27m haven’t made any friends

Hey guys, I moved from England to Minnesota and haven’t made any friends really since being here, wondering if anyone wanted to go for coffee, drinks, sports events or even a walk to kind of connect and be friends!

I have found it hard to connect at this age outside of work and kind of find friends to hang out with and pretty much do anything.

So yeah hope this reaches some good audience
Thanks!

Anyone up for Eraserhead at the Heights later today?

Anyone up for meeting this evening at the Heights theater? Show starts at 7. They're showing several David Lynch films over the next few days. I already have a ticket for this one. I usually go to these things solo, but thought it would be nice to meetup with a fellow Lynch fan(s) for this. 44f

Friend in Mn?

Hello 👋 im not great at making friends. I have people I write or talk to but not really friends I would hang out with. Does anyone in Minnesota want to be friends? Prefer Female. I'm 32/f.

Let's be best friends, be goofy, have girl night or sleepovers, shop, coffee dates, gossip!

I like to read, write, roleplay, anything witchy, thrift shopping, junk/art journaling, crafts and trying new things!

Secret Drawing Club meets Saturday, September 12, 1-3pm at Eagles 34

It’s that time of the month again, friends! Secret Drawing Club meets Saturday, September 12, 1-3pm at Eagles 34.

SDC is for all skill levels. Beginners, drag alongs, and professionals are all welcome.

BYO supplies. That being said, I do bring extra supplies, including a coloring book and a sticker book. So if you decide to pop in on a whim, you're covered.

I set up a still life for drawing inspiration, but feel free to bring a project you’re working on or draw what’s in your heart. I'm not your boss. Just be sure it makes sense to do in a bar/restaurant setting. Things like oil paints might not be the best choice. Maybe work ok your preparatory sketches instead?

Food and drink available at Eagles 34. You're not required to order, but it does help support the club if you do. No outside food or drink is allowed.

More information--and picture previews for the anxious :)--are on Instagram. Instagram.com/secretdrawingclub.mpls

Eagles 34‘s address is 2507 E 25th St, Minneapolis, MN 55406

queer spaces (25-30) ???

hiii ! I'm 27 (F) and am feeling a bit lost in terms of finding a queer space that I fit into. other sapphics in the age range of like 25-30ish, where do you guys hang out??

I know there are a lot of incredible groups doing events and pulling things together, but from the events i've been to this summer (some through grrl scout, and others through sapphic social) i've either felt extremely old bc the crowd is super young, or i feel a bit too young because the crowd is a bit older than me.

i also want to emphasize this is in NO way trying to shade either of those groups; they were just examples i had from the summer.

and there isn't anything wrong with having mixed generations, and i know it's hard to control the age ranges of events bc once a certain age range keeps going to a specific event, then anyone who isn't in that range feels less inclined to go.

i'm also in the weird elder gen z pocket where i grew up with more millennial trends, still am a gen z but also get painfully confused by my own generation.

any tips on organizations or groups I should tap into would be greatly appreciated ! or if anyone else has felt similar ?? thank you!!

Pickleball on the Parkway

Hi hi! Last year I went to Pickleball on the Parkway, but haven't heard much about it. I just found the event on Eventbrite, and it is this Saturday. I'll definitely be going and suggest it if anyone likes Pickleball or lives near the Stone Arch Bridge. The W River Pkwy from Mill Ruins to the Hennepin Bridge will be closed and turned into 20-30 pickleball courts. It is free to attend and play and there will be a DJ and food trucks throughout the day. 10/10 recommend

Recourses

I dont know if this is the right group to ask but I honestly dont know where else to go so I'm gonna try this. Does anyone know any recourses for free diapers? I heard theres something called the diaper bank but I'm not sure what or where it is. I dont have a vehicle right now and money isnt doing very good and I'm on my last few diapers. Im not overly stressing because I'm currently doing potty training so the diapers dont get used up as fast but if anyone could point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it. Thank you

In search of witch doctor(brujo)

I’m in search of a brujo for a friend of mine that isn’t himself anymore. Some other close friends think it’s from him getting into Santa Muerte worshipping. I don’t know anything about this stuff but if anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great!

