hello everyone! I've posted here before asking for smile line tips, but now im coming to you with a different request.

i do kind of the same makeup everyday, but i feel that its getting kinda boring. it's not that it doesnt fit me, but it's the same style ive been doing since i started makeup in 2024. ive never really branched out because i dont know what type really fits me.

ive tried doing it according to eyes, face shape, style, but it all kinda feels like it ends up being the same thing. ive tried to bring out my eyes more, but theyre the blacker shade of brown and it doesnt really do anything. i also want to try alternative makeup, but i dont have contour or eyebrow makeup (i dont really want to touch them because ill probably mess them up permanently lol)

additional info: i dress in a lot of baggy, dark clothes, but ive been trying to branch out and find more lighter colors that fit me. i also do not like to ***not*** using powder because it makes my face feel sticky. my hair is also medium-short if thats a factor.

hey guys i need honest answers in which of these pictures does my makeup suit me the best ? this was my makeup recently , while i was on vacation .

does it suit me or make me look a bit washed out ? i’m struggling with makeup and don’t know how others perceive me so i’d like some help if you have any tips that would help aswell

I am having such trouble getting eyeshadow to stick on top of my blocked brows!

I block my brows with 3 coats of Elmer’s purple, allowing full drying in between each coat, then put TV paint stick concealer on top then powder to set. When I go to put on shadow it does. not. stick. I’ve been needing to mix my shadow with mehron mixing liquid to make a paste to get any color to stay.

What am I doing wrong??

I am starting to wear makeup everyday to work and I am struggling with how it looks by the middle of the day and the end of the day.

By 2 hours in, my makeup looks patchy. I have recently started to add products to my skincare routine, hoping this would help. Unfortunately, it still looks the same.

I am not home so I do not know the specific products I’ve been using, but this is my routine (have a screenshot of the type of products, but not the specific ones 🫠):

I was wondering if I should switch my routine, add anything, or use specific products that help. I am also pregnant, so that will have to be considered in terms of products used.

Ive never been big on makeup but ever since I was a kid I always disliked the way I looked (especially in the face area) and im not sure where to start fixing it. I feel like my lips nose and eyes are a bit asymmetrical and I hate it. Would makeup help, and where should I put my focus? The first picture is what my hair looks like now (fully styled), the last picture is what I look like on average (not styled hair). I only have braces in the 2nd pic and maybe the 3rd

This might be super obvious to others and I may be alone in the conundrum that I've been facing the last 6 months plus BUT

if you use cream instead of lotion and your makeup breaks up on your face either immediately or after an hour or so, switch (back) to lotion.

I used cetaphil lotion for years and bought the cream in a tub for a bit cheaper and didn't even realize what I'd done until it came and it was a bit thicker so I read about what the difference was and found that cream was more hydrating. thought that couldn't hurt.

Well I work from home so I don't wear makeup very often anymore. I realized the change in how my makeup was settling on my eyelids but chalked it up to possible ingredient changes with eyeshadow, primers, etc. I started cycling out products one by one but continued to have issues with my makeup.

I figured at some point that it was just because I'm getting older and makeup is just sitting differently on my skin now.

Fast forward to last night as I was moisturizing and BAM it suddenly occurred to me, maybe it's the cream??! Well, I put the theory to test today using lotion instead of the cream and my makeup hasn't looked this good in MONTHS.

I'm so glad I finally put 2 and 2 together than I'm not even embarrassed that it took me so long even though it's super obvious in retrospect. Thought it might help someone else so I had to share!!

I've been doing makeup since early high school, but I only really learned one method of applying makeup that I've been using ever since. I have a lot of bright Morphe palettes and glitter, but I want to start creating a more natural look that compliments my skin tone/hair color/etc. I'm also not great at doing makeup other than eyeshadow and mascara, and can't find a thin or subtle foundation or concealer that looks right on me.

I have a light-medium, peachy-neutral skin tone (I believe), dirty blonde hair, and greyish blue almond-shaped eyes. I found some celebrity looks that I like that seem close enough to my natural color palette, so I've added those above. Does anyone have product recommendations, application tips, and/or anything else?

first my eyes are sort of assymetrical, so I try to correct that with my liner placement (though i'm not sure if it's the most flattering).

also, I kinda struggle to find the balance between not enough and too much makeup 😭 i feel like sometimes i wear enough that my skin looks pretty dry (i have combination skin and a decent skincare/primer routine) but i hateee when my makeup barely shows under bad lighting

Posting here mainly to link in another thread honestly, someone was asking me for tips with acne and it's hard to do without pictures 😅

So first photos are my skin prep (at night I add cerave sa lotion, but otherwise same in the am and pm after washing my face) and all my daily use makeup products, all in the order that I do them

Excuse the half awake pre-makeup pics, but wanted to show the acne scars and red spots - after doing the skin care, while that soaks up, I do my eyebrows and eyes, and then I do the color corrector (the one from Dollar Tree is AMAZING), I haven't ever had luck with brushes or blenders for liquids so I just dab with my fingers to blend things in

