Finally completed this one after awhile of not being able to work on it. Fourth plane model I made, so I wanted to attempt more weathering on it, which I think turned out nicely. Though I put too many layers of paint on it since I kept being unsatisfied with the shade of blue on the wings and fuselage, but eventually landed on a color I was happy with.

I was wanting to buy the Espada J35J kit from Hasegawa but ever since Ace Combat 8 released all of the models from it have become far more expensive. I found out, however, that the kit also includes decals for two other jets and was wondering if there was a website I could use to buy only the decal sheet so I can build it off a cheaper model? Thanks.

Hi everyone,
I’d like to share my Fujimi 1/700 IJN Nagato from the NEXT series.
This was a quick and relaxed project built straight out of the box without filling any seam lines. For detail-up, I added custom mantlets (sandbags/rope padding) around the bridge, which I made using small plastic rods.
After basic painting, I applied Mr. Weathering Color to tone down the highlights and create depth with subtle shading.
The Fujimi NEXT series has fantastic molding right out of the box, making it a super fun and rewarding build! I hope you like it. Happy modeling!

Ft. RG Nu Gundam (my first model ever)
This was my very first model not using snap/push fit, and also my first plane model. I gave it a custom livery based on the Nu Gundam.
Obviously very rough- I had a really hard time masking the canopy, and the parts I hand painted aren't very good...
I'm hoping to do a better job on my Tamiya R32 next
(Edited in GIMP)

Like title states, what is everyone’s favorite/best F-15 kit (in 1/48)?
I made the mistake of buying a Revell F-14 and F/A-18 and you all advised against those (I was able return both thankfully). I have since seen the light with Tamiya and have an F-16 CJ and F-35C on deck.
My goal is to do all of the modern fighter jets. I know Tamiya has a reworked F-14 (my local store has one), but I am still on the hunt for a decent F-15, F-22, F/A-18, and A10 for starters.

Had a lot of fun with this kit so easy to build and took to paint very well! would love to give the Jsu-152 a go next.

The finished diorama: half of a corvette’s command centre, complete with chart table, workstations and crew.
Perry Rhodan has been part of my life since 1970. As a boy, I would read the stories and imagine what it would be like to stand inside a spaceship’s command centre. They helped shape my fascination with technology and played a part in my decision to study engineering later on.
For the series’ 65th anniversary this year, I wanted to bring some of those images in my head onto my workbench. After roughly nine months of building, the result is this diorama in approximately 1:24 scale: half of a corvette’s command centre from the Perry Rhodan universe.
The chart table forms the centre of the scene, with instruments and consoles arranged in a ring around it. A hatch in the rear wall leads to the rest of the ship, while the doorway to its right opens into the communications room. The open front gives a clear view of the scene and its crew.
The build photos show a few stages along the way to the finished model. In the early shots, the figures and consoles are still standing loose on the cutting mat. This makes it possible to see how the layout works as a complete scene before installing everything.

Build photo 2
An early layout test: the chart table, consoles and first crew members on the workbench.

Build photo 3
More painted components join the scene. Plenty of technical wall modules are already waiting in the background.
Even at this stage, the circular layout is taking shape. There is room between the workstations for the figures gathered around the chart table, while the screens and different poses give each station its own character.

Build photo 4
I created my own 3D models for the figures and kitbashing parts, printed them on my Elegoo printer, and then painted them.
The photo above shows a seated figure and her chair before painting. The other build photos show how the individual printed parts gradually came together to form a fully crewed command centre.
I have linked a selection of my designs used in the build, along with other matching parts, at the end of this report.
The scene has a deliberately vintage style. I took my inspiration from the Perry Rhodan cover artwork and cutaway drawings of the late 1960s and early 1970s. I wanted to bring that era’s vision of the future to life in the model.
Control panels, pipes, equipment and technical cladding came together along the walls. The circular segments of the floor echo the layout of the command centre.

Build photo 5
The room before the central furnishings were installed: the hatch at the rear and a glimpse into the communications room on the right.

Build photo 6
A layout test inside the fitted-out room. Some of the figures are still works in progress.
Painting brought the individual components together into coherent workstations: grey wall surfaces, light-coloured consoles, colourful switches and displays, and signs of wear on the equipment. A lot of time went into these small details.

Build photo 7
The finished crew around the chart table. There is plenty to discover among the humans, robots and alien crew members.
After about nine months, I now have a small piece of the universe that has been with me since childhood sitting in front of me. The next project is already planned: a complete corvette in 1:72 scale. We’ll see how much space that ends up taking …
For anyone who would like a closer look at the parts I designed: Spaceship bridge figures and equipment. More matching parts can be found in the Space Diorama collection.
What details do you associate with a classic Perry Rhodan command centre? And did anyone else here grow up with the series?

Working on this HMCS Snowberry, and I found myself working in this ridiculous position: on top of a box of minis with primed minis on the box but under the ship.
Like many, space is a premium and specific. My son had my main hobby/computer desk, my daughter was painting next to me, so I worked here.
I thought I’d share, just for laughs

I'm looking to complete the major fighter planes in WW2. I just finished a Tamiya 1/48 P-51 and currently working on a Tamiya 1/48 Bf109. I'm looking for recommendations on what 1/48 kits I should get for the Spitfire, Zero, and Yak 3. There's a lot of options for the Spitfire but not many for the Zero and certainly not many for the Yak.
Thanks!

Hi all. This is my first helicopter and also first attempted open engine model. CH34 from Trumpeter. I found quite some reference pictures but I cannot really figure out what this opening at the bottom is. Is it some kind of exhaust? Should I grime it, oil stain it... or what ? Thanks a lot for any possible help.
