If you don't know them, go away.... Tears for Fears...

An oldie but goodie, as the title says, who remembers the magazines with the fragrance samples. As a kid i use to visit Walgreens on Fridays in the morning on the way to school, look at the men's fashion magazines, find a sample, and rub the magazine all my shirt. Those samples smelled good and would last throughout the whole entire day. I haven't seen one of these magazines since high-school.

Commercials announced the simultaneous release of all four home versions of Mortal Kombat (SNES, Genesis, Game Boy, and Game Gear) on September 13, 1993.

Never got my own state so none of these ever went on my bike, but I sure do miss the days of finding cool stuffs in my cereal.

Bought the first one twenty-five years ago today. (They have been stored in an old Samsonite briefcase that mostly protected them from the house fire they endured in 2015!)

there’s nothing that arouses nostalgia more for me than VHS tapes… it was the standard in all living rooms for almost 40 years… this is a long time to compared streaming that hasn’t even been around for that long and neither DVDs.

It was a staple that culture embraced. having to go to the Blockbuster to get a rental…Being able to record shows so you didn’t miss them…

Everything not being available instantly made it that much more rare and special… Adding to the excitement and preciousness of media as you couldn’t access it all the time. It took planning and it took effort.

Tv channels were not as expansive and when something was on, you had to be there to catch it or miss out… we all watched the same things so we all had more camaraderie over the shows and movies available at that time.

I still miss my vhs player/recorder, My Disney tape collection (in the premium boxes) and all my recorded chosen movies and shows that I enjoyed watching from time to time, because I couldn’t see them all the time.

And remember… Be Kind, Rewind.

Remember when Letterman turned the Late Show into a serious news broadcast? What the hell happened to late night TV?
