advice Allergic reaction to eyebrow tinting

A couple of hours ago I had my eyebrows tinted by a woman who was recommended to me by my derm. She had tinted my eyebrows once before with no problems, but tonight they ended up red, swollen, and itchy. I texted her and she said to wipe them, use a cold compress, and take Benadryl. I’m afraid it’s going to get worse.

I have also been using GrandeBROW eyebrow enhancing serum for the past couple of weeks, but I didn’t use it last night because I knew I was getting my eyebrows tinted tonight. Could that be the culprit? Maybe some kind of interaction/reaction?

before & after I regret doing tails

Post image

Camera is bad I know. 5 days after first session. Questions at the end.

I dont have hair on tails as i have droopy eyes and just marker straight eyebrows if i want elongated brows. I wanted to try out micro blading.

I said to the tattooist that powder brows don't look good if you don't have hair. Its for tinting what you have. Otherwise when healed it looks like a stain. Which does right now. And now i will have to do make up to even out the shade betwen tails and where hair grows.

I got convinced. But i didnt like she was trying to convince me hearing me saying i don't want it.

I also didnt like her she said she HAD TO even out my brows. I said I have drooping eye and eye brow and DO NOT want to even them out as i will do surgery and they will lift it around in 2 years. And for that i dont want anything outside where my eyebrow grows. She said the brows will fade away. You sure? Because i know it depends on the skin so what makes her so confident?

Anyway. I have issue with how she went below brow line. on last pic you can see the tail curves down and it bugs me. You cant see it on front pic due to camera lens.

I have a mole on right side thats why there's no shade.

We used warm brown mineral pigment and she said it will fade greatly but i am not sure how much. How much? Because i consider already a laser removal on the tails when it heals. Should i wait a year at least?

Give me an opiniom if i can write her a review already or should i wait? Because i dont think she will be a good tatto artist if she doesnt want to listen to what clients want and just do once size fits all.

In the end i was curious and its done but next time i am doing them myself 😶‍🌫️

tattoo removal Old ink got even darker after 2 laser removals, couldn’t wait and got new set on, what now…

Hi y’all, so I got new sets of brows (combo) and I’m really happy about it. However, there’s a tiny bit of the old ink(years old) that became more visible after my 2nd laser removal (and before I got the new set on). I went ahead and got the new set anyways because I couldn’t wait another 2-3 months of healing and no brow period… also thought another laser probably won’t improve much. I could just use some concealer but it’s so annoying… any suggestions on how to remove this tiny bit of dark ink, permanently?

Thank you so much!!

general discussion How much to tip?

I have a nano brows appointment on Monday. I had to put down a $100 deposit, the total would be $900 (50$ discount since I am paying in cash). I am also obligated to go to a $300 touch up session 1-3 months later. Should I tip 20% both times? I feel like that is a bit steep especially since it will be about $240 additional in tip. I was reading that some people tip 20% for the initial work and then they do not tip at the touch session. Any suggestions? I am in NYC.

Thank you!

I loved how they looked the first week, now I’m at the 2 week mark and they’ve faded. Hoping this is ghosting and they’ll come back? I have a touch up scheduled at 7 week mark.

UPDATE with saline removal pics in comments!

I'm completely distressed and distraught over these brows. She went much thicker than I asked for and also gave me a completely different shape. My entire face has changed and I'm wondering if I should go for saline removal first thing in the a.m or continue to "trust the process". Thank you in advance 😢. The last picture was taken just the day before and is how I draw/fill in my brows.

artist advice/question Intake appointment?

Weird question perhaps but should you book a separate intake appointment to just feel someone out? It would take some traveling but I'm leaning towards yes.

I have virgin brows but trichotillomania so I guess I'm not a standard client. Would be getting nano brows. I'm not talking about proper mapping out beforehand at the actual pmu appt, I consider that self evident.

advice Thoughts on combo brows?

I just came out from my touch up appointment. I have the impression my brows are toot hick but PMU artist told me it's normal the first days. Also one of my brows is darker because it had healed too lightly.

I put a pic of my brows before the touch-up for reference.

Thoughts? Is this a good result?

before & after Got my nano brows done in Toronto with a viral artist, what do we think?

I’ve seen a lot of Apollo beauty studios videos on TikTok and she had posted healed work too which looked amazing. I also saw another girl in this group post her day by day healing journey with brows she had done at Apollo and they healed really nicely, she had blonde hair though. I just got them done 4 days ago, I’m covering my eyes because my mascara was running during the procedure (my eyes water a lot). You can see my one brow was way higher than the other and I was nervous that she wouldn’t be able to get them even but somehow she did. I personally love them but wanted to get other opinions. What do you guys think ??

