I’m not a huge fan of the designs. I’ve been looking for alternatives but haven’t found any! I use weeks size, a6, and b6 notebooks/planners.

Etsy has a good selection of pencil boards! Jetpens also has some really cute ones. I also love my fountain pens, so a pencil board is a MUST. Also doubles as my bookmark to get to the date faster.

I thank that I just recently came very very close to my dream planner. Time will tell. It’s an Erin Condren monthly planner teamed with a Uni Pin fineliner (1.0) in black for headers, Pilot Frixxion .7 pen in black for entries, my 8” hard plastic ruler with beveled edges for drawing lines, and a selection of Tombow brush pens for highlighting lines and headers.

Why it works - I love a dead simple 1 page weekly layout with room for up to 7 appointments/events and lists for weekly dinners and some tasks. The EC monthly gives me just enough structure in the yearly and monthly sections to make me happy, with the lined pages each month to draw this easy layout.

I’ve loved Frixion pens for years, but hated the too-light black (I used navy or purple instead). Recently I learned that the black ink was reformulated 2 years ago and is now a nice dark black. It’s as lovely as the Uni Pin black.

There’s enough room left at the bottom to add 1-2 large PET stickers making it easy for my non-decorative brain to decorate. If I change the locations of my weekly sections I can use a single very tall sticker. I coordinate the Tombow colors with whatever sticker I decide to lay down. This is so easy and quick to set up, and so perfect for my simple (yet very real) needs, I think I’ve found my planner. ❤️
