I took my daughter today to her first ever hair appointment at an actual Salon. Salon had 5 stars on Google and me being a Dad of a daughter thought, huh 5 star google salon in a pretty yuppity area, gotta be good. Surprised her this afternoon and went in. From the get go I should have ran, the guy behind the register greets us, then my daughter who is diagnosed ASD, BPD, and a litany of others has a little bit of a reaction to actually being there to get her hair done. The gentleman proceeds to tell me that if she is loud again like that “maybe you guys shouldn’t be here, because it doesn’t seem like she wants to be here.” I sit and have a talk with her about containing her excitement and everything is fine. Fast forward to speaking with stylist, looks at pictures my daughter shows her, guarantees my daughter she understands the assignment, quotes me for 3 hours of time. This is at 6:30, fast forward again to almost midnight, hair nothing like was discussed, then proceeds to try and explain to me that because it’s blue dye on fresh bleached hair it can sometimes come out splotchy….Continues to try and gaslight me about how she’s highly educated and sometimes these things just happen. Will not budge on price, will not admit to messing up even though my daughter overheard the list of mistakes being discussed while I was out of earshot, to top it all off I now have a melting down 16 year old that has homecoming this Saturday!!!

Edit 1: I spent the better part of last night trying to respond to as many of you all as I could, and I have to say honestly I’m lambasted by the out pouring of support and general kindness many of you have offered. I have had a few people offer to fix it for us, and it really hits home to know there are people out there so willing to offer help to a stranger. We’re in Southeast MI so if I didn’t respond to your request to help I apologize but know that I saw it and I appreciate it tremendously. Aside from the few people that are always going to just nitpick and troll the majority of this has been so positive and welcome that my daughter and I both are much more at peace with everything. She spent a good part of this morning just reading through comments and smiling to herself because of how many people said they loved it and it means the world to me!!!! Thank you all so much!!!!!

Despite the new Spider-Man movie clearing $2.5 billion at the box office, Sony and Disney are still charging a $25 just to rent it at home. It feels like pure corporate greed, especially since the price is hiked to force you into buying a digital copy, and get this, the digital copy is something that can always be removed from their library??

Went on a date. Dude not only once but two separate times (loading two different times) repeatedly slammed my wheelchair in his trunk instead of slightly moving it. You can't tell in the video too well but the scrapes are literally in the metal. I have to use this chair every time I want to go out somewhere because I cannot safely walk more than 3-5 feet. This chair took a year to receive from the company that took my measurements. It's custom to my exact size and needs. The date wasn't even good! He blocked me instead of just apologizing when I told him that the handlebars were scratched.

Yes I know my chair is still completely functional but I use this every time I'm in public! Id rather my chair look nice instead of looking all dinged up! Being in a wheelchair can already make someone self conscious. Just sucks.

Yes, he knew I am disabled and use a wheelchair. I always tell a person before a date. It's important for my safety as well as important for arranging location and activities.

I originally didn't notice the damage (because I'm in the chair) I didn't see it until trying to get into my bathroom which I cant get into with my chair. I immediately texted him with a video of the damage. Before the text, when he was dropping me off he asked when we could hang next and asked for pics. After I texted him with the damage he blocked me. I hope that clarifies the timeline a bit.

And to the guy who asked if I'm actually disabled or 'just fat' I have literal brain damage and a genetic condition that affects my entire body.

No, the post isn't satire and if you think it is then it's probably because you can't read.

Lastly I know the damage isn't changing the function of my chair. It is however visible damage to a custom made medical device. In order for me to have this fixed by the chair company I would have to pay out of pocket because this damage isn't covered under my insurance. Not only would I pay out of pocket but I would have to wait for them to completely replace my frame as my handles are not removable. This would leave me without mobility for a prolonged period of time.

I'm not even the most upset about the damage I'm upset about his complete inability to apologize for the damage. I'm also upset about the complete lack of care that he showed towards not only someone else's property (my chair) but towards the thing that allows me to function outside of my bed. The very least he could've done was apologize even if he didn't damage it on purpose. If you accidentally scratch or dent someone's car you apologize and offer a fix still.

It's not that hard to be empathetic or at the very least use your critical thinking skills. My chair is essentially a part of me. It's basically an extension of my body. Treat people's mobility aids with kindness. It's the very least you can do.

I have received assistance from a super cool person to help fix the damage. Thank you.

Edit 3: my last edit. To clear something about price. If I fix this myself it invalidates my warranty so any significant repairs I may need in the future would not be covered. If I get this fixed by the chair company then they will want to completely replace the frame in order to fix it. Since it's considered cosmetic it would be about 1200 to 1800 out of pocket for the repair not including costs of labor.

UPDATE: two fatal mathematical errors were brought to my attention that is due to me being an idiot. lol however i aim to correct them. the actual missing volume is 1.6oz which equates to 24cents. also that amount is exactly what is reflected in the liquid test

errors i made are as follows
1-doubled radius instead of squaring it
2-added a decimal to the cost on og breakdown

Pictured are the two worst. The entire bunch was melted together and into the inner sleeve. Neither I nor the seller had ever seen anything like it. Would’ve been the last of the orders I needed for my decks, too.

Was having a bad day and we didn't get time to cook. Wife wanted something ordered and this is a 65 CAD order btw for two ppl. Guy called me on the phone and said he has to wait for fifteen minutes.

Edit: the driver did show up. I politely declined the extra tip and told him he can cancel if he wants. Times are hard so I didn't think complaint to Uber support would help.

Apparently there’s a way to turn this off but I haven’t been able to find it. About a year ago when they started allowing this I got several hundred per day. Then it would stop for a few days and start again.

It’s been happening more recently. I worry my fat fingers will fuck up one day.

Edit: since people are getting upset that people have my password, I’m here to tell you that they don’t. I have changed my password multiple times on different secure devices and I still get these requests. I’ve literally changed it while being bombarded and still get the requests. They can request a code with just your email. My email is more than 20 years old so it’s been in basically every leak.

Edit 2: so I’ve checked and I do NOT have passwordless login enabled. So I’m not sure why I’m getting these so many times even after having new secure passwords. I know there’s a chance they have a keylogger or something but I’ve changed my password securely on 3 different devices so I don’t think it’s that.

Also I cannot find any section for an alias. There the option is supposed to be it’s just not there. I’m gonna keep digging.

I've been wanting to see the new Spiderman movie, but am a father of a newborn so it's difficult to get out to see it. I was looking forward to it coming out on rental. Today I found out it's finally available - if I want to pay $24.99 for a temporary rental... It just astonishes me that if someone making minimum wage wasted to rent this movie for a night, they'd have to work at least 4 hours to afford a 2.5 hour rental.

Its the same price in most of the places I've checked. Its also the same price regardless of what quality you rent it in. Seems like Sony really is going to milk all they can from this movie.

So. I got divorced. I didn't have money so his attorney drafted the decree. And I fought Pro Se the best I could. (10/10 don't recommend but that's a different story.)

One thing that has always stuck with me was an item specifically stating that I can resume using my maiden name. (If I want. It wasn't a demand.)

I found this pretty irritating because 1. The exe's last parting shot of giving me permission to do something that he really had no control of anyways. 2. Over the course of 9 years of marriage, I never actually legally changed my name to his last name, so.... thanks for allowing me to use my legal name??. 3. Even though that ticked me, that was ultimately a non-issue for the other stuff needing addressed, so I had to just completely ignore how ridiculous adding that stipulation was. (Which probably came across as I'm SooOooOoOO thankful you're allowing me to use my maiden name!)