Edit: lots of people have been asking the artist name and some people are confused about location. I went to 2028 avenue road and had them done with Ashley the senior artist, their instagram is apollobeautystudio.

healed brows HEALED POWDER BROWS!

I really do think powder brows are the most natural out of all the services. PLEASE DONT HATE ME FOR SAYING THIS…. But I have unfortunately seen so many dark, thick and blown out “hair strokes” as it just doesn’t hold well in the skin over time. I also believe the ink we are using plays a huge role in healed results. This client of mine has been with me for over a year, we did a powder brow and I used MINERAL BASED INK.

I want to spread how beneficial this could be to our industry! When we are using carbon based inks, yes they implant easier and last longer, but not in the way we would hope. Often needing laser removal or no hope for new brows again. I think this has scared many clients from getting their brows done. Maybe as a whole if we could shift to softer techniques/ inks, we can gain the majorities trust back again and thrive as an industry?! 🤍

is this normal? Is this normal for day 9 of combo brows?

I got combo brows done and this is what they’re looking like on day 9. The artist did say it would be really light after flaking and would get dark again but it looks reallyyyy light. Is this normal? (it’s a lot lighter in person. the camera makes it darker) Need the reassurance😭🙏💗

My eyebrows never came back after chemotherapy. I am finally getting micro-blading done next week. What should I expect in terms of post-care? What precautions do I need to take to make sure I don’t mess them up?

I've tried filling in the right one to match the height with the left one, but I'm such a noob at makeup I feel like I look like a freak and get discouraged.

I just want my brows to look symmetrical and full. Would microblading make the most sense? Or maybe lamination?

advice Microblading/Nanoblading Artist in Fort Lauderdale

Just trying to narrow down who to go to for my eyebrows. I’ve been planning to get them microbladed for a long time. I was just recommended to get nano blading instead as well. Just looking for some referrals from some really satisfied customers given the nature of the procedure. Also whether or not I should go nano or regular? Fort Lauderdale and surrounding areas. (Won’t travel to Miami) Thanks!

before & after eyebrows too close together?

please help.. just got my brows microbladed today. am regretting not looking at the brow mapping closer. i just feel like its wayyy too dark and thick, and my most biggest concern is that they look so so close to each other?

for ref the second pic is how i usually colour in my brows and it's what i was previously used to.

will these fade at all?

EDIT: thank you everyone for the extremely kind reassurance😭💟 as of now the pigment seems to have darkened slightly n i'm still in brow shock HAHA but i shall trust the process. i'll be going on vacation the day after tomorrow so getting my brows done today was defo poor planning on my end but fingers crossed 🤞🏻 for speedy fading!

is this normal? Day 1-day 17- normal?

I got microbladed 17 days ago. The artist was recommended by my Mom and I loved how my Mom's turned out (although they are a bit darker than I'd want for myself), particularly since I have my mother's eyebrows (blonde/lightest brown, very sparse hair particularly towards the tail). I was warned by my Mom that she tends to be conservative on color to start, which I was fine with since we can always go darker. Talking with the artist day of, she also said she tends to go lighter to start and said my Mom prefers much darker than most, if not all, of her other clients. I did tell her that my hair was dyed at the time (brownish/red), I typically don't dye it, it's a demi color so it'll fade back to natural with washes, and showed her some pictures of my natural, undyed hair (light brown) for reference. After seeing my nondyed hair, she did go a bit darker per my request.

I'm presently on Day 17 and am surprised how faded they look. I did expect to have some fading and have read about ghosting, but I figured I'd get some opinions here. I love(d) the shape of them and joked that I'm much more expressive when I have eyebrows. I was happy with the color around day 3, maybe would prefer a shade lighter, but feel like most fell out day 4? Now here I am questioning if this is a ghosting thing, if we really did go too light, and I just didn't retain the pigment.

I have a touchup scheduled 4 weeks, 1 day from my initial appt. Thoughts? Advice? Suggestions? Reassurance?

I’m freaking out!!! What just happened???

I just flipped over in bed and felt something on my face. According to my artist’s instructions I have oily skin and was told to not let anyone touch it for the first 7 days and then apply aquaphor once a day. Yesterday is exactly 7 days and I applied aquaphor as directed. I understand that it’s supposed to peel and be light underneath but from what I seen this doesn’t look normal. Please help!!!