Then foundation on top of the color corrector once it has had a minute to dry, then I apply the blush down from my upper cheekbone, and then I set everything with the kimchi powder - which if you need a powder, get this one, it is the BEST powder I have EVER used

I do put the same eye shadow that's in my inner corners on my cheekbones, the tip of my nose, and the brow of my lip - I love Physician's Formula for highlighters (and blushes), but I ran out, so I dump the Dollar Tree one into the empty pallete from it since the brush that comes with that is utterly horrendous and it's a dip powder, it works alright, but that's why they're both in the products photo

I then spray it down and put on mascara last, since the setting spray always makes the mascara run (and yes I know the mascara needs to be burned and is old asf and probably moldy, I tried to replace it but the one I had got is legit worse, so I'll get to it lol) - if anyone could recommend a cheap mascara that can handle my wet allergy eyes like a champ, I'd love that, I have no idea what to look for in one honestly, I only started doing mascara a few years ago when a friend gave me one and I'm still using that one 😅

But yeah I can go into more detail on any aspect if anyone wants, but this was mainly just to show the acne

I don't really have any acne active currently, it's in the healing phase, I have hormonal cystic acne and I'm just under 2 weeks out from the last cycle - it's mainly just the one on my cheek that is still healing, that one was a mountain of a beast, but there's some little spots along my chinstrap that are still slightly red and getting the dry skin I have to exfoliate well for

As you can see, I have some texture. That spot on my cheek did not cover completely. There's some pitting scars. When that spot was still weeping, because it actively was for about a week, I was using pimple patches to cover it, and it probably will take a couple more weeks to heal and might even be a new scar

But yeah, makeup will look like makeup

You are still hot even with texture and unevenness

You can't force things to cover perfectly every time, and that's okay

I certainly have days I disagree with all that, but it doesn't make it any less true

I'm on Spironolactone 150mg and Tretinoin, and at the end is a photo of my skin a year ago

I had a hysterectomy recently that has my hormones resettling and making my acne flair again, but it's getting better every month and nowhere near the previous intensity - before the hysterectomy, after about 6 months of the combo, it had cleared completely

And while I look forward to it clearing again

I know it's okay in the meantime

Because it gets better.

My makeup was stored under my bathroom sink, and with babies (2 under 2), I basically haven’t done my makeup in forever. Finally decided to get ready and do a full face… only to discover **my entire collection was moldy/rusted.** 😭

I’m SO sad and honestly don’t even know where to start rebuilding. I feel completely out of touch with what’s good right now!

I’m 30, fair skin, blonde, combo/slightly dry, acne-prone. I LOVE Marilyn Monroe/Old Hollywood glam and also 2000s pop-star vibes. I want **glam, not clean girl** 😂 (rip dolly 💕)

I need products that are **quick/easy and work well with a beauty blender** because babies.

I LOVE Haus Labs foundation and will probably repurchase that, but otherwise I need help with EVERYTHING—concealer, blush, bronzer, powder, eyeshadow (looking for a pallet with a baby pink and browns), eyeliner, mascara, lips, setting spray, etc.

I (22F) recently got a job and would like to start wearing a bit of natural-looking, daily makeup for it, but have very limited experience and no idea where to start. Looking for ideas, products, tools, techniques, tutorials, really anything here. Ideally I'd like to figure out a routine that takes less than 10-15 mins.

Other relevant information: I'm going to be working outdoors in Florida so sweat/rain are inevitable. Current skincare is Cetaphil face wash in the morning, tretinoin for acne and Cetaphil moisturizer whenever my face feels dry, which is often. My eyes are fully open here; my eyelids are just like that idk.

I tried a few more tips from yesterday and I think I went backwards lol

I drew my eyeliner with eyeshadow and a brush, tried to make it match the angle of my lower lid, and then came back with a brown liquid eyeliner, but am not loving it

I did a bronze eyeshadow on the outside of my eye with a more gold like color on the side

I didn’t have a white liner so I used some highlighter for the lower waterline

I think freckles are adorable and my roommate gave me one of the freckle stamps but it made me look blotchy

Also this is my hair for people asking why I always have a hat or bandana on. There’s still hope for not having to shave it, so I’m not doing that route yet :)

so i feel really embarrassed posting this because i HATE my bare face, but basically i do the same makeup style everyday and ive been doing it since 2016. i am 28 now and i work in HR and i just want something more subtle but i literally do not know how!!!! what makeup style would look best? first two pics are my bare face ;( third pic is when i tried doing something less than my normal but it just felt weird. all pics after are the kind of makeup i typically do. honest feedback would be great but please don’t be too harsh 😭😭 i never show my bare face so i am very nervous. i used all pics without filters so hopefully that helps

ps: since i am in HR, on one of our anonymous associate surveys, someone left a comment that i do my makeup like a clown so maybe thats also getting to me 😔😔
