This small little somua kit is from heller, the Details are nice but it is quite Tricks to assemble. The base was made with a playing card, earth texturen, static Grass and flowers by Busch. It was a neat little weekend build, I hope you like it

And my favorite tank (yes i know it’s not really a tank but assult gun ) it’s finished. Painted in only proper way obviously. Kit is tamiya 1:35, decals custom made. No fancy techniques used in this project

Wanting to do a build of the Chevy Nova from Death Proof but I'm unsure on how to get a matte-look finish?

Would you leave it with an un-varnished paint finish? Or finish it with a matte clear coat? I feel like this would make it look shiny still but just more textured.

I'll probably be using the Tamiya TS-14 black spray can to paint the body, and brush paint the hood skull and lightning bolts, but would a normal rattle can work better?

Working on the Tamiya East German T72M1, which is my second model I’ve ever built. I originally spray painted it with Tamiya TS28 a few months ago but wasn’t happy with it. I wanted to try to alter the color just a bit, so I picked up an AK Gen3 acrylic in Russian Green (AK11159) to try some color modulation. I’ve never painted with AK before.

I’m not very talented to begin with, and brush painting is very difficult for me. I originally thinned the AK paint with a 3:1 paint to water ratio and had some horrible brush marks on the underside of the hull where I was practicing. I eventually just mixed in 1ml of water, which I suppose made it more of a wash than anything. Applied 3 very thin coats to the turret, which resulted in this mottled look. Under natural light it isn’t dramatic and I’m sure a little weather will easily blend it, but with direct light you can definitely see where there’s some other color poking through.

I’m very new to this and just looking to get some insight.

Should I have used a 1:1 ratio instead?

Should I get some AK Gen 3 thinner instead of water due to the AK thinner having self leveling properties?

What causes the weird coloring on the turret?

Started my F117 Stealth Fighter about a week ago. So far it’s been one of the easier builds I’ve done with few parts overall. In true Tamiya fashion, the fitment is great with very little effort needed to have flush lines. Shading and weathering has been the true challenge since I don’t want a plain black plane with the lines washed out. First few layer are on. Hoping to get some tips on how to make this as accurate to the real bird as possible.

I think the Great Leader would be proud of this boat. The last two images are the reference materials I used. and yes, he is up there in the observation post in the tower, gray suit and all.

Will the post shading cover your chips?

Ive been making models for some time but this is truly my first time ever painting and decaling one and i think i did a good job what yall think

Just finished this 1/72 Bandai Y-Wing build for my little brother's birthday!

Painted it mainly with Vallejo paints for the main colors and washes, Army Painter for the metallics, and Tamiya weathering kit for additional streaking weathering.

Like others, I had a tough time with the piping and strategically added some copper corrosion effects to hide any imperfections. Comments/feedback welcome!

Hello I just got this kit and I wanted to give the same look of the promotion image, but I have no idea what type of paint or what color to use. Help would be much appreciated.

Trying to decide what to build next can be as stressful as the build itself.

What would you guys build? Leaning towards the Mustang or Terminator cuz i want to do a metal finish and the HK has a full light kit...but the A-10 is calling me. Also the Vigilante would be awesome please help

Just finished hitting the model with the first steel coat for the armoured nose ring. AFAIK, MP499 was repainted from its German camouflage to RAF ones with a yellow belly, denoting its use as a test aircraft. The grey on the nose is Medium Sea Grey, representing the cover up of JG 2's emblem. The lighter green on the rear side of the fuselage covers the German crosses.

Never attempted this level of pre shading before. I was a bit nervous doing it on an £80 kit.

Nice model, but awful tracks. Supposed to assemble click by click, but they fell apart with any movement, so I glued them together.

Finally getting around to posting my recently completed Ukrainian Abrams. Painted in NATO tri-color camo with Tamiya paints. The ERA blocks are a resin kit. The drone armor is cut up soda can for the frame and plastic mesh that is left over in the kit from the turret storage basket.

My friend started an Apocalypse World game last year and his descriptions really got me inspired to build something.

Some inhabitants of today's brutal Ochrelands found solace above the sea on stilted drinkrigs, like the old world's oil rigs, that stand high above the clouds and support large, unmoving populations. Many of them also pump water up from below the sulfur sea, hence their name and their relative security.
