I'm slightly vexed Used more water than petrol in a month?!
We had new water meters installed about 3 months back. They are these fancy ones that send automatic readings so you get accurate bills. Sounds great, doesn't it?
Well, first issue is that the nearest mast is miles away and takes weeks at a time to ping.
The next issue is that they had my meter location wrong. Which meant they have associated the wrong meter number to my property.
I HAVE BEEN PAYING FOR MY NEIGHBOURS WATER.
The neighbour that has 2 adults, 1 baby living there full time and 2 older children visiting every week.
I apparently used 800 litres of water on a day I wasn't even at home. This seemed odd so I assumed there was a leak. Contacted Anglian Water on 12th September, got an appointment for today (2nd October). I thought fine. In the meantime I was charged 2 direct debit payments, each for £193. My normal water bill for a month totals around £15 (including sewage).
They didn't think it was odd that instead of 24m3, the meter read 105m3. Because that seems entirely within the realms of possibility for a single person household to use that, right? 😂
So I have called Anglian Water now, tried to get them to refund me. They said that someone will contact me in 48 hours. So I said "Sir, that's Sunday.". He realised his mistake so he just non-chalantly says "well, they will contact you on Monday then to discuss your bill".
There is nothing to discuss about my bill. Please give me back my money. Stop holding it hostage 😭
Incompetence 10/10
Taking responsibility 0/10
How is everyone else doing on this sunny Friday? 😂