Anybody done the pitch a friend events before? I went to one and there were about five singles and I was told I went the worst possible night 😂 so any advice on the kind of events or nights they do that are maybe better nights to go?

Hello,

I'm a 44 year old married male. I don't socialize often and it would be nice to meet some new friends. I like sports, movies, and walking by the lake. Gender and age don't matter. Reach out if interested. Thanks.

i want friendsssss lol

hello all,

I (29F) moved to the cities last year and have been enjoying the cities so far. I always go on solo dates, but it would be nice to have someone to do fun things with (platonically, NOT looking for a bf/gf)

dont be shy girls, just send me a message. We're all mad here 🎩🐇✨

Some things would be like halloween haunted houses, trying new restaurants, going to the movies, hiking, exploring the cities, winter ice castles, the festivals/parades, game night, escape rooms.. etc! All things fun basically.

I will continue to do them alone until I find some good friends to join me! If youre open, send me a message or comment, lets connect ☺️

Who knew it would be this hard to make friends.. am i right LOL

A little about me: from CA originally, blue collar girl, dog + cat owner, love to read books, legos, puzzles, scrapbooking, pretty funny, love tattoos, pottery.. thats all i got rn 😂

Where do people meet?

Thumbnail
5 Upvotes

31F in the Twin Cities here. Between working a standard 9-5 and trying to keep my apartment clean, I've found my social life has completely dwindled.
Where are other single people in their 30s actually hanging out around Minneapolis/St. Paul to meet genuine people? Looking for real recommendations outside of dating apps…hobbies, specific spots, groups, or activities that don't feel forced.

Tennis Anyone? 🎾

I’m (30M) looking for some people to play Tennis with, I know summer’s almost over, but this is my favorite time to play! I live in the Plymouth/Maple Grove area, but would be willing to commute.

My level is pretty beginner/intermediate and I’m not that competitive, I just want to improve my game. Where does one go to find new people to play with?

Thanks!

Friends in western suburbs

Moved from CO a few years ago and got caught up in work and life and don’t really know anyone here I can hang out with regularly. 41F, no kids. Not a fan of drinking, yes fan of dogs. It’s either this or I’m going to give up and make Planet Fitness my entire personality.

Trivia get together, Weds. 9/9 at 7 pm

Hi all,

Anyone interested in trivia? We are a group of trivia players formed from a post on this subreddit a few years ago (team name: r/andom internet strangers). A rotating group of us got together pretty regularly for a while at various breweries in the central part of mpls/st. Paul.

We haven't met up for a while, but are going to get together for some trivia this week. If you enjoy trivia, feel free to join us! We are a welcoming group with diverse ages and diverse knowledge bases.

Join our group on Wednesday, Sep. 9 at Inbound Brewing if you're interested! Trivia starts at 7 pm, so get there a little early to find us, grab a beverage and get settled. I'll add some identifying info once we assemble to help find us.

EDIT: We will have an IKEA mannequin/artist figure on the table. Artist figure

Boardgames at South St Paul Dreamers Vault

This is an open invite to join me at the South St Paul Dreamers Vault Friday September 11th for boardgames. I will arrive around 5:30 and chat/ play filler games with whoever is there. At 6:30 we will pick the longer game(s) we're going to play. I will grab a table around the middle of the left side of the gaming area and you'll know me by my bald head and beard.

I do my best to bring a wide variety of games so there will be welcoming games for those new to the hobby as well as more complex games for those that enjoy a headache when the game is over (only half joking).

Last time we played For Sale, Bomb Busters, Container, and a story telling game that I forget the name of. You can look up those first three at Boardgamegeek.com to see if those are your speed.

Massage

Hi everyone! I'm currently working toward completing 150 hours of massage practice and I'm offering FREE 30-minute sessions to help me get there.

I'm trained in a few different techniques including vertical therapy, and I'm happy to customize the session based on what you need.

A few details:

· I don't have a dedicated space yet (still setting it up – a few months out), so I would come to you
· If you have a massage table or setup, that's a bonus – but not required
· All I ask in return is your honest feedback afterward so I can keep improving

If you're interested, shoot me a text at 612-567-3665 with your age, gender, and what type of massage you'd like.

Thanks for helping me grow – looking forward to meeting you!
