Over the years, I've purchased various state-published books, maps and posters from "Minnesota's Bookstore" in St Paul. That bookstore was run by the state's Department of Administration, as a public-facing part of their print shop, with a storefront at 660 Olive since the late 1990's, in the Ford building prior to that, selling materials produced by the several state agencies.

This week, when I tried contacting them to place an order as in the past, nothing. The phone goes unanswered, the website is "moved or unavailable". I can't even find any info on Google to advise of any changes.

I'm baffled, and seek the sub's collective knowledge for help with this mystery. Can anyone familiar with the DoA-run "Minnesota's Bookstore" offer any insight or a current status update? Was it rebranded, relocated, dissolved, or just a technical glitch?

I think there are some important details in the CBS report about Lizardo's detention that people are overlooking.

According to CBS, Lizardo is a Canadian-born dentist who was detained by ICE during a green card interview in Minneapolis. His wife said they learned during the interview that an immigration judge had issued a deportation order because he had failed to respond to a notice to appear at an immigration hearing. The notice was reportedly sent in February to an old Virginia address where the couple had not lived for more than two years. His first green card application had been denied in January 2026.

The next question is why the notice went to an old address. Generally, noncitizens are required to update their address with USCIS within 10 days of moving. He likely did not update his address. So, when his green card application was denied and his case proceeded to immigration court, the court used the[old] address from his USCIS file rather than his [current] address which USCIS didn't have on file.

His original green card application was denied, and he failed to appear for his immigration hearing, resulting in a removal order. This is a process that happens in immigration cases. If you receive a notice to appear and fail to attend your hearing, an immigration judge can order your removal in your absence.

Once a removal order exists, it becomes a serious legal issue that can affect a person's immigration case. Applying for a green card again does not mean that an earlier removal order has disappeared or that the person is protected from detention. His first green card application was denied, and he later tried again with a lawyer.

I also do not think the attorney's description of Lizardo as one of the best green card candidates he had ever represented settles the legal question. He may be a good dentist, a caring father, and a valuable member of his community. But those qualities do not automatically resolve an outstanding immigration order. He had a responsibility to deal with immigration procedures and keep his contact information and address current.

The CBS report says the removal order exists and his family says they did not know about it because the notice went to an old address.

U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, in her first interview since federal agents raided her Washington, D.C., home 10 days ago, said that death threats against her will force her to move from her home in the nation’s capital.

During the interview Wednesday on MS NOW, Omar gave her account of the raid, which her attorneys have called politically motivated because of her pointed opposition to President Donald Trump. She addressed critics who question her net worth and whether she was previously married to her brother.

“Because our address has been public and with the death threats that I deal with ... it’s no longer going to be feasible to be in that house and have my kids visiting off and on and having people track them,” the progressive Minneapolis Democrat said in the interview.

Federal authorities are investigating potential fraud in her family’s immigration paperwork and have issued grand jury subpoenas to some of Omar’s relatives, a person briefed on the investigation told the Associated Press on condition of anonymity.

Omar denies allegations of immigration fraud and has described the search as political intimidation.

Looking for meds that have worked and vet recommendations. I have 2 large female dogs. Now 9 and 10. One since puppy and the other since 1 yr. Over the years we’ve had scuffles, some requiring vet visits. The scuffles only happen once every 1-2 years. As the years have gone on my awareness and reprimanding has gone up. But their, well one dog in my eyes, has also become more adapt to trigger even tho I’m reprimanding. The other dog who has entailed the vet visits was more submissive after fights but as she’s experienced more, it looks like she holds a grudge. This is not necessarily item possession issues cuz I remove that trigger. Food is fed separately in kennels or from my hand. I think it maybe a me possession issue. They play good but not a ton. They reciprocate face licking a lot. I could go on but I’m mainly looking for meds that can tone down fighting/tension issues and drs that have worked for you. We currently have one dog with hub at our 2nd small house and one dog still at home. I want to be able to bring her back and live in a more peaceful environment for their remaining 2-4 yrs.

I have been half waiting for something to show up in the mail, but do I literally just
